Decided to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday here on the first Sunday of October with live entertainment. Enjoyed the Jazz band .. they were truly great. Service was quick, food came out fast. Slow on the drinks orders but they were busy.Enjoyed the Wilderer Gin tasting .. excellent gin and other interesting treats such as Apple Pie Moonshine … gin reasonable prices and some branded memorabilia to purchase if interested.Lovely set up and garden area. We felt a distinct German presence with the food… enjoyed the eisbein. Overall a great experience. Mother in law loved her outing too ..Just a pity the music was so loud we could not talk at all. But then it was the entertainment so perhaps go for the music .. not the conversation … very good though.

We went there for a Gin tasting today. Very sympathetic guys over there. As I was already hungry, I was able to get the home made Springbok Ravioli before the restaurant opened. They were so delicious and very special. Thank you guys

Had lunch with friends recently and felt the experience to be very lukewarm. Service was great - hats off to our waiter for attending to us, but the food, especially my main course (mushroom pasta), tasted bland and the cream sauce was very thin. I never add additional salt to food in a restaurant, but this time I could not help myself. Not inspired.

Felt unwelcome here.We just walked in and didnt know where to go for tastings.Two waiters walked past us and didnt even flinch to ask us anything.Something also stank like a sewer drain.At least the gin slushy was good!

Great spot! Totally unplanned, we arrived there just in time for the Sunday Jazz Concert (first Sunday of every month). Service was very good, even though the restaurant was packed, food was great and everything was held together by an awesome ambience and chilled jazz. Highly recommended, but make sure to book, space is limited.

Before today, I had a good impression on this restaurant. Myself and 5 friends decided to go there for lunch today on the 27/12/2020. As we arrived, a bald male who is the manager welcomed us. He was very rude and incompetent. He sat us down on the corner table next to the kitchen even though we asked to sit in the garden. He immediately bluntly declined saying they are fully booked. The table which we sat at was full of flies. When we asked him to make a plan to get rid of the flies, he pretended to not understand us. We had lunch and left very disappointed. Some of the tables in the garden were still empty when we left. I definitely wont be going there again and I do not recommend it to anyone.

Pappa Grappa at Wilderer is a great place to chill. Food is excellent and there are loads of space for children. Wilderer is pet friendly. Book on Sundays as they are very popular.

I would like to congratulate Wilderer on there amazing delivery and service. My order was delivered with in 3 days of placing my order. Will definitely buy from them again.

Such a fun experience, doing the Gin tasting.We did the Standard Tasting as a group. My only advice to other would be to ask for tonic with the Gin, unless you usually drink Gin clean. It is offered, but we did not really think it would be needed, but in hindsight, I think we wouldve enjoyed it a bit more with the tonic.Theres a few options to try. And The lady that helped us was really great. You can even make your own bottle of Gin to take home, by tasting the various flavours and mixing them together in a bottle. I thought was really cool, and even though I didnt do it on this visit, I definitely want to go and do it!I would definitely recommend this to anyone who will be in the Cape area.

Family friendly with a delicious food and wine menu. We actually prefer this location to its sister at the Spice Route as we find it more intimate. Their gin is delicious!

Placed an order online, without expecting any human interaction. Not long after placing my order I received an email from Johan thanking me for my order and telling me it will be delivered the next day. (which was 16 June and a public holiday). Nothing arrived and just to double check that I didnt miss the courier, I replied to the mail received, Johan came back to me within minutes to apologise and to tell me hell follow up and Ill have it the next day. It arrived the very next day without any problems.What amazing service! Thank you Johan and team... cant wait to visit you at your distillery soon!

They are known internationally to produce best liqueurs and win every medals there is to win. But way beyond that, they running an incredible friendly and brilliant, cosy Restaurant , and you are always welcome. Not the usually high class arrogance to see on almost all other Estates or guest-farms around Cape Town, I land my Chopper there in the parking lot, bring guest often and everyone is always blown away and want to come back.Its a really nice team they make you feel home and part of their family .Best of all - and I know most of them, its my favorite!Michael Honsa

This is a place that has been operating for years...great food full of unique taste , great setting for families and lets talk about home made graph. .. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the food and making off grapa ...brilliant day out you will not be disappointed. Bring the whole family let the kids go wild and play while you relax.

Good service, great food and cozy atmosphere. I especially love the easy access to the distillery to see for yourself where the magic happens. The majority of the restaurants seating is outside making it perfect for afternoon chilling or date night on a beautiful evening.

I visited Pappa Grappa for the third time yesterday and,as before, it was most enjoyable. Ive found the service to be excellent and the wait staff very friendly each time weve been here. My aged mother suffers from dementia and it is one place where I feel comfortable to bring her for an outing. Yesterday (and on the other occasions) our meals were delicious and the portion sizes more than ample. The pricing is very reasonable and all in all its a place I have no hesitation in recommending.

The restaurant and staff was very helpful and attentive, however the gin tasting was not a very nice experience.I am not an expert gin taster, but I feel there need to be at least some water available to cleanse the palette before trying a new one. However, the water they use for distilling the gin comes from the river, and if you need water you have to provide it yourself!Also - there are no explanation about how they make the gin - or any commentary at all - you basically just taste it!

A gem of a restaurant, with an old world charm about it. Its is a lovely property, with friendly staff, a great menu, and the food is very well prepared. I would advise booking your table in advance, particularly on Sundays. This venue is ideal for functions. Baby showers, kitchen teas, and birthday parties for a mature crowd to specific. The premises is is ideal for families with young children. The parking area could use a little more shade but it is very secure. I would definitely recommend a visit to this delightful, peaceful, and picturesque restaurant. I will certainly go back.

The service was very slow. I had the special and it was nothing to write home about. The venue was nice. If they get some good waitrons and the kitchen can increase the quality and speed of its service. Then I would have given them a better rating.

Great setting and excellent food! It is easy to just sit here for hours and enjoy meal after meal, drink after drink. Käsespätzle is the best!

I have visited the Pappa Grappa in Simondium quiet a few times and have always been impressed. Grab an ice cold beer or glass of wine, order something to eat (I recommend your try one of their pizzas or flammkuchen) and relax. Their outside seating area is beautiful and perfect for larger groups, but they also have an inside seating area which is great in winter. We were a group of 8 people and although we didnt have a booking when we arrived they quickly made a plan for us. I would however recommend that you make a booking as they are very popular, especially in the summer months. They also have a distillery on the premises where you can do Grappa and Gin tastings. Overall a great restaurant and this definitely wont be the last time I visit them.

It is a great place for the family to enjoy good food and space for the kids to play.

Sunday....popped out to the winelands and by chance stopped at Pappa Grappa for a tasting and then a lunch which turned out to be fabulous. Outdoors, on a stunning day coupled by good food and wine eas a winning formula. Tasting was unusual but fun....grappa and gins....cool stuff.Recommended
