Wonderful atmosphere, live music, attentive waiters and a roaring fire on a cold evening, everything necessary to set the stage for the food! Delicious food, presented beautifully and every bite savored. From amazing starters, to a filling main and a mouth watering dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and will definitely be back, hungry for more!

My husband and I were stopped outside the entrance and intimidated by a group of white males who made racist remarks to us. I was very disappointed by this. Due to this incident we decided not to stay long and just had a cup of coffee. I will not be going back due to this unpleasant experience.

We had a meal at the restaurant on Saturday evening 25th September.I ordered the pork rib eye steak. Not a good choice.The pork was so smothered and overpowered with a basting sauce that steak could well have been horse meat, beef, lamb or poultry.I had one mouthful and that is all I could manage.It has to be the worst meal I have had anywhere

We were searching for a restaurant in the area when Google Maps actually recommended this one. This restaurant has this classy/casual look about it. It looks like you can have a fashion show there or just chill on the couch enjoying a cold one.It was quiet when we were there. Its probably because it was still early and cold when we popped in. The manager was kind enough to kick-start one of those tall gas heaters and that helped to warm up our spirits and table. So we thought lets give the food a go.The food was good quality, but not plenty. The drinks were cold and there was a good variety of both food and drinks. The service was good enough taking into consideration they had two waiters available working the entire restaurant.It got busier as the night progressed. Anyways, I think all and all it was ok. Give them a go. Enjoy!🍲

Charles runs an awesome restaurant. Food is fabulous, service is very good, prices average, lovely fire places, all the Covid protocol in place. A really wonderful treat to eat out or take away from. Definitely 5 star 🌟 worth a drive from Howick to dine there 😁❤️💯💯

Shocking experience. Wine glass had lipstick on it, we found a hair in the soup, the ribs were inedible and the rest of the food was bland and unexciting. No managers in sight and no reaction from anyone when we complained about the ribs. Really expensive for what it was and for a very unpleasant evening. I certainly would not recommend it to anyone.Thank you to managent for the response. We we there on Thursday eve 29 July around 7pm.

5 star for the food and extra more stars for the staff and their Manager.I gave this review 1 star because of the owner. I went to collect a take-away order at the bar and witnessed the owner kick out a patron for requesting consideration and respect.The owner was entertaining his 2 friends and one of them a lady felt it appropriate to speak very loudly and crassly pepper her speech with derogatory language. I could not bear the profanity and neither did the other tables including a family table with children under 13 years old.I hope the owner, now sober, would reflect on the bullying he and the friends dished out to all of us including the gentleman who tried to point out the indecency and was verbally attacked.

Visited this place after driving around the Midlands Meander and most beautiful places around close at 16h00O but ended up there and I opted for pizza though it was not my first option. Anyway next I wanted something sweet and after a long discussions with the waiter on choices I ended up choosing strawberry cheesecake and to my disappointment I was served something I wouldnt call a cheesecake. It didnt look appertising as the bottom layer crust looked grayish and the strawberry sauce was smudged like somebody putted a finger in it as if they were checking it if its still saucey which looked like some dry tomato sauce, I tried taking a bite size but there was no way I could eat that. Nicely told the waiter, I didnt like the cheesecake cause it was stale basically or simply put it was made 2 weeks ago and was no longer for human consumption. Waiter understood and the Manager thought there was nothing wrong with the cheesecake according to me he said and I thought to myself WOW I wonder how many people buy and eat stale cheesecake in that place and dont say cause according to the Manager its still fine to be sold to them but was so quick to give a refund. I wonder who even makes that thing and that poor slice or square thing costed R70 which for me would have costed atleast R20 too much even. First time there but would return for their pizza Ill give them credit for it.

Unfortunately all the efforts of the awesome management and staff are completely overshadowed by the general attitude, actions and obnoxiousness of the owner. If you are looking for an anything goes kind of environment, where the customer experience is not a priority, then this is the establishment for you. To maximize your experience, be sure to get drunk with the owner, he has your back. Very disappointed.

Waitress was not friendly and got our order wrong. She also did not know whats on the menu nor what the name of the place meant or stand for. I ordered jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon and grilled to share, because my wife is gluten intolerant and this we told her upon ordering. It came deep fried in crumbs. After this she said the bacon is inside, which it wasnt. She was the only waitress there on a Saturday afternoon. Worst service in a long time. I love jalapeno poppers and regularly order it. These poppers were not impressive at all, neither was the calamari starter which my wife had to order because of the crumbs on the poppers.For the main meal, we didnt receive any salt or tomato sauce. Upon request, she brought us a small bowl of tomato sauce which was only enough for one person.One starter, main course and drink each and the bill amounted to almost R500 and i only had the plain chicken burger.Utterly disappointing experience.

Dined there this weekend. There was a woman using loud vulgar language close to young children. A polite and conscientious gentleman intervened and asked her to stop. We then watched in disgust as the intoxicated restaurant owner chose to defend his rude and vulgar friends and asked the polite gentleman to leave. The staff and manager (who were amazing) watched helplessly as the owner undermined and embarrassed them. It ruined our meal and experience.

Could not have chosen better this afternoon. It is misty and cold in the berg. We are staying in Rosetta and this was close to our place. We struck gold. We had gluten free Regina Pizza and Pork Rib Eye steak. The food was perfect. The best pizza I have had in a very long time. The steak was equally good. Our waiter John was polite and gave us excellent service. The pizza oven and two fireplaces gave the place the extra warmth we craved on a cold, rainy day like today. Well done to the entire team. We will come back to your place next time we are in the Midlands.

The food is very good but they should add to or change the menu more often. The booze , especially the wines are extremely overpriced!Noise and loud music from the pub area can be a nuisance if you dinning for a nice relaxed evening

Basic cooking skills serve ok food. country restaurant with a pizza oven.A little fine tune the basic menu and preparation can lift this to a 5 star.Attentive staff and manager on duty brilliant.

Fantastic food and service. The chicken schnitzel, steaks and pizzas are great. Would highly recommend. Teresa has been our waitress a few times and she is always friendly and efficient. Every dish we’ve tried is cooked perfectly. The best eatery in the midlands.

Deathly quiet yet service was an absolute mission for the staff. Hair in pizza too which makes you question the level of hygiene in the kitchen. Definitely will not be back. 🤮

There was a blackout in Nottingham road, we pulled into v de v and they served is despite the blackout. We had wood fired pizza and cheesecake. The servers were friendly and when it came time to pay the speed point was offline. I did a eft from my mobile at the table, no problem. Management was amazing. Thank you for a memorable night, a true example of Natals warm and generous hospitality.

Service is absolutely terrible. Staff struggled to manage orders for 3 tables. Closing time is also incorrect. Kitchen is closed by 20:45. Place is apparently under new ownership. I would rather go find road kill than to go back there again.

Is alright. Im a bit disappointed that they tool their pulled pork baguette offf the menu. The ambience is quite high-end. Maybe a bit out of place in the midlands. They have a bar and their pizzas are yum. I felt the decor was a bit kitsch.
