Had a wonderful experience taking my mom and friends to the October Rose Festival! The blooms were lovely, we enjoyed the cute displays set up for the festival and adored spending the day surrounded by roses and a soft breeze. We enjoyed the little tractor ride through the rose fields, it was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The staff is very helpful and kind, I got many kind compliments form the lovely ladies working at the Gin table and the restaurant. Youll be pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the ladies restroom Id (and smelled fantastic!) Make sure to grab one of the great smelling sanitizers they sell.Would highly recommend getting the Rose Milkshake! It was delicious πŸ˜πŸ’•

The Rose Festival held annually in October is an absolute must for those who love these flowers! Walk through the gardens and choose plants to take home or check out the stunning displays of cut flowers in the hall and breath in the beautiful scent. The shop also stocks all sorts of rose-related products that are not readily found elsewhere, and the tractor/trailer rides are a hit with children. However, service at the on site restaurant is a bit chaotic on festival days so you may want to postpone tea or lunch until your next visit to the rose farm...(All photos here are my own)

What a lovely place to visit! There is no entry fee. They have a very quaint restaurant with a play area for children. The menu is a bit limited but there are very interesting options to choose from. I especially loved all the cocktail options that had a rose fusion to it.The service was good at the restaurant but could be a little bit warmer. In the same area is a gift shop, that is a definite must to check out! Some of the items can be a a bit pricey but it’s certainly worth it. You can find edibles that are rose infused or even rose scented oils and a such.We had a lovely tractor ride around the rose farm and during which we would stop at points where the driver would step out to collect some roses for us to smell. You can also walk around to see all the beautiful varieties they have to offer. Should you fancy a plant, someone will assist with the purchasing of the item.A definite for anyone who would like to try something new or just have a relaxed outing.

Beautiful Day. Great setting, I enjoyed a very informative workshop. Would love to come back when in full bloom. I like that all the staff are very knowledgeable and willing to share information. Restaurant has a limited menu for vegetarians. Salad portion larger than expected, a little overpriced but service was very friendly.

All the flowers are beautifull and very neat and everything is in place. Bathrooms very clean. Restaurant is a complete let down.... So much potential wasted... Very disappointing and slow service. We ordered drinks on arrival.... We waited 40mins and received WARM milkshakes.... Yes I know... How is this even possible?? Ordered food... Waited almost an hour... When food arrived we asked to order drinks and she told us that she will be with us shortly.... After our food was finished we had to call our waitress and ask if you can please order that drinks?? Waited 15mins and only half of the drinks arrived... My wife still wanted to order apple pie and ice cream but the heat was so severe (no aircons or fans) that we decided to order the apple pie as take a way after we walked through the roses. We went back.. Ordered it and asked for a plastic spoon or something to eat it in the car and was told sorry we dont have.... Maybe you should say that when we order and not after paying and receiving it...a restaurant without plastic spoons... Laughable.

I visited this National icon over the weekend on a Sunday. It was really great if you are into flowers in general and roses in particular.I am impressed to see the many species of roses on display and being cultivated with such care and attention. This nursery is the gold standard when it comes to buying roses, and no avid rose enthusiast can plan a rose garden without paying them a visit.Make sure you have a lot of time, because it is not an in and out type of place.

Beautiful roses and loads of them.I previously ate their croissant with cream and rose jam and it was a delicious warm and crispy croissant with fresh cream and jam. Today I ordered the same and got a cold, flat croissant which was almost definitely straight out of the pack. We did not get any cream just margerine and jam. I was then charged R58 for it. I would pay that any day for the previous croissant but not for a croissant straight out of a packet.

Service was absolutely shocking. No greeting on arrival. Tables not set properly - not even basics like sugar on the table. We were ignored at our table once we sat down. Quality of food very poor. And sadly not the first time we experienced this here. Everybody deserves a second chance but definitely not a third!Edit 12/12/2020: Since the owner have taken over the restaurant management things have improved alot. Smaller menu, but what they served was really good. Still one of my special places - all the lovely roses make up for alot!

As a photography fan this rose farm turns into a dream during the early summer months. It is really a colourful explosion. Take your time walking through the nursery. Visit the shop and treat yourself to a lovely bunch of flowers. The restaurant is awesome. They serve breakfast and lunch. Nice fresh salads as well. Even if you do not have small kids, walk to the back and enjoy the garden created at the kiddies playground. You can also organize big functions on the property. A short drive from Pretoria and Joburg.

Great venue for a wedding! Has large play area for the kids. Reception hall is fairly big with clean facilities throughout the evening. Cash bar expensive is per norm at such events. The honeymoon suite could be improved to make it more special. Unfortunately, no other accommodation on the venue itself and very limited in the area.

What a lovely place. Then you sit at a table in the restaurant...dying from no fans or doors opened to let a draft through. After ordering waitor told us they dont have ice cream for milkshake. Then we ask for a different drink same this is also not available. 3rd times the charm. After getting the food I lift up the bread baquette only to find it is raw. Burger patty was overcooked, no juicyness. After this the waitor offers us cakes I turn to look at the cake stand nothing is there. Severely disappointed.

A vast area of rose bushes of every variety you can think of. April/ May probably best to visit to catch them in all their glory. Most are for sale at a reasonable price. The coffee shop/ restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere. Everything is β€œrose” themed as one would expect, but feels a bit too rosy even without my rose tinted glasses. The food is decent, not amazing. It is however ridiculously overpriced for what it is. Add to that the unapologetic appallingly low speed of service. I suggest having a bite to eat if you have cash to burn and all the time in the world to wait for service. Also, I don’t think they accept cash, only debit/credit cards.

Nursery- Absolutely amazing. Lovely choice of roses and the gentleman was so helpful.Restaurant- Rather have tea/ coffee. We had a baguette which was basically a hot dog roll, stale crisps. I had a cocktail which tasted like water... for R50. NOT worth the price at all, I would rather starve or go to mac donalds(I never go there) Service is appalling. This place has SO much potential for families with kids, this is why we came here. The play areas are amazing, there is a variety of equipment.PLEASE work on the quality of food and service as I have not had a bad experience like this in ages!!!

Just had lunch at the cafe. Order took 40 minutes. The tomato and basil pesto tart with feta cheese consisted of a dry pastry case with a thin smear of pesto. Two tinned tomatoes, uncooked, not even warmed, dumped on top and two squares of feta. R94. Worst meal Ive had in ages

Started off with a park run, basic 5km run/walk over the lovely grounds. Outside tea garden is beautiful and you can have your glas of wine there with green pastures and the sound of falling, running water streams surrounding you. If you mind kids then rather sit inside the restaurant area. The quant little shop offers interesting buys and the workers are welcoming and friendly. Rose farm: Not mentioning all the rose variaties, wonderful and beautiful. The smell of fresh roses everywhere! Not sure if the elderly man with his worn and interesting hat is the owner or manager but he was doodling around all day checking this, checking that around the farm. Reminded me of the French and Italian farmers who loves the land and grows one with it, growing weathered but wiser and wouldnt choose to spend their days any other way.Anastasia, great hostess and service. Thanks for a lovely brunch and nature.

Visited the farm today and was very dissapointed, I took a picture of the main entrance comming off from the highway and I must say it was not very attractive for a first impression one wants. The grass was not cut and the grass at the parking area the same. Im aware that the roses might not be as good due to the hot weather we had lately, but no excuse for the rest of the area. The food we ordered was not as good as I expected. I ordered the chicken meatballs, and I expected something like meatballs, but got a chicken schnitchel/patty/something looked like a fish cake, the only thing true to the name was chicken. When the food arrived it looked attractive with such a lot of flowers, leaves, nuts, more leaves, twigs, pettals, on the plate/wood serving board!! I had to search for the chicken patty/cakes on a panini. The wooden dish that is given instead of a plate is not at all user friendly!!! More detail goes into decoration rather than taste or quality of the food. The price for a panini and two small chicken cakes is not worth the money. The roses made up for the bad experience I had today!!
