I approached RMS, after doing quite some homework as to how the address the Toyota 86 mid range power dip issue. I ended up doing the headers and flex fuel to address the issue. Amazing result. It is a different vehicle and well worth it. I dealt with Rikus directly. Rikus has undoubtedly been doing this for a while and is very knowledgeable on what modifications may provide what results. Good Advice received. Very friendly professional and upbeat and always kept me up to date every step of the way. Received pictures of the progress and I continuously knew exactly what was happening. Work done is extremely neat and without asking, I noted my old header in the boot, just in case I ever wish to revert to stock and or want to sell the vehicle stock.

RMS installed UEL headers on my 86, under 2 hours, while I caught up on work. They also fixed up a few other small issues with car at no extra cost. Much improved mid-range torque, and a very happy customer!

While all of the other reviews have been about the immediate service that people have received from RMS, this review is about longevity.It’s has been a little over a year since I got my car back from RMS after having a stage 2 supercharger upgrade done, along with a Delicious Tuning FlexFuel conversion, Deatschwerks fuel pump and injector upgrade and 4 map Delicious Tune. This is a major amount of work, with a lot of things having to be considered to make sure it all works. And not just work for now, but to work consistently into the future.While performing the upgrade, RMS identified a problem with the direct injectors in the engine block and took it upon themselves to send them off to be cleaned and flow tested. They could not, in good conscience, continue the upgrade before making sure the foundation of the platform they were building on was absolutely perfect. They even replaced the seals on the direct injectors. The direct injectors were almost like new after all of this work.Also, during this upgrade, Toyota issued a valve spring recall for the 2012/2013 GT86. My vehicle was affected by this recall and needed to go to Toyota to have the valve springs replaced. The problem with this, was that RMS was already half-way through the upgrade! The exhaust had already been upgraded with a Rogue Performance system, and the supercharger system was already installed. So, in true RMS fashion, they reversed all the work they had done, put on a stock exhaust system and sent my car in for the value spring recall. RMS even oversaw the work Toyota was doing while performing the valve spring recall and also managed to get them to install an ACT performance clutch system while the engine was out! I challenge you to find any other automotive performance company that would go to these lengths to provide customer service on this level.After the car came back from Toyota, the rest of the of the upgrade was done to full completion.A whole year later, I’ve not had one single issue with the work performed. It’s as if the car came from the Toyota factory, fully tested and working according to spec, just with a hell of a lot more power.Even more upgrades have been performed during this time, Whiteline bushings, Powerbrake discs and HEL Performance stainless steel brake lines, and more. Once again, not one thing ever failing or causing issues.Because of this, nobody else will ever touch the mechanics of my car. RMS has proven themselves to be beyond competent, elite not just in their engineering, but in their customer service and customer relationships.

Car feels amazing ans sounds even better. We had a little issue with a fussy ECU and the RMS team was able to gully redo a map just for my car the very next day. Small project to upgrade my low kilo 2013 NC....partially complete, awaiting upgraded clutch and brakes, but basically done in terms of the turbo installation. So far, not fully tuned we introduce the Piccola Furia GTT...i.e. Small Fury Granturismo Turbo. She is sizzling hot, and supremely tractable. No formal tests yet but on road performance suggests around 200 kW and is definitely quicker than 5 seconds 0-100 km/h. The guys , called multiple people and got my car a spot on another workshops lift just so i dont have to drive home and back again. I must admit that I am a little OCD when it comes to customer service but RMS did not dissapoint. From my initial query to me picking up the car , Rikus & Mardus went beyond my expectations. RMS installed a Sprintex supercharger , flexfuel , brakes & other bits & bobs on the car. and WOW!Their workmanship and attention to detail was outstanding. I am Durban based so driving to Pretoria to drop off the car was a hassle but after my experience I will be making that trip again soon to have more mods done on the car by RMS. The upside was I got to drive the new Supercharged Beast for 6 hours straight and loved every minute of it. Great dealing with Rikus, didnt mind the 70km drive. Fitted their headers and overripe, the car sounds insane now. Refreshing to see owners thats are so passionate, knowledgeable and ever ready to help with any questions.

I am a car guy and love my 86. It was due for a 60k km service and I wanted some other parts changed as preventative maintenance. I enquired of 2 Toyota dealerships on a service, and as my car missed its first service when it was in its plan, both dealerships insisted I do a 90k service which I wasn’t happy about. I met Rikus when I ordered my UEL headers and over pipe from him last year. After watching him install the parts you could see he knew the 86 very well. I soon realised that only RMS could do the service. Also bear in mind that my car is on air ride, and I don’t trust just anyone to drive it.I dropped the car off in a very filthy state and agreed on what was to be done and we agreed on a time for pick-up. Firstly, there were no delays and the car was ready at the time we agreed. Secondly, I was amazed at the customer service I received. The car was in a pristine state when I arrived. It was moved to the delivery area where every aspect of the service , and car in general, was discussed. What blew my mind was my engine bay. It was completely covered in dust and dirt when I dropped it off and was thoroughly and meticulously cleaned. Something that RMS was not inclined to do, and not something I was expecting.Pictures were taken of every part changed before and after. Replaced parts that were of potential concern, and therefore to be monitored, were discussed. Even a sample of my oil engine oil was saved for further testing if I wanted to. That there shows commitment to ensuring your car will always be in peak condition and shows that RMS cares and understands the relationship between customers and their cars. My D1 Spec wheel nuts were carefully removed and still look good as new. Pictures were taken of my wheels which had damage before removal of the wheel nuts which was something I was aware of, which just shows the attention to detail and effort that is put in by RMS. I opted for new brake discs and pads and the bedding in process was explained in detail.On the drive back home the car felt like a brand new car, with zero issues after the service. But the customer service didn’t stop there. There was a follow up from Rikus a day after to make sure the car was performing as it should and that oil levels were correct. Truly amazed and happy about the service. RMS is always helpful, and every ready with advice. After this I don’t think I will take my car to a dealership for a service!!

Mardus and Rikus offer an exceptional service from start to finish. I had my Power brakes and discs fitted by them for cheaper and better than most and was introduced to the Race Chip which I had fitted a week later and it took my VW Amarok to a new level! I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone!
