The Hibiscus Kennel Club is located in McArthur Street, Port Shepstone, KZN, with an established Clubhouse, training field, puppy training enclosure and adequate equipment, which is currently being upgraded.Unfortunately, the main activity and training field is not completely fenced off (bad lease?) - a problem for untrained novice dogs. In inclement weather the field is liable to flooding, affecting use.Despite these hindrances, the Club offers comprehensive training/schooling for puppies, (young and older), as well as obedience, agility and Flyball for novice and advanced dogs, attracting many new members and happy dogs!Regular Dog Shows and Championships are held throughout the year, participation restricted to club members and KUSA (Kennel Union of Southern Africa) members only, however, visitors and spectators are welcome.Trainers and dedicated staff offer their services voluntarily. Club members are required to contribute a nominal annual membership fee. Participants in Dog Shows and Championships are charged an extra fee per event.Members are generally very hospitable, helpful and friendly.It is suggested that Handicapped/Wheelchair ♿ visitors contact/coordinate with the Club officials - particularly in inclement weather.Limited parking is available along the public road (McArthur Street), behind the boundary and where/when possible, limited around the field perimeter during Shows and Championships (not guaranteed!).
