Its a lovely place, almost like a park where people can go and chill on the green grass and take beautiful pictures. There is also free wifi for everyone so the place is always full of people who are either jogging or doing assignments. At this place they have Nelson Mandelas statue so its a place for tourists. The place is not wheelchair friendly and the restrooms are not easily accessible
It was awesome to find my Khoisan brother there! He was very humble and so wise. He gave us a quick history lesson. My husband and children were just as excited and humbled by his humility and friendliness. The only thing that can be improved is to provide them with better shelter. We are after all the rightful owners of the land.
This is such a beautiful public park , where you can just come for pictures, picnic or just chill.alcohol abs noise not allowed
Good for exercise. The steps are amazing.
Beautiful, garden still dry due to winter coldness. But the place is amazingly beautiful. Very historic, good to take kids for some historic lessons.
Spectacular, well kept gardens. Free entrance and safe place to stroll. Bring a picnic basket and take a seat on the lush lawns. Spectacular view of Pretoria from the top.
Very well maintained garden in different levels. Offers a good birdeye view over the Pretoria city.
Very beautiful, pack a picnic basket.
Nice grounds with historic setting. Rubbish in all around and too few many bins for any rubbish. Historical movements are not maintained. Attached picture kinda says it all
It has a great view of the city, looking over Hatfield and Sunnyside buildings and the CBD skyscrapers. It is a pleasant place to visit with a great geographical landscape excellent for photo shoots.
Most beautiful place in Pretoria, South Africa
If you want a real workout...visit here...my my my..beautiful surroundings to walk and exercise. The views are worth the effort 👌
Serene environment
This place is beautiful. You will have a peace of mind and relax here.
Was excellent, watching big statue of Nelson Mandela and taking some pic
A very nice and chilled place
It was great to look at the wonderful architecture of the buildings, and to visit this South African landmark. The gardens were closed on our visit.
Great place to visit with family. The garden is spacious and spectacular for photos with a lot of History. The only thing I must point out that there no public toilets and no taps nearby. You carry your own water bottles and another disturbing point is that there nothing about our liberation war veterans for the statue of of the former late state president Nelson Mandela. Going there no will also give you opportunity to see the Khoisan king that has been there for 2 years in protest to speak to standing president for their constitution rights to be heard. I think thats dispicable to say from our government. When we say the people shall govern but the first nation are tread like step children of the government. The place is also fairly safe due to visable security.
Serene environment with a wonderful view of the capital city, Pretoria and a beautiful view at sunset.
The place needs to be maintained better. You can clearly see that our government have stolen all the money that were supposed to be kept for maintenance. The drains are blocked. Pipes leaking. Loose tiles and broken fences to name a few.
The garden is always clean and well taken care of
Outstanding experience we had visiting this memorial Pretoria landmark
This place soo beautiful and always clean. Gives a very beautiful view of Pretoria. The place is busy all day, tourists and also locals taking pictures here. The grass is well taken care of. Always green. There is a very big statue of Nelson Mandela here. It is very beautiful.
Its a nice and clean place which is the National landmark, both locals and tourists come here and take photos. It has large clean loan where people can rest and take as many pictures as they want, in addition its a good place to come and meet people. On the other side there are a lot of freelance photographers who makes a living by taking photographs of people, at times they are too insisting in taking your photographs and its annoying to have to say No more than once just to be heard.Parking can also be a challenge, so be prepared.
Loved visiting here, beautiful
Beautiful building to visit at night.Just sit and look at the amazing night life of the city of Pretoria.Nice and relaxing to sit and have a visit with friends and family.I visit the building on a regular basis and never have i felt unsafe or encouraged anything out of the ordinary.
The Union Building is closed for visitors, you can visit the park in front of it. The Park is superb.
What a pleasant surprise. Having seen our Union Buildings on television often ... and sometimes for all the wrong reasons ... it was fantastic to be there in the flesh! The magnitude of the buildings is something you dont get from TV. It is something all South Africans should have on their bucket list. The gardens are magnificent and the views are spectacular.Highly recommended.
Very neat inside
Beautiful pictures from Union Building Garden 😊
Union building is one of the most remarkable places in the South African Capital, it is approximately 45 minutes drive from OR Tambo airport and 5 minutes drive to the Pretoria CBD. It has very lovely , ever green and clean gardens. There is no entrance fee, it is very safe , there are securities everywhere. You can also sit in for a picnic , theres usually a lot of people around the buildings but people mind their own business and there is unlimited space. While at union building you are able to see the city center which has beautiful sky scrappers, For snacks and soft drinks , there a people around who are selling, and if you wish to get a printed photo there are also photographers who can help you but you must bring cash.
Its a nice place but not safe at night
Always so peaceful. Gardens always neatly manicured. Clean, access to safe parking. Great outdoors.
Union Building is wonderful place. Nice views 👍 l like that place.
Beautifully kept gardens
Kept clean. Good place for picnics and photoshoots as well as jogging. Tourist attraction. Photographers available on site

One of the most breathtaking views in Pretoria. Simply amazing
A place of great historical significance, the seat of the South African parliament.Great architectural design with well kempt horticultural gardens
So beautiful and refreshing. Lonely💟
We love Jesus and the good news of the gospel. We believe that South Africa needs a Godly leader and that we need to follow a servant leader. Here we are serving the needy with food and the message of the gospel with Dare To Love. Are you brave enough to serve? Vote for a politacal party who upholds Christian Values and protect the families and small businesses in South Africa. There is ony hope in Jesus Christ for SA. Love. West
The park is clean and serene. Ideal for work out sessions
The views are beautiful, the garden is immaculate, it is so clean and well kept 👌🏾.
This is Sir Herbert Baker at his monumental best. One can’t help but be moved by the sight of this physical representation of the Union of South Africa following the divisiveness of the South African War. This is echoed in Mandela’s open arms inviting the nation to come together at this administrative centre of government. One can’t help but contrast this with monolithic Voortrekker Monument seen across the city
Garden looked clean and well maintained. Progress from last time.
The place is so neat and lovely..and the air was just so fresh,I really enjoyed every moment I spent there
I took a nice late afternoon walk and the flowers are still as beautiful as always during the early summer season. There is still WiFi at the lower side of the gardens, although it can be slow at some times.
Lovely place, will definitely be chilling there from now.
This is truly a symbol of human victory, standing loftily on a mountain overseeing our own capitol. The statue of the famous struggle icon uTata Nelson Mandela stands high with his arms open wide to all possibilities our nation have and diligently work to achieve.I know that my kids loved the experience, it has meaning to me and them likewise. Played on the well manicured lawns, exquisite gardens under the hot sun of Tshwane.Awesomely nice!!!
Such a nice place to visit, safety is well maintained, can even do nice workouts at the gardens for free🕺🕺🕺
One of the nice historic places in the middle of Pretoria. Youll also get an opportunity to select from a broad choice of South African souvenirs: there is plenty of small vendors in front of the main building.President palace is nearby.
Beautiful garden and relaxing area
