Such a great place to slow down! Spent the first night on my own, which was amazing as a little solo escape for some proper rejuvenation. My sister-in-law joined me the next day and we had a great girls night.Loved the eco pool, all the birds singing, the magnificent views and the excellent service. We are truly blessed to live in beautiful South Africa and I will never tire of being a tourist in my own country. Highly recommend this family owned and managed hotel.

Oh my word it was the best experience ever!!! I am a mom of a 2 year old and I booked myself into Angala for 2 nights to get some really needed rest and rejuvenation and honestly it was the best decision and experience Ive ever had in a long long time. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you are looked after cared for and treated with so much warm and love.

Absolutely love Angala! Excellent service and very private. We usually go once or twice a year. There aren’t many rooms and even when full you feel as if you are the only one staying at the hotel.It’s nicely located as Verde En Lust and Rupert and Rothschilds is just around the corner. Highly recommend anyone to visit Angala at least once in their life.

This weekend was pure magic!I surprised my boyfriend with a night away at Angala for his 31st Birthday and I was absolutely blown away with all the special touches to which made my boyfriend feel extra special on his Birthday - to which I will be forever grateful for.I have stayed in many hotels and travelled alot pre-covid but no holiday, hotel or travel experience came close to the hospitality and service I experienced this weekend.You truly have the most special establishment and one we will certainly be back for soon. It was exactly what we needed - a good break from the city and an escape back to nature and to reconnect with each other.Thank you once again for all your assistance in the booking as well as the Room upgrade - it was magical.

None of the movie channels in the room worked. The manager had a cocky attitude when I asked him if the hotel is really 5 star. The porters are dressed in blue overalls and gumboots. The fitted sheet on the bed did not fit the bed and was torn, probably by someone trying to force the fitted sheet to cover the corner. The shower had pathetic water pressure, and the mixer of the shower doesnt work, you either stand in boiling water or in cold water. The aircon was left on at 25 degrees when I went to bed to keep the room warm. When I woke up the room was icy. I checked the aircon to see that it was now on 18 degrees? I dont know if there is a setting for the aircon to change to 18 degrees after a specific time. There were no individually wrapped toiletries in the bathroom. There were no magazines in the room, taking into account that none of the movie channels worked. The manager sent a waiter with four ancient dvds to my room and said I can watch those movies. I gave it back to the waiter and said that is not my taste in movies - in fact I saw that as a slap in my face or an embarrassment for the manager to even think that would be sufficient and will satisfy an unhappy guest. I would have thought that with Covid, business is tough, and that hotels that are in the hospitality industry, would go out of their way to look after their customers. This is definitely not the case with Angala hotel. I have stayed at 5 star hotels before, such as the Palace at Sun City and Fancourt Hotel in the Garden route, and I cant even try to compare this horrible experience with genuine 5 star service and accommodation.

This boutique hotel is the perfect hotel if you want a quiet, peaceful getaway yet still in the heart of the Franschhoek wine region. The setting is beautiful and there is a pool that you can use as well as well maintained gardens and views from each room.There are stunning mountains all around you - and you can go on a hike/trek right from the hotel - the rooms are spacious, comfortable and luxurious and the staff is very friendly and pleasant, attentive to all your needs. Food is very tasty, and the the owner & manager father & son help to plan all your wine excursions, whether it be on the wine tram or a personalized tour with an amazing wine guide (we did both). We also had access to scheduling massages and yoga.We went in early fall when there were only a handful of other guests in other rooms, so it was very quiet. It may become busier in the summer, but still lovely, I would imagine.Highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a luxurious, yet close proximity to wine farms in one of South Africas famous wine regions. And if youre there on a Friday, try to visit the Friday night outdoor market and food kiosks at Boschendal wine farm with live music.

Can we stay forever?? This 5 star boutique hotel was absolutely fabulous! Massive, tasteful rooms and bathrooms with private garden and outdoor shower, complimentary mini bar and nespresso machine in room, every little detail has been considered and provided. Fresh flowers, natural pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and and infrared sauna round of the amenities. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and will be definitely back to stay in winter to enjoy the in room fireplace! This is a wonderfully tranquil experience with excellent yet subtle service.

Lovely place. Awesome Pools/Spa that have very good waterquality without using chemicals/chlorine.Food, Rooms and Staff are also very good. Sadly the sauna didnt really work at my stay, but that was propably just some small technical hiccup that can happen. Nonetheless an awesome stay 5/5!Edit: Just came from another two nights stay, just a week after my last stay there and the sauna works perfect again. The staff really is exceptionally friendly and this accomodation would deserve 6/5 stars.

Our most beautiful stay in South Africa. We booked the Luxury Garden Suite. A dream. Modern furnished. Own house, which is a bit out of the way. We had a private swimming pool. Great view of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast in the main building was first class. The whole area is very well maintained. From there we visited the wine region. The location is ideal. We can recommend the house 100%.

The beauty of the hotel and rooms is breathtaking, quite green around and African flowers in the corridors. The food served at the Hotel is of high gastronomy, you will not miss anything for a restaurant. Quiet location and well-equipped accommodation.

We were here for Christmas 2016 and traveled on after 2 nights. The Angala is beautifully situated on top of a vineyard. The room was very luxurious with a small garden and terrace, almost nothing was left to be desired. The hotel area is very well maintained, we would definitely book here again
