Always good. Knowledgeable doctors. Friendly staff. Dentists, doctors, optometrists in one place.

At a time when family cannot be around loved ones in hospital one would expect nursing staff to be sympathetic and show empathy. I called theater to query about a family member and was met with a rude nurse. Yes she cannot give information to just anyone but there is a way to speak, Id assume Midlands hospital management did their homework and sent people like this nurse on courses to learn about empathy. She also spoke to another family member telling her if she and her sister are close then she wont need to ask questions about which ward because she will know. I and my family will definitely not be using this hospital at any stage. Professionalism is definitely something she should learn about.

Hospital wont release my medical records to me or account payment details. You will probably go here and die. Like many within the medical industry, the manner in which they treat people is unethical. Definitely would never recommend this horrible place to anyone.

Speedy help in our time of need, thankyou to all involved- from the guards getting us through, to casualty, to cardiology. We are incredibly grateful

So we are currently sitting in casualty waiting for my son to be attended to. We are here for over an hr with no assistance from the dr. No attention until payment is made and then no service once payment is made. Im sure theres more than one dr available in casualty. A deep cut on a finger needs some sort of medical attention. Shocking treatment in such an advanced hospital. My son is in a lot of pain and bleeding quite heavy and still sits holding his tshirt on his finger. No help or care from the nurses to stop the bleeding or calm him down with pain tablets. We are currently leaving the casualty after being blatantly ignored, because the dr on duty is very tired. We would like an explanation thanks Midlands medical for being such a let down.Just an update its currently 12pmWe left the casualty and went to our gp in durban who said my sons finger needed immediate attention and not just stitches as said by the inefficient dr in casualty. He cut his tendants in the finger and needs to be in theartre to stitch up the tendons. We are currently standing in a queue with a disorientated and a child in pain. If the dr in the morning had seen to him in a professional manner, we would have been done in theartre by now. The nurse on duty that morning kept on saying the dr is tired had a hectic night and went to wash his face to freshen up. IN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL CASUALTY IS THERE ONLY ONE DR ON CALL? Im sure there were other drs to see to an emergency. Please give answers MIDLANDS MEDICAL CENTRE

Disappointed at the review my mother gave me about her stay at the hospital. My mother has reported very disrespectful experience with the nursing staff. She has asked us to never send her to that hospital ever again. I plead with the hospital to change and improve

My grandmother was admitted to the ICU and I had went in at 18:55 not knowing visiting hours were actually 19:15 and not 19:00. So the nurses said there were handing over please wait outside, until they call us in. Sure enough I went out and waited, and waited and waited and waited... no one came through to say they were done, so by 19:40 I went in again and the nurses were STILL HANDING OVER!!?? The hospital needs to ensure that the nurses hand over by 19:00 to make sure visitors can visit at 19:15. Some night-shift nurses were still coming in after 19:00. Is there no-one checking their times?

My partner was admitted at the surgical ward he was disrespected in his stay his roommate has more than 15 visitors they would make such a noise not caring about the other patients he had to leave his room and sat by the waiting area, waiting for them to leave as they passed by they would apologize knowing what they did was wrong but did it anyway people work very hard to be admitted in private hospital so they can receive the best care but they dont you should consider all the patients the same respect peoples private space he asked to discharged because of the lack of privacy

Very bed experience for us and specially for my baby.. facilities are too old and not enough can you imagine rooms from curtains... nurses wont let you rest because they always talking loudly..Also they ask deposit before you admit .. but when time comes to pay your balance of deposit they dont pay you back even after a month.also you can pay cash but refund not available as cash or cash check..you must wait their mood to get your own money..

My wife is currently in hospital Surgical E, the most pathetic experience ever. They didnt give water. The nurses take extremely long to answer the call button. The bedding were not changed. And everytime she needed the loo she had to wait till the nurse came. Private hospital my foot. They drain the medical aid and cannot look after there patients. NEVER EVER AGAIN WOULD I GO TO MIDLANDS HOSPITAL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MEDIC CLINIC.

Being at hospital is never a pleasant occasion, however It became alot easier when I had such pleasant and efficient nurses who made being at hospital feel like a home away from home. A special mention and acknowledgement should be given to Ms K Dayaram of day ward, who made me feel so comfortable with her motherly nature towards me and all the patients around her.She worked so efficiently and made me feel so comfortable and even checked up on me when I had moved to the ward. Due to a hold up at admissions because of so many admission Sister Dayaram was quick enough to handle such situation by prepping those patients who needed to go into theater so that there would be no delay, the hospital certainly need more nurses like het..I would like to thank her and all the other nurses who attended to me and ensured I had a comfortable stay

My husband was recently in for a minor procedure and I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding service we received by all staff that we Came into contact with. From the lady and gentleman at admissions, to the amazing sisters and nurses in the GI unit, they were so polite and friendly and just so caring and sweet. I have to say that this was by far the best hospital I have ever been to. We actually left the hospital in high spirits and just feeling so positive and happy. All credit to the amazing staff in the GI unit and a very special thank you to Nurse Nzama who was an absolute sweetheart. The Xray department was so efficient and professional, with fantastic staff in all areas, from the payment desk, to the nurses. We did not even have to wait long. We also had a meal a the coffee shoppe while waiting, and that was also brilliant. Delicious and well prepared food. Good vegetarian selection. All in all, I would totally recommend this hospital above all the others in Pietermaritzburg. The other private hospitals in Pietermaritzburg need to take a page out of this book.My dad is currently in this hospital, and I really have to say... The service from every member of staff I have come into contact with, is exceptional. The nurses in the day procedure ward, are so professional and friendly. They do everything they can to Assist patients and the family members. The kitchen staff here were also very curtious and polite. I just cannot explain how professional and friendly these ladies are. A huge thank you to all of them for everything they do.

This is the best hospital in pietermaritzburg. Security is good nurses are warm and welcoming the cleaners even smile at you when you have to walk over the wet floors they just mopped. St annes and medi clinic should learn from these finer details. Well done to midlands hospital you guys are surely the front runners for me and my family
