Great restaurant with very good food. They had all sorts of meat including kudu wors, roast blesbok and zebra, grilled crocodile, chicken. Great, party atmosphere as well.

Highly recommend the place! The lunch was a hit! The dessert wasnt up to par though. Good vibe but a bit dark inside. Therefore, I would suggest going for lunch when you have sunlight streaming in. Thumbs up for thr service.

Great location, beautiful scenery, great vibe all around, I would give it 5 stars but the menu needs more sides, examples pumpkin, spinach, chakalaka etc. Also the chicken was very dry. Impala, springbok and other game meat was just delicious. Needs more variety on the desserts. I loved it though and will be taking my meat loving sister and mom soon❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is probably a very biased review from me but being a lover of my continent and more so my country i always get a very homely feeling at carnivore. The food is perfectly prepared and every type of meat could not taste better. This place is especially for people who like to try lots of different things at one go. You will taste like a minimum of 12 different things on the day if you choose to do so.... It is probably best to try a different place if you are a vegetarian as this is a meat eaters paradise. One of my all time favourite places and an easy recommendation from me.

If you love your meat, enjoy variety and the eat as much as you can buffet style then this is the place for you. Meats range from your typical sausages beef steaks and chicken to exotics like Crocodile, Zebra, Gemsbok, Blesbok to name but a few! You will also get unlimited salads sauces and starch such as pap. The service we had was absolutely superb. Minor things to be aware of is that it can be loud inside with crowd and music noise and the atmosphere is a little dark on the inside but still feels warm and welcoming.Covid precautions are in place and you will be temperature checked before entering.Go there hungry and enjoy!

Nice location, and restaurant is open and big. The soup was nice but didn’t enjoy the bread it tasted old. Some of the meat didnt make it to our table, but I enjoyed the crocodile, kudu, samosas and sausages. The side dishes were tasty. It’s a nice place to try out different meats, but I think the place need some updating to bring it back to what it was. The chairs are not clean, got served on chipped dishes and the cocktail menu was dirty and sticky.

This is definitely a place to experience. Great service. Exceptional menu. Variety venison meats, salads and starches. Smoking area available. Caters for all sorts of functions. Accommodation, massages, Gin box etc available on site. Top class. Super popular amongst tourists.

Wide variety of protein to choose from. Pumpkin soup was great. Lemon cheesecake and vanilla ice cream was light and refreshing and ristretto espresso rounded off the meal. Service very efficient.

The place is good but our waitress was not. Good ambience, food especially meat. They can add stews. Even if it can be beef, chicken and mutton stew.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Staff were amazing, it was clean, well organised and they have a lovely play area for children. The food was magnificent. I had a vegetarian meal and my boy ate off the kiddies menu. My friend enjoyed the full African dining experience and she loved it. Thank you Carnivore for a fabulous lunch!

Really a great experience. The perfect restaurant to take an international visitor as well as to be enjoyed as a local. The layout is fantastic. They serve you a variety of different meats including crocodile meat. The restaurant is located close to The Cradle of human kind so it makes for a great day out. They are very well priced and the quality of food is great. They have ample parking and also have conference facilities available.

I have been here twice once in 2017 and once in 2019, both times were great I really enjoyed trying the different types of meat.The types of meat I tried was Impala, Kudu, Zebra, Crocodile and there were others but I dont know how to spell the name!All the meats I tried were great, the crocodile is like chicken but a better version, eating crocodile makes me wish it was the same price to buy as chicken.The zebra meat also tastes like lamb they look and taste similar, I dont think I would know the difference between them, but the zebra was amazing so much moisture and taste.I have given this 4 stars instead of 5 as this time round in 2019 the crocodile was not as great 2019 time round as there was less meat on the portions, it looked like 2019 time it was a crocodile tail and 2017 time was somewhere different so there was more meat, a slight nitpick but when I came here 2019 time round I was really looking forward to trying the crocodile again but that was the only disappointment.I would still definitely come here again the food was great.

A great experience of trying a variety of different meats. The starters were delicious and the meals were well cooked. The pairing of sauces to meats was excellent. The baked potato, superb. The only thing I did not enjoy was the dessert. The mousse was grainy and the cheese cake was nothing to rave about either. The drum playing and singing was a lovely experience as well.

My boyfriend took me to misty hills for valentines and a dinner at carnivore was one of the agenda items for the weekend. I was highly impressed by the quality of food and ambiance. The menu was all you can eat, we had a bottle of wine included on our booking , the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and super efficient. It was such good value for money. I have been here a number of times and am super impressed that they have maintained the good customer service standards.

A nice place to go for meat lovers, I enjoyed the variety of meats on offer like crocodile, kudu,eland,zebra .The issue I had was the fact that you cant choose how you want your meat done because the same meat is served for everyone. As a resultyou end up being served half done meats. The decor is not the best, I do understand its an African theme but I think it can be improved. The food itself was ok , the chicken was very tasty and nice but the zebra meat was not well done . Overally the atmosphere was great and I would recommend

The restaurant is a bit dark. A little bit of lighting inside would be great. The service is wonderful. All staff members are friendly and efficient in their serving. I love their serving style, a bit different from your usual buffet restaurants, you get to relax whilst enjoying every meal offered. Lovely experience.

Nice place! Not one I would normally go but good enough for me :).The staff is super super friendly. It is all you can eat. And they stuff you with all they have! Croc,zebra,chicken anything you can imagine even game meat.It is huge and fully booked so you have to make reservations. In the center there is a huge grill where the prepare your meat. I really liked the ribs. The crocodile was a new experience that you have to try.The coffee is really good!But it is super ridiculous that you cannot pay cash!

This place was great. A great selection of wild game and a good atmosphere. One thing to beware of though..the hours reported arent right. The restaurant closes from 3pm to 6pm. Also, you need a reservation...ring ahead to make one. Iturned up without one, but was seated anyway as it wasnt busy.Also, something that isnt obvious...the restaurant is part of a larger complex that has a hotel, conference centre, etc....

I was very impressed! The food here is top notch! You get a large selection of local meats and many side options. Simply put, you wont be hungry anymore leaving this place! I highly recommend this place, especially if youre not from South Africa and are wanting to try something exotic!

Slipping I think. Limited days open, limited hours and the experience was just ok. Some menu items were missed like pap and jacket potatoes. Hope it improves again.I am interested to see that I received a response from the owner talking about the impact of Covid-19. Not answering phones or only having a single phone line available, being inconsistent with your opening hours and closing at 16:00 in the afternoon on the weekend is not as a result of lockdown regulations - my guess is that it might take you a while to realize this and then it might be too late. Perhaps when we had a curfew at 22:00 this would have been valid, but I dont think there are any regulations that causes you to close 5 or 6 hours early on a Saturday or Sunday?

This is in no way refined dining, but its a lot of fun. The premise is a fixed price (other than drinks) for a set starter (soup) and then they just keep bringing different meats and carve them at the table, with a choice of dessert. Pretty good value and the food is good.

There are varieties of game meats, but abit too salty for me, good for experience.
