Rosemary Hill is a green lung for the residents of Pretoria City. Walking and Cycling routes abound. You pass through fields of lavender, forests and open fields. After you have finished your walk/cycle you can pop into the restaurant for a tasty breakfast.Accommodation is amazing. And I can go on and on...but go and see for yourself.

Wonderful getaway just a stone throw out of Pretoria but truly feels like you experience that farm life bliss. Beautiful horses to ride and lovely space to take nice early morning walks. Lets get to the accommodation part - there are many options but all have that glamorous edge and if you are into design and tiny home stays you are in for a treat. The restaurant has incredible food and a good variety and the breakfasts are lovely! I will be back many times over!

Stayed at the stone cottage. Wonderful getaway, safe and quiet. Grounds are well suited for mountain biking (seems like mostly level terrain but didnt personally use the trails). 20 odd minutes from Pretoria.Well kept grounds.Evening supper was was very tasty !Breakfast was solid too.

Beautiful scenic place. There are routes for hiking as well as Mount biking. We had breakfast at the Cafe, and they did not disappoint. The food was so yummy. Plus it was a bit cold out so we really enjoyed the fire place. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice trails and good atmosphere. Went there early morning to do their hiking trail, 11km very flat easy trail. You wander deep in nature past pecan nut trees and stables. R40 gets you in. Lovely restaurant too, worth a trip.

We stayed in the loft apartment. Beautiful and clean with all the basics. I enjoyed the segway tour around the farm. Food was good. Staff were friendly. Beautiful countryside. Definitely going back. Loved every minute.

We visited Rosemary Hill for a Segway tour of the farm. While there was a bit of history provided by our guide, I was a bit disappointed. It felt like a marketing tour showing us all their accommodation options. The Segway was quite fun to ride and there was sufficient guidance provided in how to use it. Overall, I wouldnt recommend the tour because I could get the same information from the website.

Nice place 2 chill with family & friends & a lot 2 do especially when looking 4 outdoor activities for both kids & adults. Its a pity the restaurant closed at 15h00 on Saturday, it would be nice to extend the closing time to be at least 17h00 (weekends)

Stayed in the studios:No hangers for clothing in the unit, the bed was extremely uncomfortable.The food at the coffee shop was good, the service was poor.The dirt road to access the facility was poor, the narrow internal roads had large trenches on either side which made driving at night quite precarious.In the morning the facility is full of cyclists who present an everpresent danger to pedestrians, pets and vehicles alike. And despite the official closing time of 3pm, cyclists continue to ride around until after 5pm without any concern to facility staff.The hot tub is unusable in the summer sun due to the extreme temperatures.At the night time event, facility staff only lit the braziers at 10pm

The place is just over an hours drive from Jhb. Quite and secluded. Great area for kids entertainment. The presentation of the food is on point. Reasonably priced and delicious food if I may add. Had a good relaxed outing with my ladies. Need to check the hiking trail

A fantastic stay at the pods! So much detail and love are present in the pods. We had a few visits from ducks and other bird species. The atmosphere on the farm is energetic and refreshing. They offer many activities for children and adults alike.There is one thing I have to bring to light and thats the amount I had to pay for extra Rooibos tea bags. Being an avid fan, I went to the coffee shop and asked for some extra bags. They charged me R20 per bag. During a previous stay, they gave me a few extra for free. I dont mind paying extra, but R20 is a bit ridiculous.Nonetheless, a must add to your breakaway list!

The place is amazing...just as advertised, if you want to really get away from all the noise, be surrounded by trees in gorgeous cabins, then I highly recommend it.

Rosemary Hill has a variety of activities to choose from. We did the 11 km hiking trail, which is flat and easy. The trail is mostly single track but some sections of the trail are double track (dirt roads), which is not ideal, since we had to get out of the way for some cars driving on the premises, either to get to their accomodation or to the other activities.We also came across many mountain bikers during our walk, as the hiking trails and mountain biking trails are in close proximity to each other, and even merge at some points. Because it is quite a popular mountain biking spot, some hikers might find this a bit off-putting.However, we still enjoyed the farm scenery - its a bit different from the other hiking venues in Pretoria. Id love to see all the lavender bushes and rosemary bushes in full bloom, so we will definitely return. Wed also like to interrupt our walk with a brunch at the café during our next visit.

Great views. I would rather recommend people riding their bike here than going for a walk. I hear it is pretty boring. I have done a few races here that were great but I assume we run on the MTB trails.

A really lovely setup. Walked the 5km route and it was comfortable. Facilities are very well kept and the food at the coffee shop s great. Really worthwhile.

What a STUNNING place! We loved our stay at Zenkaya on Rosemary Hill Farm.The whole experience from start to fun was 10/10. The staff are super friendly, the running trails are fantastic and the accommodation is very unique.Highly recommended to all from couples to families! This place has something for everyone.

The accommodation itself was clean and aesthetic but all very close together - no privacy at all. The place overall just had a very chaotic and uneasy feeling to it because of all the different aspects that didn’t flow well together. The biggest issue I had with Rosemary hill was the picnic experience. I requested a vegan basket and had to wait around 45min for it to be prepared even though I booked a week prior. The salad also had cheese in it and nothing was particularly fresh. Just wasn’t worth it.

At wedding,bar staff where missing,we had to help our guests.Tables where not clean in between drinks.With breakfast no one could indicate where we must sit.With braai no glasses of variety drinks we had were on the table.The last breakfast together in hall no milk for porridge or honey.Food is good but salad leaves was a little bit off.The DJ was terrible.A list was given but he didnt play.Full of stories.

A gem of a place with beautiful views and hidden spots and stops to enjoy nature at its best. Fun activities for the whole family from acrobranching to awesome bike trails suitable for each level. Take your own bike or for rent. The multiple wedding venues are spectacular!

The trails are awesome, clean and clearly marked, however the coffee shop can up their game a bit. Staff need to work on their service. We stood at the entrance and about six staff members walked pass us and did not acknowledge us. We were not screened at the entrance of the coffee shop and it was said we can seat ourselves. Took us a while to find a suitable seat. Also took a while for a waitress to come and take our order. Wind was a bit rough outside and menus were blowing all over the place. Again, various waiting staff walked past the menu that was laying on the ground without picking it up. I got the feeling that staff had a if it is not my job, I am not going to do it attitude. At least we did not wait too long for our food after ordering and we did give the waitress a good tip. Seems that waiting staff are a bit all over the place. Cleaning up and packing away tables and chairs from a event as well as seeing to customers at the coffee shop, maybe that is why we did not get the appropriate level of service. All and all, not too bad of an experience, would go there again. Just hope to see a bit more enthusiasm from waiting staff.

Wonderful place with great single track routes. There is beginner, intermediate and some advanced. Horses, cows and various nut trees that one can ride through.Coffee shop and accommodation.

It was like a dream come through in just a day visit! Weather was not favouring but we sure did have a wonderful day spent at the pod! I definitely recommend a stay here! We had an amazing experience at Rosemary Hill. We booked one of their semi-private venues for my parents birthdays. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The function coordinator (Chaily) went out of her way to assist and helped make things run effortlessly. All the guests thought the food was delicious. RH is a very special venue. Thank you for helping make my parents day special.

Hiking trails clearly marked, a must do hiking trail for outdoor lovers with interesting views and animals at some points of the path (cows, horses) did not spot any monkeys during our hike. Sufficient parking with car guards.Unfortunately for us, due to a wedding that was booked we could not dine at any of the restaurants after our hike.

The venue is beautiful, I think its worth visiting in summer rather than winter, if you love scenery, its a great venue for weddings, the restaurant is extremely slow on Saturdays due to catering for the weddings taking place. Bycle trails available, they have a day care for children (payable of course)

Its a very beautiful layed back little farm. The vibe is on another level. The different sleeping arrangements are to die for. On both my visits I was impressed.

The hike is nice for novices its flat and easy however very dry and dusty at this time of the year if you are looking for a more scenic hike look elsewhere . Restaurant and amenities are very nice and clean and good for breakfast.

We went to Rosemary Hill on the strength of a discerning friend. Took a family member there for her birthday. We waited for 1.5hrs for our food which arrived in drips and drabs. We fetched our own cutlery and condiments. When itbdid come, the order was prepared incorrectly. After we had paid, the waitress appeared with a plate for our table.The food was however tasty. We checked with our friend and this person went to another venue on the premises. We were at the Cafe nearest to the first entrance. The manager gave all the ladies in our group a complimentary Rosemary plant. Will we go back? Maybe. Maybe today our table was the one where everything went wrong. Perhaps we will take our friend.

A nice relaxed trail for the 5 km, the 11km is more worth it as it traverses the other farms and hence different fauna and flora to see. Still easy on the legs and knees, generally flat. Recommended for novice hikers or those seeking a quick break from the city but want dont want the heaviness of more tougher hike routes. Enjoyed the time there 😊

Rosemary Hill is magical! We spent 2 nights in the Zenkaya, and its a designers dream. Everything is so thoughtfully considered and designed, plus it comes with complimentary delicious snacks (which never happens these days anymore). The restaurants on site make delicious food at very affordable prices. Would definitely recommend for a romantic break.

Really gem of a place ,not too far off from the highway. So easy to find and well sign 📫 posted. A little piece of dirt road so save time for that and rive ⚠️ cautiously.I had to deliver a wedding cake, when arrived at the entrance , the security guard was expecting me (hats off to events coordinator) and contacted relevant people.I then easily navigated to the delivery point and gained easy access to the venue.The decor and venue were gorgeous, rustic but tastefully so - grwt place to host a small intimate wedding or even a big one. They have 3 different size venues , up to 200 seater.Chapel on site too. A must visit for a prospective bride and then you can visit Baked by Nataleen for your wedding cake. 😉P.s events coordinator was a hun in assisting me to get hold of family to pay balance. So they really go the extra mile.

What a beautiful place to cycle. Easy sections and some difficult sections. After our ride we sat down for a meal and this too was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was great as it was not a very long wait to receive our order and everyone got their food at the same time. Im going back this weekend to do it all again.

The service was abismal. Order picnic baskets in advance. Get there still not ready. An hour later still waiting for them to get it right. Half the stuff they dont have. Complain about it. The management couldnt care. In fact laughed about it. Absolute worst experience. Spoke to 6 other groups on the day and all had something to complain about.

Lovely place. But restaurant closed on Saturday evenings, so you have to either stay hungry or go and find a restaurant 6-7km away.

It was always such a nice place to visit and eat at but this time we were rather disappointed with the food. Hope they will pay attention to better food.

Great accommodation but not too many options on their restaurant menu.

I guess its okay when Covid-19 restrictions dont apply, or youre not staying over. The staff appear demoralised by current circumstances and make no effort to be accommodating. If you arrive even a minute before your official check-in time, look forward to sitting and waiting on the grass, because one restaurant doesnt allow sit-downs and the other one is always full.

Beautiful venue even in the dry Highveld winter....cant wait to return in the summer when the veld is green and lush. Well marked hiking trails and great for beginners, families or the more experienced and fitter person. Nice restaurant to grab a bite to eat afterwards and also s cute little tuk-tuk selling coffee for the early birds. Friendly staff and plenty of safe parking with security guards.

I loved everything about Rosemary Hills. If you need a weeding venue, I highly recommend it.

Lovely for picnic. Friendly staff and fun hiking trails. Just not happy with the road outside Rosemary Hill. It is not paved and my small car really did not enjoy the gravel road haha.

Lovely venue with many options. Garden maze was disappointing as the bushes are too low creation openess and calm rather than a bit of trepidation not seeing where you are. Maybe its too new but some hedges are of correct height.

We did MTB trails 10 km and it was awesome. The nature is beautiful there with well marked trails. One who enjoys being in woods will feel at peace

I had a great afternoon here, started of with a short walk then had lunch. MacD was very friendly, patient and helpful when he served us.

We walked the 10km trail. It is very well maintained and very scenic. Afterwards we ate lunch at the restaurant, the food was OK, but the service could improve.

This place is a must go. Located in the outskirts of PTA but definitely worth the drive. The hiking trails are beginner friendly. Its a good place to reset.

Awesome place for hiking and enjoying breakfast. They have morden accommodation and event venues. I love the Country kids club where you can leave your children while you enjoy the lovely views of Rosemary hill farm.

This was lovey. But better communication about where the breakfast room is. Everything is marked the same. Its a big property and more than one person got lost. Not only that, ours was not the oy party to make this error. Meaning they definitely need to do better with this portion. Other than that. Its a wonderful place.

We went out for a Sunday drive to have a look. the farm is very beautiful. If you are coming for one of the activities like the walks or biking then i am sure it is well worth it. if you are going for a drive and to get some food then i would recommend choosing a less busy time than a weekend. there was a lot of people and there was a wait time for the coffee shop/restaurant. it is also a wedding venue and the amenities overlap so if there is a weeding on then it gets even more busy and you wont be able to see everything the place has to offer. the waffles and cake we did eat was fantastic. so again visit on off peak times if possible.

Excellent venue for MTB rides. The restaurant is a very pleasant place for the whole family and the food that is served is scrumptious and reasonably priced. Very clean and very neat.

It is wonderful to see how this venue developed over the years. New seating areas are added and the gardens look inviting and green. The food are great and it located close to town. Great venue for small groups and the accommodation is affordable and cossy. We love the live bands and other events they host there. A great place to visit with family and friends.
