Could do with a larger pool. There are more than enough treadmills though. The rest is comparable to any other gym.

The gym looks impressive and large but half the space was wasted by the architect.Very limited benches if you want to do training with weights. Lots of treadmills but I never got these sense of moving on a belt of rubber. A lot of the strength training machines were without the padding ie not in use. Few ab trainer stations.Changing rooms look clean and in good condition and lots of space. Shower doors mostly missing.Covid protocol: lots of reminders but not really enforced.

Terrible 👎🏼 there is to many people for the size of this Gym. Always a struggle to use the equipment, and most of the equipment is broken for such a long time now. They don’t fix the equipment...Plus, Virgin Active is not keeping your information safe. Since they were hacked recently, the fear of my bank details are at risk.DONT SIGN UP FOR A DEBIT ORDER, they can’t be trusted due to poor security systems that don’t protect your information!!!

Manager locked speaker system in studio. Not members or personal trainers have access to play music now. And neither do virgin active play music, so its currently just dead silence in studio if there is not a class in progress. Seems quite a bit childish. Surely there is a beter way.

Always a great experience

Great varity of mashines. Solid benches and new dumbells.Olympic bars are bent and the knurl is smoothed out which makes gripping them tough.Most of the mashine grips including pull up bar grips have lost their epoxy underneath which makes the rubber grips twist and makes holding the levers difficult.

Not to big... most equipment needed for good exercise... would love more early morning classes not just spinning and 24 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Would love to have other classes like 24 on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays

PATHETIC. Looks like something about 30 or 40 years old. Sales staff pushy and completely deceptive about prices and advertised rates. Completely overpriced for what is basically a communist-era gym.

It is clean and the equipment is in excellent condition. Friendly staff. Great change room, showers.

A small gym as far as VAs go. The group Rumble class is great, just that the boxing gloves only get washed once a year and are really stinky, so bring your own if you want to do that class without catching finger fungus.I do the spin classes as well. Excellent if just for the entertainment factor- as an English-speaking person, working out to heavily remixed sokkie music is... an experience, for lack of a better phrase. Wouldnt pay the full VA price for this place but if you have a Vitality discount, its alrightish.

Awesome music, friendly staff, but still no 7kg free weights even after a revamp & years of requests 👎. No steam room was really bad when we finally had months of actual cold winter weather in Paarl for first time in years. Cant see why they dont convert it to a dry sauna if its a water issue. Main reason for joining was sauna or in this case steam room. 😢

A tired and old gym she needs a face lift

The gym is getting too small for Paarl- its way too crowded at peak-time. Theres only one bench press for a start and a small pool thats mostly used for schools swimming lessons. But overall a good gym.

I love Virgin Actives. This one just needs a bathroom upgrade. The equipment in the gym itself is good and I enjoy gyming there.

As far as Gyms go, its got all you need. Staff are friendly. Aircons work. Bathrooms are clean.

Personal trainers are brilliant. The option of a biokineticist is even available. Sufficient equipment for a range of training opportunities. As a fellow athlete i was most impressed.

Gym equipment outdated.No Kauai.Gym closes at 8pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. (Too early)WiFi connection is poor.Aircon is never on.No hot shower water after 6pm at night.Cleaners are lazy and unfriendly.Limited parking.

Supposed to be great, but, consultancy is a joke, no questions about sport goals, no real knowledge about the classes in offer but main focus in closing the deal, watch out.. also, it’s supposed to be really nice and not overcrowded.. sure.. promotional deals turn out to be not what it says on the box.. ie 2 months at 99 then 10 months at 600 p/m is not 7300. Also pay 1 year in advance, no discount, but managers verbal promise to remember in a year to do something. Tss yeah..I think I’ll not join but look elsewhere..

Mens locker rooms are disgusting and havent been revamped since the gym opened. No privacy in the showers. The water fountains are very old and theres not enough to provide cold water at peak times. Some of the spinning cycles are poorly maintained. Probably the worst Virgin Active in SA. I would have given it minus 5 stars if such an option existed. The only redeeming feature is the friendly staff.

A good gym, part of a franchise. Has a indoor pool as well as a sauna, clean restrooms and a play area where you can leave your kids while exercising.

Excellent facility to work out. Does have a facilty to look after todlers while the parents work out.
