What an awesome place! They have so many styles and options for a wide variety of sizes and ages. From matric farewell dresses to bridesmaids dresses to even mother of the bride dresses. Also prices that suit a variety of budgets.Staff is very helpful, and the owner is truly amazing. She has a brilliant eye for style and knows exactly what will look exquisite for your body type. Mercia you are not just brilliant but an amazing person! You always make me feel fabulous.Someone left a review saying that we are not allowed to look around and choose for ourselves but that simply isnt true.Whenever I wanted to look around to browse for myself all the staff has been more than friendly and I always felt comfortable there.And I have been there probably more than 6 times. Each time I was met with a friendly, professional owner and staff.

WORST experience! Terrible customer service, dirty dresses and dishonest.Consultant was playing on her phone the whole time. Never made an effort to actually help. Two of the dresses was so dirty that I didnt even want to put them on. Saw how a pricetag got pulled of before telling me a complete different price.Extremely dissatisfied!

I found a wedding dress which I paid a deposit for. It did not fit me and was very poorly pinned for tailoring in the shop. The designers are not allowed to see the clients, so the shop workers pin the dress. When I got the dress back it was so badly tailored that the dress didnt even cover my ankles and the back of the dress was totally skewed.The worst part was what came after. Constant blatant lying, lack of transparency and false promises from the Shop owner. She would never contact me for an update, but when I called her for an update she always had this nasty irritation in her voice.Months of wasted time and energy on this place.

I love this place, so professional and friendly. Vanessa looked at my shape of my body. Fetch a dress that I loved and actually purchased it. NB I suffer with ADD so that says alot. Thank you HSC

Everyone rant and rave about this place, but I lost all my respect for the owner of this institution. She open stands and discuss her clients, who were obviously not satisfied with the service, with another employee in front of other clients. Clearly she want to portray a image of being professional but behavior like that is not professional. I will strongly not recommend this place to anyone. If you do it once you will do it everytime you get an opportunity. Sorry House of Superior Clothing but youre not as cranked up as everyone is claiming you to be.

I accompanied my wife recently to House of Superior Clothing. I was very impressed by the fact that the owner herself spent time with my wife, and even suggested items of clothing that my wife would normally not concider, and in the end it created a whole new style for for her! A few weeks ago, I accompanied a friend to get a dress at HSC. I browsed and found beautiful day wear, while I was fitting, this irritated blond women which I presume is the owner kept on bringing me other clothes to try on. Today I saw the SAME clothes she was insisting I try on at the oriental city for a quarter of the price. Is this what they call SUPERIOR CLOTHING...

I am from Cape Town. I always make sure whenever I am in Pretoria, I pop in to House of Superior Clothing. I always find something special and the professional service is always spot on.

My daughters school friend went to HSC, asked to see the designer Gerrit and was told that they had lots of designers that could help her. Owner then tried to scribble what the girl wanted without success, because she is obviously NOT A DESIGNER.I was going to take my own daughter there for her matric dance but decided against it, seeing that we not allowed to deal with the designers of our choice that work from the premises.Shocking!

They specifically asked for Gerrit Pienaar.You are not a designer and you dont support your designers. Period.I know people that have worked for you in the past that told me that you give the sales people strict orders NOT TO sell other designers dresses.You are a very dishonest person. Very bad service. Made an appointment but stil waited so long, when we complained we were told its worth the wait as the owner was going to help us, she then filled the fitting room with dresses for my aunt to try on. Owner was all over the place, came towards us only when my aunt came out the fitting room, all she could say was BEAUTIFUL! where my aunt looked ridiculous in it, very old styles for a young aunt.We have since fond out that they rent dresses and then sell them as new. No wonder the clothes looked 2nd hand.A friend of mine also bought a dress there that needed an alteration, they said they would source it out, came back very badly done.

Bad service. Very disappointed. Made a appointment- got a very irritated blond lady. Made bad comments about my taste and brides colour scheme. Gave me to a consultant that tried. Not at all what I wanted. Some clothes smell like sweat😓.

Staff is friendly and helpful, but the experience lacked intimacy and felt a little impersonal because they were very busy and at times it was a little crowded. They allow you to fit as many dresses as you want which is excellent but I think it also unfortunately contributes to some of the dresses having a bit of a worn look and unfortunately, if it is a one-of-a-kind dress, you might have to be satisfied with professional touch-ups to make the dress look new again.That being said, there are definitely options for other dresses to be ordered in specific colours or materials if the one in store is not exactly what you want.

Not impressed by this store, filled in an appointment booking request on the webpage. Was sent a whattsapp by Mercia and asked my daughters size etc... also asked what school she attends.. after she noted that we are from Meyerton and not a fancy suburb she did not even bother to answer my whattsapp.... will not reccommend this store to anybody....

I have been dressed by them for the weddings of all three my sons. Have been very happy with every outfit, not so happy with the service the last time. I live far from Pta and always make appointments. The last time I even mailed the owner. She said I should let her know when I would be coming as she wanted to help me personally. I mailed her the date and time and we confirmed an appointment. I arrived only to find she was not even on the premises that day. I was however assisted well enough. It was a Saturday and the dress had to be made smaller. The guy doing the adjustment came and pinned the dress and I was instructed to collect it just before they close. I paid cash up front for the work. I arrived hours later to find no adjustments done and the seamstresses had left. I was asked to collect it the Monday. When I told them again that I live 350km from Pta, they called another lady there that assisted while I waited another 45 minutes. I was later refunded for the adjustments but will I eventually go back for a dress for my daughter’s wedding? I doubt.

Lovely range of dresses assists so well with everything. Will suggest this place to young and elderly ladies.

After sending photos of dresses before hand, they said that they have the same style dresses and colours in stock but after arriving there the sales lady told us that they dont and that the styles would lool ugly on us anyway. Terrible experience with rude staff.

Good selection of cloths for all sizes of women

I had heard about the mean service from the sales staff and they didn’t disappoint. My daughter and her friend went to find matric dance dresses. At first, the staff did not want to let them in without an appointment until they saw the chauffeur and heard that they went to private schools. Whilst in the shop they were harassed to hurry up in the change rooms and to buy the most expensive dresses. Needless to say, the girls left as soon as they could.

Very helpful and friendly until you tell them they dont have what you want or you would like time to consider buying one of their very expensive dresses then they get mean and nasty about it and tell you not to steal their ideas. Verbally attacking a client thats young and to afraid to stand up against you, NOT NICE.

I enjoyed the say yes to the dress feel of the place. The attendant was very friendly and helpful which made the whole experience a pleasure.

The range of ready made dresses is impressive but i had a dress made for me and I literally had to have the jacket redone the dress was not the same material as the one I tried on. I asked for tea length and got a long dress the consultant measures you and passes your measurements to the dressmaker. I asked for a bolero jacket and got a Chanél length jacket which was to big for me and then altered by a seamstress who altered my jacket backpanel to fit me but left the front panels wide so that the shoulder seems to be falling off the shoulders. The shoulder straps of the dress were shortened by the seamstress in such a way that it made folds under my Jacket as it was shortened straight and not at an angle.

They sell dresses for occasions, such as matric dance, mother of the bride. Appointments must be made for girls looking for matric dance dresses. Good service and attention given to customers.

Very bad experience. We waited 25min for a consultant just to tell us that we must leave and book an appointment for another time because we wanted to look around and not buy. Staff very rude and money driven, very arrogant and entitled. How must we buy a dress if we havent even looked around?! And why do we need a consultant?? Never coming back and not recommending this place at all.

Mercia, I sincerely hope you feel proud of yourself for making a 17 year old cry today because your store do not stock the style she wants (after she sent you 3 images in advance) and all the dresses in the store are size 14 (after she told you shes a size 8 - 10 in advance ). Instead of owning up that you cant help her, thus avoiding a waste of your time and ours, you where rude and condescending towards her trying to intimidate her into paying an exorbitant amount for a dress she doesnt want and that is three sizes to big.
