The best tasting food I have had in Pietermaritzburg yet. I went there for my birthday dinner. I had spicy Thai rice which was cooked to perfection😋. The team treated me to a yummy dessert on the house. I am definitely going back💃!

An all round excellent Thai restaurant. I have had several meals here and every one of them was delicious. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They also have a really well priced lunch menu, with a great variety of dishes. I would totally recommend this restaurant for a fabulous lunch or dinner. The sushi is always fresh and by far the best in town. My personal favourite is the Thai fried noodles with extra chilli. The serving is also very big for a lunch special. We also tried the fried fish served on a bed of veggies, which was crispy and flavourful.

Truly surprised. My 1st time having something to eat and loved all 3 meals. Will be back.

The food was amazing, and they serve big portions. Eventhough we were a table of 6, we did not wait long to receive our food.

There was quick service, large food portions and a great variety of food choices on the menu. We didnt have to wait long at all for the food and the portions do not disappoint. Really enjoyed my experience here, will go again.

Firstly, the restaurant looks great and clean. The staff are very good at what they do. The food is made fresh and tastes great. Theres quite a number of vegetarian dishes to choose from. They also have teppanyaki. Alcohol is served. The food is well priced and the portions are filling.

Best phad thai noodles

Starters Ordered chicken wontons -looked more like dumplings, filling was dry and tasteless.Chicken Satay - Chicken was overcooked, dry and hard. Came with a sweet chilli sauce instead of a peanut sauce as per menu.Mains took 50 minutes to arrive.The spicy rice with prawns had overcooked prawns, to the point of crispiness.The egg noodles with prawns- prawns were overcooked and chewy.The angry chicken curry was very enjoyable, but not as spicy as promised. Mild spice level, and thats from a person who does not generally eat spicy food.First beer was flat, had to change brands after the first one.Second brand of beer was acceptable.Nobody wants to go back to this restaurant. Food looked great but taste was lacking.

Wow such an amazing experience. It was My 5th Year Anniversary and my first time dining at Bangkok Wok. To my surprise they had everything set up so beautifully. I was beyond amazed at the effort put into making our night special. The food was amazing 👏

We went for lunch and my wife had the calamari and I had the crispy chicken. Both dishes were tasty and nice. Service as usual is really good. The chairs are in need of a make over but besides that a lovely lunch and we will be back.

We are a big bunch, 13 of us(6 kids and 7 adults), so we are used to fumbles whenever we go out to eat. No exceptions here unfortunately, food was passable, service was okay. No orders fumbled, but their timing was off and taste mediocre. Stay away from the crispy chilli chicken which was more sweet than chilli.

Decent sushi although it could be better. The service was satisfactory and the place was clean.

I phone in my order as I leave work and as I arrive there it is ready and they are even happy to bring my food to my car. Ten out ten

If you had asked me in 2019, I would have given them 2 or 3 stars. I did not have a good experience in 2019 - they cooked my food with burnt oil and it tasted awful. But this year I went for a Baby Shower and they absolutely outdid themselves. They went above and beyond and the food and service was great. I am happy with the standard and hope they maintain it.

We really loved our food at Bangkok wok. Every dish was absolutely tasty! We had the wonton soup, tempura prawns, Phad thai and thai red curry. Massive portions too. The waiter was awesome and very friendly. A great experience, will definitely be back

Good curry and decent service. I do however feel that this place has lost some of its authenticity since the last time I was here a good number of years ago. Wonton starter came with stock standard sweet chilli sauce instead of what used to be an epic palm sugar sauce. Although the massuman curry was very tasty, it didnt have a single potato in it - a rather key ingredient in this particular dish. All round tho, a good evening to be had at this local restaurant!

Food has always been consistently excellent - and when I wasnt satisfied, the food always returned 5/5. I love Bangkok Wok cause I always know the quality of food will be great and the service excellent. Has never let me down. Thank you Bangkok Wok for being so memorable.

My wife and I have just purchased and eaten a Thai fried rice chicken and a beef take away. Very disappointed. The chicken dish was tasteless and the rice in the beef dish was dry and powdery. We have had great take-aways before. What went wrong?

Poor service! Waited 45min for noodles and stir fry. Had to hunt the waiter down for service. They never bothered to keep me updated that they never had gas. I ended up leaving hungry. I wont return.

I am so thrilled to see Bangkok Wok revived under new management... So love their food and after a long break from the establishment I ate there again and did not come away dissatisfied 👌

Decor needs serious attention.

The lunch menu is by far unbeatable in Pietermaritzburg. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue any day of the week for their very tasty and liberal servings if food. Keep it up.

It was a nice experience sitting at the Tepanyaki table and having your food cooked in front of you. Compliments to the chef.

We waited 2.5hrs for our food on Valentines day. We enquired many times as to when we will be served our dinner and the helpless waiter kept on saying very soon. When we realized that other patrons were just as unhappy as us and that there was a huge problem in the kitchen we decided to leave. The manageress begged us to stay promising we will get our food soon. We only stayed because it was now after 9pm and other places will be almost closing. We eventually got our food and it was delicious. I cant deny that the food is very very tasty. Portion sizes are good too.

Fantastic thai experience. All the flavours you expect from Thailand hot aromatic spicy sweet they have them all. Fast efficient service quick meals while you wait. They deliver everytime. Food is of great quality and pricing is very very attractive and appeals to value for money. I would definitely recommend a visit if you a lover of Asian flavours. Crayfish special at R185.00 FOR A WHOLE CRAYFISH is a WINNER. Waiters are very friendly helpful and obliging

I was pleasantly surprised at the good lunch time specials. You can get away with a lunch for R49. The restaurant as a whole is pleasant. I highly recommend the Aubergine salad.

The waiter was drunk!!! He forgot what we ordered for drinks and main menus. He was stuttering and forgetful and worse rude to my partner. It was so unprofessional. Due to the service it will be my last visit

The food is great but the service has been poor on more than one occasion. I was told after asking if the restaurant was open (at 11:30 am) that yes, were open, but outside. Then made to stand outside with no waitron in the freezing cold with looks from the staff inside until I left. Will not be returning.

Experience was mediocre. Food was really delayed and mains arrived separately for the people at our table, so much so that by time I had received my steak the first person that received their meals had just about finished.

Got there at 19h30. Placed order starters and main meal together for two. Received only one starter 30 minutes later. Left restaurant at 21h30 starving. Order was still not prepared. Ruwaida the owner was apologetic saying the manager overbook. My first experience of such poor service and my wife insisted on eating there.

Unfortunately, we supplied micro greens to their restaurant and have never received the R8000+ accumulated bill. Saddly this has crippled our small business driving us out of business. The bills remain UNPAID!! Until they pay, I will leave this review here. So if you are reading this remember how they have destroyed a small local business for their gain

Absolutely love the food. Careful with what you choose, some dishes are really spicy.

Never in my life have i ever had to wait an hour and a half for food we had to take it as a takeaway only to find they added a meal we did not order but paid for unknowingly. Then the manager is a whole case on his own. Never eating here again.
