Warm fire on cold day with great company. Such a lovely spot and will definitely be back when summer comes. Its in the Columbine Nature Reserve but you dont need to pay R25 if you visit the restaurant.

They say dont judge a book by its cover .Dont be fooled by the look from outside. Right on the beach, fabulous friendly service and great size portions at very reasonable prices. Interior is rustic nautical. Sit and dine in your own fishermans boat or at a table. Huge outside dining area but also inside seating. Plenty parking. Food was really and served quickly. Cocktail was great too. On a windy day, the net screens help shield the worst of it. Nice casual seafood dining. Will definitely visit again. Authentic local hospitality.

I have been here twice in two days, the food is very good and the oysters were huge.

Quirky layout (all aboard!) but a fail on the food quality and wine assortment. Go for the experience but thats it.

This is the best place in Paternoster. Amazing and very friendly people. 5 stars for your food your bartender gets a 10. We enjoyed him so much. You can sit there for hours just relaxing the sand under your feet and the most amazing view. Priceless. Thanks for being such great people

The views and atmosphere here is amazing. The little boats where you eat from are the perfect spot to enjoy a lunch. I had some of the best ribs and my wifes hake was so fresh! Well worth the visit.Only complaint was that after reading other reviews and tasting for myself I would say avoid the mussels. They just werent great. 😊

No service whatsoever. We ordered and 30 minutes later after asking waitron 4 times. Walked out. Will not go again

All I can say South Africa is beautiful

Did not enjoy the road to the restaurant at all, better go with a 4x4 as the gravel road is horrendous . Great views but sadly that is where it ends. The pizza had little cheese on it and the pizza base was bready and horrible. Wanted so much to like this place it but for me it is a miss.

Fantastic seafood, situated virtually next to the sea ,friendly service what more do you require. One downside was the gravel road. They really need to scrape, or do something about the road , because a lot of people would think twice about braving it.

Lunch was sooo good we chose to go back the next day to have the same again. Nicely situated, open and light sitting under umbrellas on the patio. Sweetest ladies served us.. Food very well prepared. Had the fish of the day.

Its not about the food, although the food is good seafood with no frills, it is about the beautiful location on the beach, waves lapping against the pebble beach, flocks of terns flitting about the rocks, just inside Cape Colombine Nature Reserve. Take a seat in one of the boats, and enjoy a wonderful experience

Great casual experience at the coast. The dissapointment was the long wait of over an hour for food, after placing order. They were not very busy, about 50% filled. The fried hake was the only good part, calamari a bit underdone.Otherwise a good place to relax and have drinks watching the ocean if not in a hurry to eat.

I wish I could give zero stars. We just had the worse ever experience. If you have any other choice, DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE!!! We made a booking and when we arrived they had no record of it. Only after making a scene, did they make an effort to get a table together for our large group. We placed an order for drinks, some of it arrived and others in our party waited more than an hour for theirs. They eventually had to go get their drinks themselves from the bar. Then we ordered starters. The snoek pate starters were served with stale bread with black burned crusts. Some arrived after an hour, others waited longer. Same with the main course. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS after arriving we finally received mains. Some of us had fairly acceptable meals, but most were misrepresented. I ordered the mussels on a bed of spicy rice. The mussels were tasteless and served with boiled up white rice. When I asked where the spicy rice was, the waitress informed me that some patrons complained that the rice were too spicy, so now theyre only doing white rice. See the attached photos for their pathetic attempt. Its clear that the owner doesnt give a damn. He sits at a table in the enclosed area with friends (smoking!!!) while small children are at nearby tables. In all my life, Ive never been as disappointed as I am today. I get that it is peak season but if other restaurants can up their game, why cant they. So angry! Total waste of time and money.

Pathetic! No service at all. Had to order our drinks and collect them from the bar ourselves. In half an hour, not 1 waiter attended to us. Asked twice for someone to help us, no luck. Table next to us sat down 15min after us. Drinks and food orders taken while we sat and waited to be help. There where about 6 tables that just got ignored. No idea how they keep their doors open with pathetic service like this!

Called the Restaurant on Saturday morning to ask if they serve cocktails which the answer was yes to. Drive all the way to there, asked the barman which was also our waiter for the cocktail menu as he mentioned a few cocktails of his head, but wanted to see what was in the cocktails.He then walked to get the menu like he said but had an attitude about walking to get the menu. After some time we waited and he didnt come back instead there was another waiter taking our order, we wanted something creamy which they didnt have. We ordered some R&Rs and we wanted to order another round but something different. Our waiter came to us and said the barman said he is to busy and wont be making any more cocktails. So by this time the service is poor the barman has an attitude and it is almost if they are doing us a favour by serving our table. The waiter went back and forth and didnt want to bring the cocktail menu for us to order something else. Finally the barman said he will only make the cocktails if we order the exact same, because he doesnt have time to prepare something else and he was clearly not in the mood to serve what was on the menu.This is such bad service, it takes forever to get service and the barman has an attitude, wont be supporting them, and wont recommend going there either as apparently they dont want business and doesnt care what you want on their menu because they are doing you a favour for being there.
