Unreal experience, great staff who really care for the sharks!

Awesome experience, everyone should at least try it, even if you dont go into the cage. Its still an experience to behold!

Very exciting once in a lifetime experience. We thought they could have done some education about Great Whites in Mossel Bay

Early morning start with loads of interesting information. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately on our trip there was no sharks... only amazing views and loads of seals!We received a voucher for a future visit; hopefully next time we see sharks!

My personal assessment and recession is based on my opinion. Whether you see shark is, of course, a matter of luck, just like a safari. One star only, because we have not seen sharks. We waited 4 hours but unfortunately no white sharks came. The crew told me that to 90% they have luck. But also that it is different every day. And in recent years less And less shark will be spotted. Another traveller was the day before in Gaansbai and there was a white shark spotted there, but just a little one and he leaved the divers after 20 minutes. We were a few days later in James Town after that and asked the offer company there. They shared with us that in Mossel bay are almost no more white sharks. That we havent seen any is bad luck, of course.The Crew was very friendly and expert at all times! Since we didnt see anything, we got 20% of the Money back. Whether Mossel Bay, Gaansbai or James Town are the best Areas, I cant say.

I really liked all the explanation about white sharks they made at the beginning, they where a great team really nice and friendly. In the boat you re really near those ocean giants, its crazy, an experience i wont forget ever.

Great tour!!! Not to be missed! This is once in a lifetime tour. Not scary at all and you learn a lot about the sharks.

Great trip where we saw a lot of sharks. Food / breakfast is unnecessary and of low quality. Service is okay but the price is way too high.

Amazing experience! I saw 8 different Great Whites the first day with okay visibility and 5 different Great Whites the second day with exceptional visibility. Mossel Bay typically is the home to juvenile Great Whites, but we did end up seeing a 4.5 meter white pointer which was incredible. Originally I wanted to do more dives, but I was so happy with the experience that I wanted to quit while I was ahead per se. I mean, 13 different sharks over two days?! Wasnt trying to test my luck. Richard and Alan were extremely knowledgeable and you could see that they truly care about the great whites.

Chose to take a day out of a short holiday to go Shark Diving and went with these guys given the good reviews. On arriving they were very honest and told us that the likelihood of seeing any sharks was lower than normal at the moment. Given the option to leave given our short time in SA.Obviously there is always a risk that no sharks will be around, which is a totally reasonable risk to take however we were very grateful they took the effort to tell us the chances were lower than usual and allowed us to make better use of the day.Hope to return again soon and try our luck for a second time.

My husband and I went shark cage diving while on our honeymoon. It is very apparent that the staff truly love their job and love the sharks they work with. They are all very knowledgeable and caring. Many of the sharks have been named because they are seen often in the same area. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend to anyone visiting South Africa.

Great experience. You start off with breakfast and a briefing and then walk to the boat for a 10-15 min boat ride to seal island where the sharks are waiting. Get on the boat first and you can sit on the upper deck where the view is great. Don your wetsuit, jump in the cage and get ready to watch. The water visibility was bad the day we were there, about a meter but you could still get a glimpse from the cage. The best viewing was actually from the top deck so even if you dont get in the cage you will still have an awesome experience. When you get back to the store, you have a light lunch and watch the video from your trip. Total time from start to finish, about 3.5 hrs.Just be aware that if the winds are strong or there is bad weather they will cancel and it can be hard to rebook so give yourself at least two days there just in case. We booked in False Bay which canceled due to winds. Then we went to Gansbaai which cancelled the first day due to stormy weather but we got a dive in the next day. We got lucky in Mossel Bay and went the first day. Mossel Bay has the best weather of the 3 locations.

Amazing experience. They were fully booked on the day but after a last minute cancellation managed to squeeze two of us in. Saw 4/5 great whites on the 11 oclock viewing and sounds like all trips have had that sort of number. Was a really great day, helpful and informative staff - Would thoroughly recommend!

We didnt get any information the day before the trip as mentioned by them. As we drove there in the morning they told us we were not on the list and there is one spot left for the 14:00 trip. The booking agent told us she can put us on the list because usually they have people that dont go on their second trip of the day.So what I think happened. No availabilities for the morning tour. So they havent told us anything and would have for the 14:00 tour in case they get another free seat. Thanks... cost us 1 day of our trip.

These guys really love what they do! They were friendly, informative and helpful. They did everything they could to make sure everyone had a great experience. I definitely recommend this place!

Good tourist focused service. They take personal care that you have a grrat shark experience. If you dont for many natural reasons beyond human control, they offer you a free second trip. Really appreciate it !

Saw a juvenile white shark after 2 hours of waiting. Very good and professional crew. Worked hard to make sure we saw a shark. Shark came within 50cm of the cage, crazy experience

Friendly staff. We did the Mosselbay trip. We had a light but sufficient breakfast on arrival. They really try the whole time to locate sharks. We waited a longggg time, but eventually they came. We saw about 4 great whites. We were 18 on the boat and 5 in the cage at a time. I think that 6 will be to crowded. Got chips, fruit and juice available on the boat, and a muffin on arrival again.

Great guides who educate you before your trip. It is not just about jumping in a cage. They teach you about the shark and why they are so important to the ecosystem. 10/10 would recommend this experience.

Overall a very good experience, ran a little behind schedule (we waited from 2 to about 3 o clock for things to start and were told to be there at 1:15 for some reason). The ladies at the front desk were polite and all our team on the boat were fantastic. We were able to see four great whites on our dive and felt the crew on the boat kept us safe and were professional. A little bit pricey but in my opinion it was worth it.The only kind of negative that we experienced was the volunteer coordinator lady from Buffalo that gave the talk at the beginning kind of rushed through it (skipped a lot of the presentation to “save time” even though we sat around for an hour waiting) and was openly hostile to her coworkers in front of clients so that was kind of awkward.Overall though, a good experience and I would recommend it.

An amazing experience with close encounter of viewing sharks and white sharks in the amazing form. We also got lucky by having glimpse of cluster of passing whales.

Insane experience, one of the best things Ive ever done (and this is from someone who has spent the last 15 yrs terrified of sharks). You know as you go out that a sighting cant be guaranteed but the team on the boat work so hard to make it happen.

7th March 2019: we went to the office as they told us the previous day around 7:15am and first they ask you to register and pay and then when everyone is having a small breakfast they start with a speech about white sharks (nice talk) and about safety while the journey. After that they told us that they did not see any shark the past days....and we thought... umss why they did not tell that before paying??? Maybe we didn’t risk for today and we’ll wait til Gansbai to do it....We know that humans cannot control and guess when the sharkies will show up but at least they can maybe check it in the early morning before going with the customers(the place is just 15 min far from the harbour) and 800m far from the coast....I would suggest that to the company or at least to be honest before paying. Not gonna recommend this company.

We wanted to do Shark Cage Diving in Capetown as well as in Gansbaai, but they recommended us to go to Mosselbaai because there were Orcas attacking the sharks there as well as chasing them away, they told us that normally theres an 98% of seeing sharks but probably only 2% when we were there.Hence the reason we decided to do this with White Shark Africa.Great experience!Wonderful light breakfast and light lunch(vegetarian options), very clear and good briefing.The captain and crew were very nice as well. We saw six different sharks in total with a couple of them we think 4M or longer! Every group was able to see a couple of sharks and the view from atop of the boat was wonderful as well.Had crisps and juice on board and it was a sunny day without wind.The water is not all too clear (compared to the Caribbean ha!) but we were still able to see the sharks and the crew tried to throw the tuna heads as close to the cage as possible (and safety permits). We also saw whales from a far, as well as seals and two little penguins.Was an AWESOME half day. We recommend taking the morning tour!

Fantastic experience of shark 🦈 cage diving

Awsum awsum awsum 9 sharks for the time we where out on the boat . was a once in a lifetime experience and wil do it again. It is expensive but worth every penny. The crew has an amazing passion for what they do and they just love the sharks .

The company is ok, well organised. We had a great experience. The problem is that the visibility is quite reduced in the water and the sharks are better seen from the boat than from the cage in the water. Now I doubt if the experience is worth.

I have to say this was by far most worst experience I have had in all the times I have visited South Africa. Extremely unprofessional. I booked a cage diving trip departing in the afternoon (1pm) in Mossel bay. White Shark Africa was the actually company I used. I was undecided as to whether I should go for the more popular Gansbaai or Mossel bay. I chose the Mossel Bay trip because in the itinerary looked good and the shark site listed was a seal colony only 10 minutes away. (Seal colonies tend to attract more sharks so it seemed like a better chance). The whole trip was to run from 1pm until 6pm, which was plenty of time which should also increase the chances. I arrived early and watched the morning groups trip video. They had gone to the seal colonies island (10 minutes away) and managed to see 3 sharks. It all sounded so promising. But after boarding the boat, they did not take us to the seal colony instead of a 10 minute ride it turned out to be around 35minutes and was just in the middle of the open ocean. They began to chum and put the cage in the water. Nothing showed up. So after an hour or so they decided to actually go to the place listed on the schedule, where they had just seen 3 sharks. We arrived at the seal colony but they began to put the dive suits away, did not chum, and the cage was never placed in the water. We simply rode around the seal colony and with out a word we headed back to the landing point (10 minutes away). There were no apologies or no explanations as to why they did not follow the itinerary. We were back at the crew house by 4:20pm. No refunds were granted. They did offer vouchers for another trip... The couple in line ahead of me tried to use the voucher for the following day.... But they were told they were fully booked. The following day was fully booked as well.(then how is someone supposed to use the voucher???)I called the booking agent in Cape Town, who was very understanding but nothing changed. If they had followed the schedule and we had spend as much time as was listed and did not see a shark I would just mark it up as bad luck.... But they had just seen 3 sharks at the place scheduled and had spent the full time there with the first group.... So I cannot mark it up as bad luck but incompetence and horrible business practices. I tried numerous times to contact the business but they were neither apologetic nor did the address the fact that they had fundamentally breached the contract. I have heard many good things about the company but my experience was horrible.

Positively the best place to visit to learn about sharks. Great service, professional and offers exception education about this amazing animals.

Highly Recommended! Mega cool experience! The crew drove with us near Diaz Beach. There is a seal point where we anchored. The first great white sharks came after about 20-25 minutes! Just unbelievable! They were only 1.5 to 2 arm lengths from one in the boat. When the first three of us got into the water in the cage, several times they had great white sharks swimming right past them. Not all of the sharks could see them, however, because the water was a little too cloudy that day. After about 25 minutes in the cage, we personally had no luck that the sharks swam past us. The other guests on the boat confirmed that one was with us ;-). The view from the boat just seems to have been better that day. If you look at the pictures of how the sharks sometimes attack the cage, it would have been an even better experience.PS .: I read in a review here that the person complained that he / she did not see any sharks on their trip and that the money would be too much for that. I would like to say: Thats Nature !!! Surely we would have been disappointed if that had happened to us, but you are not in an aquarium, but in the open ocean! The employees of the company cannot help!

Unique moment during which we saw several white sharks. UnbelievableAmazing day, we see some great white sharks.

The experience was incredible. After a brief explanation in their center they take you walking to the boat that is 2 minutes away. Destiny is an islet full of sea lions that smells like a thousand demons. They anchor the boat and start throwing a kind of fish gut soup to attract sharks while preparing the cage. I recommend that you rent a tube at the dive shop next door since they will only give you the wetsuit and glasses. We had 4 white sharks giving all the time to the tuna heads that put them on a rope. An incredible expectation to see such moles. If you do not carry a towel they leave you in the center in exchange for a deposit. Once the expedition is finished, you can buy the video of the day.

Of the best experiences that I lived in my life, the kids are very cool, absolutely knowledgeable about the subject and take great care of the animals and it shows. They give you the costumes and snacks for the trip.

Excellent experience!Appointment given at 9:15 we returned a little before 14h.We were about 20 on the boat for three rotations of twenty minutes each.Luckily we were able to observe 7 splendid tall whites.The staff is at the top.

First of all, just awesome.On the first day 3 great white sharks, on the second day also 3 and on my last exit 6 !!! great white sharks, the largest with 3.5 meters ...Hammer crew, tried very hard. Simply recommended!

While it is true that nobody guarantees that you will see white sharks, there are some data that they should mention before going to this Tour. We realized later. White shark sightings have declined significantly in recent years. Some attribute this to the arrival of killer whales. This is unclear and transparent when hiring them. Not to mention it, and I think that for the price they charge they should be clearer about it.

I was scared to death !!! But I felt super safe and had so much fun! Its expensive, but its worth it!

We were here several times to book a tour, unfortunately we were always told that there are killer whales in the bay at the moment, for which White Shark Africa can not do anything. How then with reservation and reservation inquiries, also by email was dealt with is a cheek. You didnt answer at all, then you stand in the shop and know about the May and still show it, then you only get snappy answers, we do not process e-mails here and are not treated customer-friendly. It is not common for people to talk about animals with such passion. the people of white shark africa live for these animals. they really take the time to show you the animals. luckily the moment arrived after an hour of waiting. 5 sharks at the same time. if you are in the area this is a must do !!

I loved the experience of swimming with sharks. For those who go, be patient as it takes time but they appear. Vomiting is common on the boat. Have plastic bags and dramim in hand. Sunscreen and patience. When they appear they are a spectacle.

An unforgettable experience, you have to be patient, the boats are luxurious, we saw 3 great whites, beautiful, all this is done in respect of nature and animals. The kids were delighted and the parents too. Breakfast, fruit sandwich and unlimited drinks. PERFECT for a reasonable price
