Wonderful and easy hike beyond a picnic and braai park. There are so many branches from the main route but it all leads back on itself so you cant get lost. Some shade, some open bits. Bring a hat and water if its hot outside.

Paarl mountain is one of the most beautiful get-away places in South Africa - if not the world. The foot of this reserve is surrounded by vineyards and other mountains. It is saturated with MTB routes, one of the most difficult uphills for a road bike and hidden caves. Don’t you just want to spread a blanket out, grab a book and relax?

A well kept and beautiful garden. Take the drive up from the centre of Paarl and enjoy this little oasis for your next picnic. The views up to the picnic site are spectacular. Yiu may even be inclined to walk up Paarl rock or take a drive to the very top. Entrance is free into the Botanical garden, but there is a small entrance fee if you drive up to the top. Toilet facilities are available but are not wheelchair accessible.

A good example of natural indigenous plants in a garden well kept. Easy to navigate footpaths that meander through the garden. There is a fresh flower display close to the entrance to help visitors to identify the plants on the route.

Review №24

Very nice spot. The road that leads here is not the best though, be aware that it is gravel and I would not reccommend taking a low road car here. You dont need a 4x4, not that bad, but be aware that it is not a flat or even road. The toilets were not the cleanest ever and the braai facilities are also a bit grotty. The garden itself is beautiful. The main section at the bottom is neat and tidy and well marked. The trails up the hill are pretty nice, but nothing is marked and some of the paths were obstructed with fallen trees. It is still very nice and very walkable and extremely beautiful. There are plenty of shady bits and LOADS of park benches and spots to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet and beauty. All in all a very positive experience and a beautiful place. Trail running friendly 👌😍

The Nature Reserve is about a 5/10 minute drive away from the Taal Monument on the other side of the mountain. There is no charge to visit or explore the place, so we were even happier to find this little spot close by.Things to do there, or rather, what you can see is the various flowers and landscapes, the different sections within the reserve, and the neatly places walk ways, it was a really enjoyable experience. For the nature lovers and hikers, this is an ideal place to check out when you are this side of the Western Cape.Social MediaYaaseen Adventure

Awesome place with great natural facilities. Unfortunately had to fix the broken chain of the toilet myself while staff was sitting outside worrying about noise levels with only 5 groups present not concerned about each other. The male attendant should also learn to treat patrons with respect and dignity.

Picnic area clean comfortable and spacious. Lovely spot and child friendly. The walk up to the rock was challenging . The caves ideal to rest and gather courage to make it to the top. The children age 6 to 11 made it to the top even the last lap with the chain. Coming down with the chain was slippery but a good experience. All in all a good experience .
