Today my all my sky flying dreams came true! With the guidance and expertise of our instructor Mias I was exposed to an experience of a lifetime - without one moment of fear/doubt/discomfort. The views over the winelands were out of a fairytale book. Definitely a must for any cape town adventurers list!

A five star experience! If you love hiking and you want to combine it with an adventurous adrenaline rush by paragliding down, seek no further. Miaspoort is on the Paarl side of the Du Toitskloof Pass. It leads to the Italian Cross at Huguenot Kop, which was erected by the Italian prisoners of war who built the pass. This trail offers unsurpassed views over the entire mountain range. The hike was rewarding and then Mias de Klerk rounded it of with the most exhilarating experience. Mias is a true professional. From the start he instilled confidence and I knew I was in good hands. Paragliding is not just a hobby for Mias. Its his life. Everything went smooth, from the booking, to meeting up at Element Adventures, the hike and then the flight. It was cloudy conditions and Mias took extra care to ensure our safety. His instructions was very clear of what he wants me to do during take-off and landing. I knew I was in the best hands by just observing him and listening to him. He explained the wind and the clouds to me and what he is looking for before we take off. And when the moment of truth arrived, it was a walk in the park. We were in the air before I could say Bob is my uncle. It was a smooth flight, beautiful and fun. Even when we went through the clouds and we could see almost nothing, he was in control and I was just enjoying the ride. The experience was rounded off by the smoothest landing. I am still amazed. He just said, stand and that was it! Mias, you are absolutely the best and I am definitely going to become one of your regulars :-) I can highly recommend Mias and Winelands Paragliding.

Unforgettable Bird’s Eye view Experience of the Cape Winelands!I had an absolutely amazing experience with Mias in the air - flying up the Du Toit’s kloof mountain range - over waterfalls right up above the mointains! Mias was so kind, helpful and put me at ease as a first time flyer. I would go fly again any day! My husband surprised me with what I can only describe as one of the most epic experiences of my life.Despite my heavy nerves the instructor made me feel completely at ease and I got to experience Franchhoek in a way I have never seen it before, thousands of feet in the air! I cant recommend it enough.We were super lucky to have had 2 black eagles join us for the glide, which was truly special. No scary take off, and no bumpy landing, try it if you are in the area 😉

We did the Miaspoort hike and paragliding. The experience is simply breathtaking on all accounts. The hike is already a treat for any nature lover and then you get to experience the beauty of the mountains from a whole new perspective with the paraglide down. The pilots are very professional, excellent at what they do, and clearly have a passion for their trade. Number 1 recommended activity in the Cape winelands.
