Hatfield Montessori Preschool is our daughters home away from home. The school is in a secure area close to the University of Pretoria and many embassies in Hatfield.The staff are exceptionally friendly and all of them truly care for the children deeply. I am a huge fan of the Montessori ethos of being child-led and HMPS follows this closely.The school offers delicious, primarily vegetarian, meals that my daughter loves.They have pets (a hamster & a fish) that the children help take care of as well as lovely garden that the children tend to. They offer soccer starz classes, yoga, art & music classes and a wide array of activities for the children to partake in.Parents never feel left out and we are invited to events every term. The staff communicate exceptionally well by phone, email and through a communication book.I love this school and would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone with a child between the ages of 3 - 6. Its been a month since my daughter joined the school and I already see a big difference. She talks about her teachers and everything she does at school; she is more independent, has grown a big interest in books, she is more creative, wants to write or build things all day 😀, Its like she cant wait to get home and tell us all about the cool stuff she had learned at school. I wish we had joined the school sooner.

Our two children attended Hatfield Pre-school. They both loved the school. The environment is prepared to accommodate their needs in so many ways. The teachers are very respectful and display kindness that our children were able to witness. The teaching materials are practical and makes learning enjoyable. The outdoor activities including the play ground is amazing. Maria Montessori said one test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child. Our children were very happy at Hatfield Montessori and we believe that the school has equipped them with good foundation for life. They still have fond memories. We as parents are very happy to have found the school. I belive it is one of the best pre-schools in Pretoria.

How do I explain what a remarkable school Hatfield Montessori is..I thought a fitting way to do so would be a few “reviews” from my 2 kids that actually go there,1. The first thing my daughter says when she wakes up on a Saturday morning, my sunflower plant grew at school..beaming smile on her face.2. Hannelie teaches us all about bugs says my son and daughter proudly.3. Kate cooks us delicious food at school.Hatfield Montessori is a special little world that my kids have fallen in love with. They are developing in such an extraordinary way and this school has a huge part to play in this.The teachers and staff are always friendly, ever ready to listen if there are concerns and display such kindness and caring to my little ones.This is a really special school with very special people at the heart of it!!!

This is the best pre-school I could think of for my daughter. The teachers truly care about the wholistic development of every child. The kids are treated with respect and so they learn to respect each other. They explore the nature by doing some gardening activities and looking after school pets, they follow the peace programme and learn to resolve conflicts by discussion. This is the place where you feel that your child is allowed to be who they are and be guided in leaning by their interests, so that going to school is something my daughter is always looking forward to! Am so grateful to the school stuff that my daughter is having this beautiful experience.

A truely beautiful sanctury of learning, Kindness and nature for young children. They learn so much about life, friendship, kindness, and nature.. They are encouraged to be themselves and express their passions and skills all in the nurturing safe environment. My daughters favourite things are climbing the trees, feeding the Guinea pigs and planting in the garden. She tells me how they learn to be nice to each other and it is evident how much the teachers care.. The best school in Pretoria.

Hatfield Montessori Preschool is a hidden gem in the heart of Pretoria!This school lets every child discover, learn and grow at their own pace, raising confident little individuals. The teachers are incredibly caring, committed and patient.They create a nurturing environment where kids can just be kids and learn so much through the Montessori approach, covering everything from earth worms to astronomy, gardening to guinea pigs, and courtesy to yoga.Its such a pleasure to see the kids running and playing in the large garden!Do yourself a favor and go experience it for yourself!

Absolutely brilliant school! The teachers really value the children and create a wonderful and rich learning environment for them. Our children love going to school and have become so confident and inquisitive.

If you are a parent who understands the importance of a childs first years of life, you will consider Hatfield Montessori Pre-School.The school offers a holistic educational environment to my boys: all aspects of their development are just as important. Besides academic skills like reading, writing and math, here are some of the skills my boys are learning: social skills; conflict management and peace making (never too early to sit down at the peace table); being independent and self-sufficient (preparing and serving themselves the daily snack), love and respect for nature (an actual gardener helps them take care of the vegetable garden each week), gross motor skills (a fabulous space with plenty of trees to climb and room for free play), art and music with a professional music teacher, and yoga, to name a few!They could not be happier to play with Nessa, the school dog, every day, feed the guinea pig and the fish. I wish I had such a homey, lovely school as a kid!!

Shan Ellis is one of the most amazing person I know. Her love and dedication to her children is admirable. She played a significant influence in our son, Ryan de Sousas life. She encouraged him to be himself and to never doubt in his ability to grow and shine. This helped him to grow into a rounded young man who would follow his dream to become a Chef. He could not fulfill this dream as he passed away to soon.But Shan has to this day played a vital role in our lives. Supporting and comforting us. That is Shan .... Always there even years after her children has moved on. I will recommend Hatfield Montessori to any one!!
