At the time we visited, the tasting cost R12 a glass for normal beers and R16 for premium ones, generally you choose a tray of four but you are free to try more. The tasting glasses are 100ml which is quite large for a taster - if you are with a partner, sharing is a good plan! Removable labels on the tasting trays would be a good addition as one tends to lose track of what is what as the tasting progresses :-DFor me their non-alcoholic raspberry & rooibos blend was the winner - super-yummy!![October 2021]

As a beer lover I also try and look out for new craft breweries popping up, so when I heard about the Paternoster Brewery I just knew I had to go visit. Arriving at the brewery I was very impressed - the building has a modern and open design with the bar area; where the beers are poured being the focal point right in the center. They have glass windows next to the brewing equipment which is always nice for brewing enthusiasts to see and they have an outside deck and kids play area where you can relax, have a beer or two and grab something to eat. We decided to do a tasting, which is normally 4 beers, but as their 4th beer is a seasonal beer they replace it with water (they did discount the tasting for us because of this). I found their beers very light - even the Porter which is normally quite a heavy beer - and personally feel that their recipes need a bit of refinement, but they have a good foundation to work from. Their beers seem to be catered for those that enjoy lighter styled beers and if you did enjoy what you tasted, they do have bottles available to purchase. Although we didnt grab anything to eat, looking at some of the other tables that had food it looked really good.

Service average, food good. No butter provided with roosterkoek. No sugar free cooldink options available. No tea available. Cooldrink options for non drinkers extremely limited. Still water provided in unsealed bottle - could be tap water.

Lovely brewery with the local Paternoster beers. Very neat place with friendly staff. We visited before the grand opening and it was nice. The amount of beers and food options are still limited but I’m sure the menu will evolve along with the brewery itself. All the best guys! Best from Amsterdam 🍺🍺🍺

Laz has taken this brewery to a next level of excellence.. we are locals from a neighbouring town and visit often. The Raspberry Weiss is out of this world, a truly exceptional creation.

The food was absolutely amazing (bitterballen and warm pretzels), the taproom is stylish and very well kitted out (jungle gym and kiddies high chair a big bonus), and the beer was delicious too (Weiss and Pilsner). And very friendly and knowledgeable staff too!

What a lovely brewery. Outstanding Pilsner and Weiss beers. We also liked the stout and the non-alcoholic rooibos honey is delicious. Pity they have with a problem with their bottling so we were unable to buy any beers to take home. The beautiful cat made up for it though. The menu looks great. Love to go back in July with our next visit to Paternoster.

Excellent experience all around. Lazarus and team do a great job of making you feel comfortable while you enjoy your food and beer. Snoek bitterballen is the best item on the menu and is a must try! Great beer selection - raspberry Weiss, pilsner and stout are favorites. Well Done Paternoster Brewery, youve created a gem!

Everything in the tasting room still looks brand new. The staff are friendly and the pilsner and weiss are both very easy drinking and refreshing. The food portions are more in line with a lite snacks than a meal, better to order a few things and share as tappas. Also, the pizza is non-traditional, extremely thin base and light on cheese. Watch out for tortoises driving in 🙂

Easy to find, plenty of natural light and spacious. Food is impressive. They used some local vegetation in the salad that accompanies the main. Their pilsner is still one of my favourite locally produced craft beers. However, service could be sharper and IPA on tap was flat. I dont know how they missed that with brewers on-site.

I understood that Paternoster Brewery has not been open for long time, but a great place indeed. Their brew is exclusive to Paternoster which includes the Pilsner, Porter and Weiss. Soon they will also have an pale ale on offer. The Pilsner is highly recommended. Paul good luck with your venture.
