Now a Covid isolation center Was once a great place to go !!Doubt will ever visit it again Now dirtified with Covid stigma even if sanitized its going to stick in my mind so will rather stay away
You have to see the Du Kloof mountains in person to understand the vastness and fantasticness of their beautiful. The Lodge is wonderfully situated, facing the mountains. The service was good, the price was very affordable, comfortable bed. I loved everything about it.
We only had drinks here. Unbelievable view. Very friendly staff. Reasonably priced. I can not wait to stay there.
Cant really say i experienced anything as its currently being used as a Covid-19 hospital. Theres is still accommodation as far as I understood but thats the story.
Quite and tranquil, great views with reasonable rates
Dale & Jonandi run a smart outfit here which is a perfect location for advert and movie shoots apart from accommodation which is also fantastic. Drainmen Services recently came here and enjoyed the surroundings ! Keep up the good work guys...
Absolutely Beautiful location and surroundings, but the interiors needs to be Upgraded
To hear what Anton had done turning this into a covid19 hospital, caring for the poor community of the area is highly commendable. Its a disgrace to learn that so little funds are available for this uplifting endeavour. His staff and those gifters who bring the of bag of goodies and the support he has had during his church is much appreciated. We need more of his Ill in this beloved country.
Sorry it was close because of covid 19 it is always nice to sit on the stoep drinking soda with the mountain in front of you
I attend this facility due to my isolation of Covod 19 . But I would recommend this facility after this pandemic anytime to anyone . Nature is right on hand . And the natures views is spectacular.
Stayed here few years ago it was stunning. .went to have something to eat yesterday and it is still lovely. .and best part of it we were allowed to bring our fur child in . Great place for the whole family.
The mountain views and hospitality of the staff is out of this world. Andre is an absolute supper star and a fantastic host.
Such a surprise, once you are there you do not have a sense of being close to the N1. Instead the feeling is of being surrounded by nature - soaring mountains, the river, birds and vegetation. Friendly service and tasty food available. Rooms are modern, only thing to be aware of is that sound travels a lot between the rooms.
Scenic. Beautiful retreat away in the mountains with tons of open space to explore the river banks or even just to relax, sit back and have a meal at the restaurant or bar. Definitely a spot to add to the regulars list
Truly breathtaking scenery combined with friendly and accommodating staff. A well deserved 5 Stars. For the professional, an added bonus, its also a great filming location.
This place has such a lovely view when sitting on the deck outside. It is really a pity that you have to wait 15 min and then still no waiter, had to go and order food at the counter which also took a long time. Had to clear the table by myself - No waiter !
Did A bachelors there, it was really good. Great service nice amenities!!
Really wonderful place to spend the day with the family
The Du Toitskloof Lodge is situated between majestic mountains and beautiful surroundings. We stopped to have breakfast. My husband had a Mr Farmers breakfast(egg, sausage, bacon, chips and toast) which he enjoyed very much, while I settled for a Mrs Farmer which consists of fruit, nuts and honey. Although it is not a large plate of food, I enjoyed it very much. There is also a well stock bar available and there is self catering cottages available for rental.
A Very unique place. Most fascinating view on the mountains. Very friendly manager and staff. Intensive renovations being done at present, promising great results. We only went sightseeing and had coffee but a very special and interesting place.
A perfectly situated restuarant with floor to ceiling glass windows with magnificent views of the mountains. The trout was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, perfect the first time, not crispy the second time. The venue is perfect for weddings as well. The bathrooms are modern and the place is clean... except for all the windows. The venue was prepped for a wedding, but the floor to ceiling windows were dirty, such a pity!
With such beautiful scenery, one would have expected better service. We were at a wedding in the midst of load shedding. No generator available - bridal couple had to arrange one. Guests sat in the sun, with not enough umbrellas available. Neither the dorm door nor our chalet door could lock. Taps loose in bathrooom, etc etc. All gueasts shared the same sentiment - it can be a stunning venue, if better managed.
Absolutely loved the time there. Had great service. The self catering chalets were clean and neat but require a little TLC with some small maintenance issues. Otherwise it was great
The most beautiful venue for a weekend or conference getaway. Amazing food. Stunning hikes and river. Cannot wait to go back. The staff are just amazing and are so helpful.
Mainly closed right now but you can still fish there.
Breakfast Buffet is very limited... but still very worth it at R85 a head. Gorgeous views. Friendly staff... i plan on going back soon
Cozy little resort. Would be perfect for a weekend breakaway in winter, or a spring wedding. Offering accommodation, restaurant, pub, games room and a gorgeous river front outdoor area, framed by towering mountains. Staff very friendly, grounds well taken care off. Large barbecue facilities also available on site.
Note: I may be hangry..Look, when you know youre one of the hosts for a wine festival. You should prepare accordingly. I understand that its more of a lodge than a wine farm, meaning that you dont have a wine stand (at a wine festival), but if the customers sit for more than two hours waiting for their breakfast, its not the best signs in the world. They have great scenery and fishing to boot, but I cant see myself returning for the food or service any time soon.If youre looking for a place to brunch some time next year, this is your place. Otherwise, most places would be more accommodating.
I loved and adored the view from our room. Cant wait for our next stay at Du Kloof!!!
Menu very basic and meal request wrong. Expensive for quality of food and service.
Lovely views and stunning meals! Staff are friendly and very helpful. Prices where reasonable. Even lighted a fire for us to come and sit inside when it got cold outside! Would love to book a chalet as we only spent the day there! What a blast, what an atmosphere!
What a waste of money. No fish
Lovely little lodge with a possie on the river. They have a pub and a restaurant as well. It feels a little bit run down but other than that definitely give this place a visit!
Nice and warm. Service could be better. Waited quiet long for food
Its nice but not LGBT friendly.
What a great experience. We happened to visit over Soetes en Sop weekend when we dropped by for a quick drink. The staff went out of their way to make sure all the patrons were served quickly and professionaly. I could only fault the lack of ice due to a domestic ice machine, but the staff did their best to offer alternatives. Looking forward to visiting again. Keep up the great work!
Beautiful place. Great views of the mountains. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great. Thank you for a good experience
Perfect spot for a day out with family (if the wind plays it part) and the water is refreshing.
Great vibe in the pub. Comfy accommodation close to the CPS rivers. I dont fish in the dams because I hate the concept of not being allowed to release fish and having to pay through your eyes for the ones you catch. Make it catch and release!
Gorgeous place for a little get away out of town. Friendly staff, very efficient, greasy pricing and very tranquil
This is a lovely little resort. We got our permits here for the Cape Nature Krom river hiking trail.
I dont even know where to begin with my review on Du Kloof Lodge as a wedding venue but everything was absolutely perfect! We had most of our wedding guests staying for 3 nights and everyone on the wedding night which was incredible that they offer so much accommodation and facilities! The ceremony, pre-drinks and reception venues are beautiful with the majestic mountain backdrop and the staff are all so helpful in making everything run smoothly, lastly the food was amazing and all the guests were raving about everything! Thank you so much to everyone at Du Kloof for making our wedding weekend so incredible!
The swimming was very nice but the day visitors place could be better. The cement table was loose, it camed down on my dad and he fell very hard and he has already got a bad back, he could have been injured very bad they need to upgrade it and make sure everything is well built!! and the branches is so out grown, we needed to cut it to be able to use the cement table (just be carefull because its loose you can get injured)
We stopped to have breakfast in Dec 2020 but the restaurant was closed to the general public. Probably due to Covid. Not sure if and when it will open again. It looked like the accommodation part was still operating.
Just popped in for quick lunch. Peaceful surroundings and excellent service in the bar/restaurant. Views are tranquil and food is good value for money.
We visited on a hot Sunday in November aiming to have lunch and a small hike. I was really very pleasantly surprised to find the place not overcrowded with noisy picnickers which for some reason I half expected. We were told we could not hike because they were filming. Very disappointing. But we headed for the river and had a lovely hour there. Then went for lunch. The food was really very good. We had the trout salad and the bobotie. Good, friendly service but the bobotie took 25 minutes to arrive. Then we met a manager who explained we could hike and told us where to cross the river. Maybe someone should enlighten the reception staff.Had a lovely hike with great views. Then came back and order bobotie again! I do love it. This time it arrived in 10 minutes. Go figure! A very pleasant day out with room to relax. Will come back to fish when its not so windy.
Nice resort, swimmingarea is a bit small, bit pricey considering that the braai areas were not cleaned of the previous users ash.
It was very nice. Pitty that the generator was out of order could not watch the Rugby
A nice place for a riverside outing. Plenty of braai spots and grassy areas. The river is great for relaxing in and safe for children.
Book the Lapa area - its worth it if you have a big crew. Secluded area perfect for family get togethersThe braai area is sandy and little grass area.. Not worth it unless you willing.Toilets could be cleaner...Awesome if you love swimming in riversKids would need much supervisionOccasional visits from Babboons.. bring a rubber snake
Could not enter due to the fact that it is currently used as a place of quarantine.
Great little spot on the river. Good service and friendly staff
Nice place to catch trout
Great Lodge, replaced vibe, friendly staff, beautiful setting.
So you can carch fish 🐠 very nice for a picnic by the dam and catch fish
Great venue, exceptional food, awesome view, and really helpful staff. Had a great weekend here and would 10/10 recommend you visit/stay.
We just stop for a quick drink, but always a good stop for beautiful photos of the scenery
This place looks still the same after 7 years ! Needs TLC. Our loved chicken pie and bobotie also tastes different.
So beautifull I am planning my wedding here!! Excited! The staff is super friendly! Great prices!
Beautifull surroundings with majestic mountains in the background. Friendly and hospitable staff serves well presented and tasty food. We enjoyed that quiet and treanquil atmosphere!
Had a BAD experience.....before the food arrived. Wont be back. Such a pity ....beautiful place.Staff need to keep their personal stories about pregnancies and alcohol private and quiet. Stay at home or out of the food/beverage area if you have a persistent wet cough.
Beautiful venue
Bought permits here for limietberg hike huge venue and friendly staff should be nice to stay over here in winter with the roaring fire place
Great food great view great service....5 star for me
Stopped for a drink at the pub on our way past, and the view and venue is absolutely amazing. Lovely place, worth the stop. The bar service is not something to brag about though. Waited 15 mins or more to order and pay for our drinks.
Always a very enjoyabke stop. So much is on offer here.
Attractive venue. Maintenance and workmanship suspect. Long list. Enough said.
Always a favourite place to have Sunday breakfast when we are on a motorbike run....and a bonus with the fireplaces!....recommended.....
Beautiful setting, some areas seem a bit run down, but other areas are nice
Always a beautiful place to go to,peaceful an sitting outside on the deck looking into the mountain awesome..chicken pie..highly recommended...do visit u will not be sorry.
Pity about the lack of Dstv to watch the rugby and the bar running out of ice... all and all a good experience with bad timing and a manager that was nowhere to be seen...
The place is falling apart.
Amazing views, friendly and very helpful staff, delicious food and beautiful rooms! Would definitely go and stay their again!
Nice stop for a craft beer or coffee. Awesome view on the mountainside
Been going there for many many years and will always be a favourite of mine
Public toilet was a bit dirty today and under construction, but the place is exceptional. Will definitely return
Lovely lodge on the River with awesome mountain views.
BEAUTIFUL PLACE. The lodge is so pretty and peaceful. Nice sized lodges with dstv and wifi. Beautiful view from the rooms. The lounge and dining area is clean and the interior amazing. The lake is very near with a nice seating area, as well as a braai place.Overall, an amazing and peaceful place 👍🏻
Took them 1.5 hours to bri g 2 omletts. No eye contact on entry. In fact almosy totally ignored
Delicious smoked trout salad. Can recommend the dish.
Nice enough venue. But why they would book people into the old cottages while their fancy new rooms stand empty, I dont understand.
