Fantastic service and so much compassion for what was a sad celebration for us, celebrating my late moms birthday and getting a Happy Birthday cheesecake surprise after our well prepared and tasty meals. Thank you to all staff for your empathy with my dad. Your kindness and efficient service will not be forgotten! He had a blast. Accompanied by a stunning view and strict social distancing, I can honestly recommend this venue.

I could have eaten anything and it would be magical with the views, but I had a FAB pizza (feta, avo and bacon) it was just the way I like, thin crispy base, and it was perfect. I could sit there for hours. Beautiful place.

Blacksmith is located where there is a great view and refreshing feel. We arrived at the Resturant around 20:30 and unfortunately the kitchen was closed but was fortunate enough they were willing to serve us pizzas. We ordered two pizzas, both were amazing and flavourful, and have very crunchy crusts. Would recommend.

Had a date with my best friend here. Food was delicious, service was friendly and had good atmosphere. However, flies were annoying even when they put the candle on our table, they just wouldnt go away while having our meal.

The best view of Paarl valley, combined with great wines, good food, superbly well trained waiters and hands-on management...one can really see why it’s a firm favourite in Paarl. Upon arrival we were given two types of wine to sample (free of charge), and after enjoying a lovely meal made from the freshest ingredients, a trip to their wine cellar shop yielded a wonderful, superbly priced, six-bottle combination box (containing whites, reds and a rosé) of their “Stubborn Man” range wines to take home.Due to their popularity booking early for weekends is a must, as their tables are often booked up as early as the Thursday!An absolute treat for spending time with friends.

We booked 1week in advance for 9 persons for a very special birthday occasion.We arrived promptly as booked. We were only served dinner at 21h30.Whilst after we had sat down for service a group of 20+ arrived much later.The group of 20 and all other customers were served before us.We were the last to be served.With no waiters in attendance to offer apologies.Poor management obviously overbooked .And the poor management continued on floor .Sadly we even left a generous tip.So all in all what was supposed to be a good experience turned all sour on us.Margaretha Smant- Botha

Pricing and expectation is one thing. Outcome is another. Allthough we were dissapointed with the starters we were hoping that the main course would compensate. Unforetunately this was not the case. Apose to the venue the experience otherwise was very dissapointing.

What an amazing setting, with stunning wines to enjoy. The food is first class, and the staff an absolute pleasure. Tucked away on Pearl mountain, this one is a true gem.

The view is fantastic, the ambiance out of this world. We had the hake masala with rice and salsa, and it was divine.The caesar salad was very DISAPPOINTING, actually not a caesar salad at all. They used the wrong lettuce (should be Cos leaves or similar) croutons were oily, and bacon should be optional, not standard. If there was any sauce on the salad, it was definitely not caesar sauce. The runny poached egg was a turn-off. Stick to boiled egg, I suggest.All in all, this is a fabulous place with great serving staff (Priscilla was amazing and very kind) and delectable food, and we will definitely be back again.

Lovely setting, mediocre food and service. I would not recommend thai fishcakes.... Nothing thai about them.... Nor the very oily spanakopita. The ribs are ok but lacking adequate basting. Not that many tables and enough staff yet service inattentive.

My family and I invited this breath taking place. We had the mushroom risotto and oh my word it was incredible!! Service here is amazing, the staff are very friendly and the wine...on another level! If I could I would give this place 10/10, I would highly highly recommend this place to persons of all ages.

Havent been there for some time so very happy to say its as good as always.The Springbok loin that I had was probably the best venison Ive ever enjoyed.My Mum and my wife were both equally happy with their choices.

My new favorite place! We had the best valentyn`s dinner @ Blacksmith last night. The food & services complimented the beautiful view. Well done chef Hadley ( a former student of mine) for preparing the best Norwegian Salmon I have ever had. To top it all, a couple got engaged and the staff brought bubbly for all to congratulate them. Love was truly celebrated!!

Its really a breathtaking view, the starters was delicious, but the mains fell sort, even though the sirloin was cooked to perfection, the meat was very chewy, must have gotten a bad cut, and my husband had seafood which was really tasty but the prawns was floury, the service was good, overall the experience was good.

The surrounding vineyards and view of the city makes this one of the most beautiful places to dine out in Paarl. Cosy atmosphere.Corkage is R50 for the first and R95 for the second bottle! Ludicrous.The food can be either good or bad. I recommend going for a house favourite like pizza to avoid disappointment.

Best views of any restaurant in Paarl! Decent menu catering for a wide variety of preferences. Good value for money wine menu. They can get very busy over the evenings so phone ahead for a booking.

Its a beautiful place and I have been meaning, planning to go to it for a long time. I was disappointed in the service. We waited 1hr 15min for milkshakes and side fries. The one flavour milkshake wasnt available so the waiter just brought my friend the same option as I had selected (without double checking if thats fine first). I had high hopes and I am sad to have been disappointed.I hope the service issue is assessed for future customers.

It was one of those days when winter is nearly over and spring is just arriving. So the combination of sunshine, new leaves on the great oak tree and views over the Paarl valley to the mountains beyond was breathtaking, as was the delicious meal and wine we enjoyed. And our visit was made even more special by the excellent service from the waiters who were both knowledgeable and cheerful and also knew just how much to intrude and not to intrude. A very special memory.

Perfect setting, with sweeping views across the valley. The wine was fantastic and food great. We took our six and four year olds, there was a good kids menu and they loved running around in the gardens.

Me and my girlfriend went into blacksmiths kitchen soaking wet due to the rain, but we were greeted by friendly staff that took our umbrella, gave us a towel to dry us off with, seated us by the fire place and gave us each a small glass of wine becuase we were so wet. We also received exccelent service. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is also fantastic

Amazing food and even more amazing venue! Only downside is it gets very loud inside with everyone trying to talk over each other preventing you from hearing conversations across the table.

Food was terrific and I would absolutely go there again. Service was great to start with but towards the end of the evening our waiter was MIA and our group of 7 had to request drinks and bills from other waiters.

It was a wonderful experience. The food is top notch. This was the first time my potato chips were stacked and I liked that level of care. I had delicious starters (the filled pepper and some lamb pastry), a steak for a main meal and 3 desserts (Amarula flavoured Crème Brulé, Oreo-crusted cheesecake and vanilla panacotta). The dessert werent too big, but loaded with flavour. I wish I had space to try the pizzas, because I saw they do really really thin bases. Next time. The views in all directions are exceptional. Beautiful venue!

The view over Paarl is incredible. This is the perfect place to enjoy a wine with the sunset and look out over the town of Paarl and the mountains to the east.

Contrarary to previous experiences, the service tonight at restaurant very poor. Lovely evening and wonderfull ambience however one waiter for seven tables can just not meet the demans of customers. Wait long periods for basic things like a cup of coffee, a jug of water, a bit of tomatoe sauce tec.
