We had our wedding there on Saturday. We received nothing less than the best. I can highly recommend Paternoster Hotel. Excellent service, great stuff and especially Carisma. You were great!! Venue looks a-flippen-mazing. Thank you for making our dreams possible.

My room window and door was in an enclosed passage with painting hanging on the walls for sale. I had no fresh air and the passage was noisy. I stayed 3 nights at the same price I paid for a luxurious hotel in Bloeberg Stand with a view of Table Mountain. My room was not serviced after day one. Room only had a fan and a TV that is the size of my laptop screen with open view only. Cape Town I had a 32cm TV with a full DSTV package, a fridge, water every day. They both had the same ratings and charged the same but were most definatly chalk and cheese. Meals were served in a partially enclosed veranda with plastic chairs and metal tables. At 16 degrees and cold weather this is not acceptable. People seemed to be allowed to smoke everywhere. Everything smelt of smoke. There is an indoor area for a restaurant but is filled with bicycles and other things. I am not happy with their rating as it is deceiving.

I enjoyed my stay at The Paternoster Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful the breakfast was lovely and the room was clean and the bathroom was modern . I will definitely go back there again.

We had the most awesome accommodation. It was called chocolate sea horse. Everything we needed was there. It had a pool, the beach was a block away. The comfort was really comfortable!

Ive stayed in Paternoster for over 15 years, i used to work here. I always only recommend the Paternoster hotel. This is a place where you can relax, take a load off and feel at home. Very down to earth people. Friendly staff.

We came all the way from Cape Town to have lunch at the Paternoster hotel. I have ordered some rump steak and calamari and my wife and our daughterhad some fish. I asked my steak to be medium rare, theyve delivered it well done and cold to top it all. By the way, the steak which was supposed to be one piece, was cut in two smaller pieces which looked like a different cut instead of rump. My daughter had a fish fillet which was I&J frozen fillet and not fresh. When I gave my comments at the manager, she told me in my face that all their fish is frozen and not fresh. She did not handle the situation like a manager should do, not even apologizing for the poor quality of the food. She hummed as if I just had to back of and accept the type of service. It was our first time there and definitely will be the last. Wont recommend them to anyone.

What a good vibe. Brilliant music and lots of fun

This the worst accommodation I have stayed in. The room was so dirty. The bathroom floor was brown of dirt, there was hair on the floor, the glasses had marks and toiletpaper in it and there were brown marks next to the toilet. When above was pointed out to the managers and cleaning lady we left them to re-clean the bathroom. When we returned after a couple of hours nothing was cleaned. It seemed that the cleaning lady and manager thought that that cleaning was up to standard which is very worrying. We also could not sleep as the people next door had a fight all night, we did inform reception about this 3 times but they did not do anything about this. This is not a hotel, its more a hostel/backpacker vibe but you pay for the price of a hotel. The fan in the room was also not working. Breakfast was okay but I could not enjoy it as I kept thinking of the very dirty room.The manager did book us in another guesthouse the next night so I must give her recognition for her problem handling skills. But other than than you dont get what you pay for at all!!

Our Waitress, Roske was such a star. Friendliness, hospitality and true West Coast humor. We had a blast. Pity our President pulled the plug on being merry...

Nice place but the platters are a tad expensive. When you choose a few items for your platter a small platter can cost R250. Food was delicious though and a great vibe

Fantastic and relaxing, but also home away from home. Love it.

1. The good... Staff friendly and breakfast quite tasty. 2. The bad... calling the rooms sea views is really pushing the boundaries. Views are spectacularly of the car park, the main road with all its unsavoury characters and a very distant glimpse of the sea. 3. The ugly... The hotel is a dive with the only thing that can save it is complete gutting and start from scratch. The Panty Bar may have been quant some decades ago but now it is dirty, smoke invested and seriously unpleasant. 4. Recommendation.. If you must go to Paternoster pay the extra money and stay in a guesthouse on the beach.

The hotel is okay . The rooms were decent but I have 2 major complaints. The soundproofing of the rooms was terrible . Our neighbors were talking and we could hear every word that they were saying crystal clear . The neighbors did apologize for the noise but I felt it was more the fault of the terrible soundproofing of the hotel . The other major complaint is the shower water control. There is a problem with the water control . It would go from hot to very cold immediately without notice . This makes showering difficult and uncomfortable as the water temperature was unpredictable. Overall , it was a great hotel with great staff that were caring and great !

Beautiful small town, with a specific appeal. Not everyone will experience this the same.

Akways a pleasure to visit. Ouboet (Willem) is a great barman. Helpful and informative.

Every time weve been to PH weve only had great service, great food and good times. Love the history behind PH, Paternoster and the people. Live forever.

What was supposed to be a special getaway got to be a special let down. Fancy tiles do not make up for holes in bathroom ceilings and loose toilet seats. The dining room for breakfast was especially poor. Not even tablecloths and a staffmember hammering away at window covers around you. I think my 2 stars are overrated. Would have gotten better value for money to go camping.

We went into the hotel restaurant for a meal. It was 10:22 and when we wanted to order (husband was going to order R300 or more worth of mussels, prawns etc), the waitress didnt want to take an order for anything besides breakfast because it only opens at 10:30. So we were told to wait for 8 minutes and then we can only order. Waitress didnt want to get the manager and simply said: nothing we can do. They just lost a whole table because they didnt want to submit an order 8 MINUTES before the time. When we informed the waitress that we will be having drinks only then, her whole attitude changed and she didnt even greet us when we left, simply snatched the money off the table and said nothing. Extremely rude. Would not recommend due to the experience with staff.

Quiet place next to the Atlantic Ocean with good see food

PATERNOSTER is a quiet , serene , laid back dorpie nesting quietly alongside a beautiful stretch of the Atlantic Ocean. The PATERNOSTER HOTEL embraces the serenity of PATERNOSTER and is a great stay away from home . Safe for all ages and lots to do all day, lots of places close by and the beach is a stones throw away. The food is of the highest quality with a strong emphasis on sea food . There are lots of equally good restaurants not far from the hotel where all your gastronomic requirements are catered for which as i already said the PATERNOSTER HOTEL looks after very well . I recommend this hotel as a must to visit and stay over as you will not be disappointed

Unfortunately no bachelors parties, yet fun and something else not just your normal bar. Go ahead and drink a few on your way to the beach. Lots of small shops walking distance from the bar so mommy can be busy while you cool down.

Paternoster hotel is an old hotel set in a rural fishing village. The in house bar takes you back to a quaint local pub and always filled with a good vibe. The old styling of the hotel and friendly staff force you to slow down and take note of the beautiful surrounding. Its the perfect getaway from the city.The food is outstanding so take a moment to have dinner at the hotel before venturing out to the lovely resturants.
