Its such an awesome place to spend weekend. Its feels like you at the East Cost by the ocean, but in actual fact its with in 30 min. Drive from anywhere in Preroria. Gym, Bar/Restaurant, SPA, Beach, Game Room...all inside. Very Safe place

The Blyde is a spectacular place, however Amici the restaurant is the worst. You need to budget an hour at most before you get your order. We waited till we couldnt any longer. Just for us to pay the bill for the drinks we had while waiting for the food that never came took another 30 minutes. Mr Silence and Ms Samantha need proper customer service training. 😞

I had bad encounter with the securities treating us as if we are hooligans. They dont have respect. We didnt have electricity and nobody orientated us with things around the house. Never told us about the emergency lights we were stuck in the darkness. The guy who brought us in the house went away with my food never brought the plastic back. You dont even know where you can complain bcos the is nobody who cares. Securities are the people who receive visitors with their rudeness. They dont even allow people to be drop off in their accommodation places. Customer care is zero. The place is beautiful though but I dont think I can go back there. We were treated bally.

Great place.Food at Amici is very affordable.The place is nice theres even a mini adventure in the pool side.Code of conduct are rather too strict but didnt like that some people were allowed to bring dogs in the pool area.Security is tight.But nevertheless I really enjoyed the stay.

This place is amazing, super save, restaurant in the premises, lifeguards, water activites, child friendly environment, gaming centre, gym and the list goes on with just a code given to access all of this.

This is a lovely modern estate and the first partnership between Balwin and Crystal Lagoons. This partnership brought about the first of its kind inland beach combined with residential living. The place is gorgeous with Curro at the entrance of the estate and buy in price is reasonable would encourage anyone to buy if they can afford. I love the ground floor units mostly however they are sold out from the current phase hopefully in the future units one can secure something.

Hi ,the blyde its a nice place to chill,but the apartment I was in was very very bad 👎 dirty ,thy didnt change sheets in beds and the microwave was not waking TV was not playing nor wifi Like thy said it is ,we didnt enjoy our stay, but the place its nice 👌, we Try to call for help no one came

Absolutely amazing!!!We spent the weekend in a beautiful one bedroom apartment and i have to say it was so clean and fresh and the whole apartment was modern and above expectations so all compliments to Thubelihle Langa who also went out of her way to assist us with problems entering and exiting the gates.The lagoon and watersport and equipment was really in great condition and the staff was friendly and happy to assist with anything we requested.Overall 10/10

I waited more than an hour at the entrance because somehow my booking didnt appear and I paid in full and when I got to the apartment it was dusty we had to wash everything we used. The wifi connection is bad. There was no electricity for 8 hours. Theres no customer service, when you text on whatsapp they never respond but they are always online, when I call them they take time to answer. I didnt have a nice experience in this place, like they annoyed me for real, did I mention that I paid? Coz I was supposed to get great service not all of that.

We booked a unit with a Lagoon view and on our way to the Estate we were given a unit number which landed up to be a different persons unit which we didnt book with and we landed up with a unit with no view....only people making noise and partying all night.We were told to wait outside the Estate for 45 min before we could go inside and we were told that the Lagoon closes at 6 pm and these has not been told to us before we booked.

This place is a must stay. Youve got everything here. Trust me when I say you dont need to go out cause everything is in there. Just look at some of the pictures I took.....Thats me in the first frame and yes all those pictures were shot by me

From my traveling experience I would not call this luxury apartments. This is an upscale 3 star resort with a worldclass water sports facility. There is hardly wifi or cell reseption. The staff from guards to restuatant and even the day spa are not very clued up on much. I waited 45 min for my sheduled back massages, that was a little too pricy for tbe small and avarage day spa facility. The lagoon is very clean though. The apartments are tiny... and no wifi in our apartment or cell reseption. The complex is extremely noisy on both our nights we stayed over... we didnt sleep on friday until well past 3am because of the noise. Saturday more noise until after mindnight. The resturant food is tasty but not well stocked. No cocktails???The decor is beautiful, modern and very aesthetically pleasing.Labelled as luxury apartment there is no 24 hr service, no wifi past 30min , limited restuarant , gym is clean and tidy. I just felt the luxury applies 5 star... I rate it 3 star.This is a great getaway for a nights stay, you can push it to two. The only reasin I would come visit again is because the lagoon and water sports and its close to home. Its worth a visit most defenitely yes! But 5 star luxury... it needs some work.

The power is off frequently for days on end. They charge you separately for utilities of the common property and again in the levies. The common property is also very badly maintained and dirty. Rubbish is left lying around for weeks and never cleaned up.

No power for days on end. For almost 2 years they have this problem. Also not allowed to use generators as a backup solutions . :( . Takes 3 days to fix power. Visit for a day sure nice beach and lagoon. Never lease or buy there.

We booked an apartment for over a month, day before our visit we got a message that there is a problem with the geyser, by that time we were already in Gauteng coming all the way from Limpopo, we didnt know where to go, the management didnt care they didnt even try to come up with alternatives or make another apartment available or finish the geyser it was a traumatic experience, I didnt expect such inhuman behaviour from a very highly viewed place, we requested a refund on the same day so that we can get another place to sleep but still we didnt get help.. it was very heartbreaking to spend so much and get disappointed by the management..

Stay away if you consider renting/buying.Used to be a tenant here. No power for weeks on end, more off than on. So I woke up in the dark and came home to a dark place.Traffic is horrible in and out of this area, even in spite of traveling very early to work.Had an incident where the noise was so unbearable by one of the below units that I personally went to the guard house on 4 occasions and nothing was done. This was during the week.When I moved out we had an inspection of the unit in where I left it better than I found it and they still charged me for so many things that it became ridiculous. Lost more than half my deposit.This is most definitely one of the worst renting experiences I have ever had.

The tramazzine meal was too delicious, however i am giving this review a low rating because I felt like I didnt have a lot of options to choose from.The calamari and chips my husband had were just okay. As for drinks, there were items that were not available but still put on the menu.

Beautiful estate, and the Crystal Lagoon is amazing!

This place is beautiful, latest infrastructure/modern. Great place to bring family and relax. The flats are well equipped, from laundry machine, fridge etc. Mostly importantly they have smart TV, which I appreciated very much. The safety in the complex is amazing, always felt save and protected in the complex. Down side is that in the room I was in, the bed was not good quality, it was squicking, it felt like it was breaking as I laid in it. Overall, amazing place, im definitely going back.Thanks

Terrible service with bad management. Waiters arent trained well. When manager was called to complain. We were told he is busy. We finished our meal and still no manager. These people do not know how to run business. Decent food but management and service is pathetic.

The venue is fantastic. It is awesome. The only negative was the staff.On arrival we were net by unfriendly staff that did not want to help, but the family in the second car did not experience the unfriendliness.Got to our flat and the only problem was the cocroaches in the cupboards and this was at all 3 venue we had. When we got in the bed its a good think we did not just get in and first clean it as there was cocroaches in the bed.The worst problem I experienced was that the security guard did not want my children to get into the lagoon. She informed me it was full then I waited in the side and people was coming out and still she did not want the kids to enter.Was not in the mood to fight so left it as is.Will go back but I will make sure I speak to management first to speak to the staff.

Amazing! The lagoon is stunning! I got the opportunity to kayak which was so thrilling. I just had unpleasant experiences with one particular member of staff (lifeguard) who more or less implied I had limited intelligence.... The other incident was with someone who didnt even work there telling us what to do. The facilities are really worth the investment especially the accommodation, lagoon and gym. If you dont have a car getting around will be a hassle as public transport is quite a distance away. The ban on bringing ones food is understandable, in the interests of maintaining cleanliness, but what isnt understandable is the inflated prices of the food facilities on the premises.

Balwin Properties in Pretoria EastBalwin Properties @The Blyde. Be careful for empty promises whenv g buying a unit. Weekly power failures that last between one to three days. Thousands of rands of food that go to waste weekly and empty promises that Balwin will undertake with City of Tshwane to upgrade the power supply in our area.Not even to mention the outside water supply shortage. Constantly no outside water their excuses is the water levels are down and this just after the recent rains falls. So guys forget to water your garden.So no proper planning for a huge development like this and 3500 units on the go.Between Balwin and City of Tshwane I do not know who us the worst. Such n pitty I did a investment in this place.

The place looks nice but there is hardly any electricity, the network is horrible especially when there is no power, it really is a waste of money, your food will rot, the fiber you have will be to waste because it will not work with all the power outages, you can barely cook, you will spend money on take outs. You need a gas stove and a generator to have a good experience being an owner or a tenant at The blyde. If you use Telkom and Cell C, don’t even bother trying to get network. I honestly can’t wait for my lease to end.

Opening this place up to Airbnb has made it noisy and security is useless, if only management could enforce some rules it would turn this beautiful place around. Disappointing.Please include in the welcome pack to new home owners a pack of candles, matches and if generous a gas cylinder, since we dont have electricity on the regular.

Absolutley breathtaking scenery from the penthouse balconies in the morning. It feels like a local slice of heaven we have in South Africa, and it was a bonus that the apartment I stayed in was pet friendly. Definitely worth a visit or 10!

Great place but there is never electricity so I wouldnt advice buying or renting

The view is to die for, nice big swimming pools, the apartments are nice, clean, cozy and family-friendly. I think the beach sand was the highlight for my kids, my wife took about a thousand photos and the nice thing is that every thatcheted shade have a power socket for a twin plug and a USB charging point you just bring your charger or USB cable.

Oh but what a wonder. I visited the Blyde to see a friend who purchased an apartment here, the only way to access the beach is if you know someone who stays there and youre a visitor or youre an owner of the apartment. I mainly wanted to see the beach just so I can see what the fuss was about and I must say I was taken away in awe, it was like I was in another country. The view was Spectacular, I dont know if it was the weather but everything was just right. There are though quite a few rules that does make it a bit boring, like no alcohol, no smoking etc, but I guess its to keep it clean and tidy which is understandable. I dont think they sell alcohol in that restaurant either. Oh that restaurant we ordered pizza the meat lovers one and some chicken one. That pizza was so good I almost cried for more. I dont know about purchasing a R1.5m ONE bedroom apartment I guess its because of the many amenities I dont know. The staff at the restaurant are your normal helpful staff, except for the rowing assistants helping out at the beach they are so kind, knowledgeable and super helpful. I took so many pics of myself and people asked me where I was and I told them Im in Pretoria, they couldnt believe it. I think I enjoyed it more because of the weather, the good food from the restaurant and the majestic views. Lovely place.

I am a property owner in the estate and I am not happy with the rule ( not allowed to carry your own water when you enter the lifestyle center).You are basically forcing us to buy water from the restaurant . The same restaurant with poor service ? I am not brining food, water to drink while I work.Since I moved in we have had power cuts several times during the week and every time there is power cuts, with this rule are you telling me to always buy water so that I can keep hydrated while working?? I work from home and this power cuts force me to work from the lifestyle center.kindly re-look at this

Good life things

We booked three weeks back for this weekend. Today we received an email to cancel on our side because they are fully booked. The booking was confirmed 3 weeks back. This is really unfair

The place looks great and have great facilities. But there is so much more to the place. The power outages, they tell you in your face it would be 2 days then ends up being 5 days. My electricity bill is higher than people living in a 5 bedroom house. You can wash your car today, with all the non stop building, you have to wash it every single day. The people doing the electricity just cuts the power, 5 times on and off. Asked them to please just tell me before cutting the power, still they just went on. Costing me to lose my laptops. The same electricity people blocked me from getting out of my house, because they moved bicycles that was in their way to block my door, because they thought it was mine. The restaurant has no service, when I asked the lady to clean at the plugs area when the power was off, she gave me a bag while she sits behind the counter on her phone.Their only focus is getting new people, because everyone keeps moving out.

Clean, well maintained and secure entry points. The scenic driveways would have you assume youre outside of Pretoria. Havent made use of the pools as yet, but definitely will in summer.

Used Air Bnb. Place was great and very clean.Great entertainment for the family including water activities, game room, spa amongst others.Limited food options in restaurant.

Self made paradise

Beautiful place for a day visit. Do not make the mistake of becoming a resident. You will be lucky if you have electricity for more than 1 day a week. It is truly a nightmare. Loadshedding has got nothing on The Blyde. Electricity bill is ridiculously high and a joke because 99% of the time residents dont have power. Today is the 18 December 2019 and we have had no power since the 08/12/2019 and all we residents receive is they are working on it. This is ridiculous!!! It is costing residents a fortune as food in the freezers have to be disposed of on a regular basis. The BC and management do not care for the residents as they do not stay there and can never give you a straight answer on the power outages. To all thinking about moving here, Do not make that foolish mistake we did. If there were -10 stars thats where The Blyde ranks.

Beautifull living and residences area. Very popular in Pretoria area. Nearly complete. I enjoy every visit to the BLADE. Live the security and the calmness it brings. It is the PLACE to stay.

What a gem in Pretoria. Crystal clear water, we enjoyed canoeing with the kids, family friendly. Its a lagoon in the residential complex, with a gym, restaurant and cinema inside. No day visitors allowed but can book a night through Airbnb.

Having to wait for 90 minutes for food is totally unacceptable, disappointing staff/waiters that seem serve like they could be somewhere else 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

If I could give negative stars, I would.All of the great reviews are from people who dont actually live there or havent been living there for a long time.I fell for the great sales pitch and the gorgeous lagoon and I have never regretted anything more.First of all the roads leading to the Blyde are just a nightmare. My place of work should not take even 20 minutes to get and from, it takes at least half an hour every day.Secondly, you pay separately for the levies AND water/electricity, which is hilarious because theres power outages basically every week.The facilities are nice if you ever find the time to use them but in my experience this does not happen after a long day at work and then gruelling traffic.Its just not worth the massive price tag. Not. At. All.

Will not give this place a good ratings as it has power outages for days on end and no one can ever tell us why.... If the place is struggling with to much demand of power how can they keep building more and more units... I am disgusted by this place as even though the power is out they will not even leave the facilities open longer for people who need to work they have to sit out in the cold just to charge their laptops...

At first it seems like a great place. But its not. Its becoming, for lack of a better word, ghetto. The noise levels are unbearable! Kids making noise, neighbours playing loud music at inconvenient times, and theres this vrrr pha car that makes so much noise, its unbelievable that type of car is allowed in a residential complex. On top of all the negatives Ive listed, the Airbnb visitors add to the horrendous noise levels. They simply have no respect for the Body Corporate Rules. The way I see it, they should have just developed this place as a holiday resort, because thats what its slowly becoming. It used to be a place of peace and quietness, but no longer. Its not a place I would suggest one moves into for residential purposes. Its just a great place to visit short-term. I cannot wait for my lease to end in November.

The Blyde is not as glamorous as they make it to be. It is only suitable for the developer, Balwin does not care about its residents.There is never electricity on the complex, they only switch it on weekends for the air bnbs.The environment is not safe, we get strangers roaming around and making noise from the bnbs.We currently dont have electricity for ten days nw, we cannot buy groceries, we cannot cook, they only have a generator for the restaurant. we cant even use the restaurant to charge our phones, they expect us to buy and spend money there. What is going on Balwin, your silence speaks volumes. You are hiding something. Their offices are closed until 03 January, what is going to happen for the entire December, are we going to stay in the expensive squatter camp while they are on holiday. WOW...

Beautiful location. Has a spa,restaurant, cinema,gym,tuck shop and ofcourse the lagoon. Itsl has such a holiday feel. I went to the Camelot spa while was there, the service was exceptional and also had lunch by the restaurant, enjoyed my rainbow something pizza.

Previous manager was AWFUL. So glad shes gone. There better be a PROFESSIONAL manager that is appointed next or youll lose customers.

Outsiders only see the beauty in this place. It is really not that fantastic. We get power outages every week and will stay off for 2days. Water lines are switched off during the day because of the construction still going on. So the people living in the estate currently is really not having a good experience. I work from home but I need to leave the estate cause of above reasons. ITS NOT A LIFESTYLE ESTATE ITS A RETIREMENT VILLAGE

As a resident at the Blyde, it is extremely frustrating to continuously experience power outages and low water pressure. Just last week, the electricity was off for 4 days straight! Not impressed, and would not recommend this estate for anyone looking to buy. The owners need to invest in security to ensure cable theft isnt an issue.
