I was swindled out of my money by Tyron at Spares4Africa. I was supplied an incorrect part. When I returned said part, he tried to fix another faulty one as a replacement. Giving assurance that should it not work, then I can come for a replacement or refund.He is going back on his word and I am left with an egg on my face and R3450 hole in my pocket. I have bought parts before at this place and never got any problems.Not sure why he didnt just refund me the fist time I came to ask for a refund instead of trying to fix a faulty part to supply to me, give assurances and then go back on his word. I feel wronged here. R3450 is a lot of money.

Appalling service! Spoke to Marcel and asked for a mirror for a Hyundai Tucson. He quoted me and told me the part was available. I told him I was coming to fetch the part and drove 100km to fetch it just for him to tell me he sold it earlier. He had my number and didnt bother calling me to tell me he had sold my part . By far the worst experience and after sales ive ever had with any motor or spares company in my life!Bought a complete motor from the, when i drove 450km to collect is was the wrong motor, they promised me they will courrier the next day, waited a month, then I had to pay the courier myself. After installing and testing we found that motor had no compression, opening up we found motor was completely rusted inside. Experienced the worst service from spare 4 Africa, specifically from Marcel and Prince. Ive been looking for Renault Captur 2018 complete lockset to which lead me to them. on the 23rd of March 2020 I purchased a lock set from spares 4 Africa only to find that the item was different to that I was looking for, though I promised by the expert himself Marcel. The following day (24th) I went back to Pretoria, mind you I am temporarily based in Krugersdorp and needed to head out Durban by Wednesday (25th). on the 24th I specifically requested a refund (R 7 500.00) in order to look around for the correct part, IT IS NOW THE 27th AND COUNTING AND STILL WITHOUT NO REFUND!

I bought a gear box from these guys on the 23rd of August 2019 (I am from Cape Town-) they sent me a gearbox that wasnt working at all. They asked me to send it back which i did. It is now over a month , they have not provided me with another gearboix and they are stalling for a refund. I spent almost R20000 combined costs so far(purchase price, courier to and from,fitting and removing twice) for this gearbox alone. They asked me to give them time to work on it,or get a new one to whch they sad if they do not they will give me a refund.. The deadlines they gave me have passed . The sales man was Michael Van Dyk- was only so keen to sell me the box but now i you do not follow up on him thats it and you get one excuse over the other. I have tried to request to speak to someone else- the manager or the director with fail. I have tried being reasonable through it all and understanding but it seems they are just now taking advantage. I regret ever making a purchase there and i have lost a lot over the past weeks which i even expressed to the sales man but he does not even give a damn!I do hope that with this review of utter dismay someone can contact me and i can just get my refund and move on

Bought a starter on the 13/7/2019 10:54 that was not working called the sales man Abel back on Monday 15//7/2019 at 15:37 and never came back to me so needless to say had to find a starter elsewhere today the 17/07/2019 they refuse to give me my money back worst service ever ...Even the manger Andre was not of any help..worst place ever .......In terms of s56 (read with s55) of the CPA, all goods sold to a consumer are sold with an implied warranty of quality, that cannot be contracted out of or revoked. The warranty gives the consumer the right to receive goods that:are reasonably suitable for the purpose that they are intended to be used for,are of good quality, free of defects and in good working order, andwill be durable and usable for a reasonable period of time.If goods are found not to comply with these requirements then, for up to 6 months after receiving the goods, the consumer can:return the goods, orget the goods replaced, orget the goods repaired.The consumer can do any of these things without penalty and at the suppliers cost. A general ‘voetstoots‘ clause will be insufficient.However, a consumer will not be able to return the goods because it was defective or not suitable for the purpose if:the consumer was made aware of the specific defects, andthe consumer agreed to receive the goods in that condition.A general ‘voetstoots’ clause will be insufficient to get out of the s56 warranty, because you have to mention the specific defects.A word on ‘refunds’In-store vouchers or credits are not illegal per seWherever the CPA entitles a consumer to a refund, it must be interpreted to mean that the consumer has the election on how to receive the refund. This means that while refunds as in-store vouchers or credits are not illegal per se, if the consumer demands a cash refund the supplier must give it to them. After Ive heard that I not only had to replace the clutch on my AC compressor, but the entire unit, it was a mission finding a decent part at a good price. After Ive started to whatsapp with Jacques where pictures were exchanged and within a day we could agree on a price. What I liked most about dealing with Jacques is the flexibility and tailor made solution. Im in CPT and they are in PTA, but within two days they had the part delivered at R135, which was just awesome. Well done guys and keep up the good work.
