Literally, the best fish Ive had in a while.Me and my sisters came for late lunch on Sunday after a hectic day and we were starving, the SERVICE was amazing, please keep Mlamli/Lamla (forgot the exact name).Definitely coming back whenever Im in town!!

The waiter is excellent, the owner friendly. Wonderful car wash outside. Fantastic seafood on offer to eat or to buy frozen.

What a lovely little restaurant. We had a quick lunch while on holiday. Its a small venue and since we were there in the off season it was very quiet..in fact we were the only customers but it did not affect our visit. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a really casual feel. The server was very friendly but the most surprising part was the food. Very generous portions and quite tasty. If you would like a quick meal while in Plettenberg bay you can really give this one a try.

Called in here on a Thursday evening. It was quite busy but we didnt have to wait for a table, although those that arrived shortly afterwards did have to wait for a short while.Ordered a normal fish and chips, and a gluten free combo, which was hake and calamari. Both meals were delicious, really well cooked. The service was quick, out server Angel was friendly and very efficient.Would definitely recommend eating here.

This place was recommended to us by our host and we liked it very much. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the food is extremely tasty. We liked the creative food options. The staff is very friendly, too. Worth a visit.

Ill break it down for you.The Good:Great picturesque place. Staff are very friendly and helpful, which I very much appreciated. Menu has a great selection of foods, not explicitly seafood. The seafood is fresh. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Food was served quickly.The Bad:It is slightly over priced. The food is unfortunately rather bland, whether it be prawns, hake or sole. If it tasted great, I would not mind the price but it doesnt.Final thoughts: I think this is a great place with great people running it, but its simply not living up to its potential. Which I would really like to see next time I come around.

Service was a bit slow. Usually not a problem when you on holiday but friends were flying out. Breakfast for 6 took over 2 hours. Staff were exceptionally friendly. We all ordered omelettes and the staff had no idea whos was whos. It comes on wax paper so the kitchen staff could make a marking on the corner with whats in it or make a number correlating to the line number in the order pad. Just constructive criticism and a suggestion. They realised they got my omelette totally wrong before they even brought it to me, but made a lovely gesture of giving me a free cappuccino. They were very apologetic. This all being said, the omelettes were all really really nice. I would recommend this place and would go back again.

Food really good, service great just quite pricey. Was R550 for 1 adult and 2 small kids didnt really drink. Burger was very tasty and so were the chicken strips. The desserts were delicious.

Food is great and there is something for everyone. Pleasant setting and good service with friendly staff. A little pricey for your standard meal but quality and tasty food is a given.

Honestly wasnt expecting the level of excellence on offer here. The burgers are insanely good, but so is everything else we tried. Must also mention our hostess Tracy who was a delight. Very highly recommended!

I would recommend that you stick to the cakes and ready made pastries. We got chicken mayo toasted sandwiches without mayo and asked for salads on 3 of the orders and got fries.

Excellent restaurant / music bar in Plett. Service and attention was first rate. The food was outstanding. My brother said, Best meal Ive had in 2018. Fish, steak and burgers - all our orders were delicious. Some Lebanese dishes. Really good food. All enjoyed at a comfortable table and the main bonus that we could book a table. We dont want to queue for tables any longer in Plett - Off the Hook is way more civilized than that. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing we went there twice for dinner, I tried two of their burger. If you are ever there, do the same. I heard the grilled hake is amazing too, but I reccomend that you try their Big Boss or The Don burger.Both those burgers have big beef patties to party beautifully inside your mouth with the combination of fluffy chips that look hand cut. All in all we all left with big smiles from the food we had on both days.The atmosphere is good for both group and couples, we had the luck of having the same waiter on both day. And what amazed me about him was his memory of all our drinks from the day before, I am talking about 6 different drinks with six different faces to go with.If you are there and love good service ask for Ruster, because he kept referring to himself that way. All I can say about the place is that I would give it another try whenever I am at Plettenberg.If you are looking for fancy and not food, I would recommend that you do not even set foot there. The place is clean and the upper floor make the place look cozy and romantic with an amazing view of the bay, but still it is for those that appreciate uniqueness of places.

We ordered take aways & were phoned when the food was ready....but that was where the pleasant experience ended. Neither the fish, calamari or chips were crispy as advertised. The fish was soggy with a fatty tasteless dough over it....very uniform size like frozen portions. Calamari was covered with same soggy dough, not crispy & like chewy rubber. The chips were instant frozen chips....like strips of cardboard. Sorry, but will never try eating in after this disappointing experience.

Went here after the 11km hike at Roberg. It was cozy, comfortable and the perfect way to relax a bit. The service was excellent and the food amazing. We shared a fish and chips and a Big Easy. Fish was perfectly prepared and the chips were large and the right balance between soft and crispy. But the burger was what really impressed us. Both agreed that this was the best burger weve tasted (and we usually dont favour the same flavours). The ingredient combinations on the menu for this burger seemed a bit strange but the flavour was phenomenal.

I am a Plettenberg bay Local of 20 years, I have 30 years experience in the Al a Carte restaurant industry. Although those days are now behind me I can still appreciate a good meal as well as recognise all of the subtleties of a succesful operation. My visit to Off The Hook was met with enthusiasm from the well mannered conscientious front of house staff. The restraunt itself is somewhat minimalistic in its decor with clever effects from mirrors which create an endless feeling of space that in effect, and very cleverly disguises how small the inside dinning area really is. If memory serves me correctly ....14 tables at the most excluding the three tables on the deck and maybe 5 tables on tha covered paving at the entrance. My aunt is here from Scotland. On her past visits to South Africa eating out was met with certain challenges, not many restaurants offer a comprehensive selection of Gluten free dishes on their menus. This is a lovely little restaurant at the Beacon Isle centre in Plettenberg Bay. While they do sell seafood as well, their menu has a large amount of variety.We sat outside on the small deck and simply could not decide what we want to eat. We had studied the menu online before even going to the restaurant. We studied their Facebook and TripAdvisor pages. We thought we had made up our minds, only to rethink once we arrived.We each ended us having a burger, and I must say I did not have a single regret. The nacho libre is well worth the money, but the winner of the day was the Don Juan that my Fiancée had. Simply spectacular. If you are in the area and craving good food, give Off the Hook a visit! You wont be disappointed
