The atmosphere is nice and chilled especially if you sitting outdoors.The food menu is limited, mostly seafood dishes. However the service is relatively slow. This is the second time we have been here on a Saturday and service was slow again , we even asked the waiter whats the hold up.Its worth a try for food and atmosphere

My experience was amazing 😃, the environment is very pleasing, perfect for date, or a client based event to close your deals in style. This place is also well located in Waterfall

Top class for seafood but the booze will set you back a bit. Its like they have surge pricing for alcohol. The wine list is sufficient but almost eveything thats good starts from R 600 upwards.

The food was good however the service was incredibly slow. We were thirsty during most of our experience and had to call on other waiters for assistance. Our drinks orders took roughly 45 min to arrive. We found ourselves ordering 2 drinks at a time to avoid the waiting period in between. You guys have great potential, but require vigorous staff training in order to meet customer expectations.

Lunch with hubby. Beautiful restaurant good service and yummy food. Tastefully plated. You choose your seafood that’s on display which is then prepared for you.

The restaurant has a sophisticated feel about it the moment you walk in the door, from the textured wall finishes to the wine glasses, all very well appointed. The hostess that met us at the door was very polite and professional. The fresh fish counter is fantastic and consists of all the favorites you would expect, all available to order and cooked to your liking. The bar is an absolute plus point for me as the whiskey selection is superb, this is always a very good indicator of the level of sophistication of an establishment (again this is according to me). The wine selection is also very good and well priced. The food is excellent and very well priced. Waiting staff are professional and very friendly. This is what we need in the Midrand area, excellent food, wine and service, in a sophisticated setting. Nicely done Codfather, we will be back and I will sing your praises to all.

Absolutely nice atmosphere, the food was great (I had the seafood platter for two). You could take your partner there but you can also go with your team to enjoy nice food and overall nice service. I would definitely go back again.Not really child friendly for me, I wouldnt go with my kids there they probably would not enjoy it there because I didnt see a play area

Ordered the seafood platter.The prawns and langoustines were over cooked and tough. The waiter Sakhile was fantastic. I had a birds eye view over the bar and noticed extremely poor hygiene behind the bar. Guy scratching his face/head and one guy picked his nose. They both handled the glasses and ice right after. Because hygiene is imperative for me I definitely won’t be back.

Excellent service, 1st time experience was amazing. Beautiful customer service and the meals are of 5star level. i enjoyed each and every minute spent at this place.they can improve bathrooms refreshing upstairs, it was not as clean as the one downstairs.

It was the first time going to this Codfather and I was disappointed. I suppose I am used to the Sandton one which is very open , bright and has a very light hearted look and feel. This branch was a little pricey, a seafood dinner for two without any sort of alcohol just sparkling water came to just under R1500. The service was very slow, not much attention from our waiter. I will give another chance for lunch hope I will have a better experience.

Food was bland and tasteless. Woke up the next morning feeling sick from the tuna steak. Tuna steak seemed like it was frozen and the fried and refried. Wasabi mash was just mash. Please stay away and cook at home instead.

Service is non-existent , manager is clueless, lady behind fresh fish counter does not know her product , the chefs overcooked all the food, chips were stale & oily , vegetables served were looked and tasted like it was a few days old and just heated up in a microwave. All the food was flavourless. The Mozambique tiger giants overpriced at 1500 per kg - served dry , flavourless and been sitting under the warmer for too long . Calamari selected ended up being 90% squid heads instead of tubes - they switch your food when you walk away after choosing. The line fish served up dry overcooked & flavourless. The coke and the ice tea was ok, but thats because it wasn’t made by this restaurant. Avoid this overpriced incompetent service restaurant at all costs , you can get better food at an Ocean Basket. If want to spend similar money rather go to Fishmonger or 1920 or Fireroom. This place only has location going for it.

For the best views of Midrand and Waterfall together with the mouth watering seafood platters and yummy desserts & their house brand ice cream. Make sure you pay them a visit on a clear Spring night out and enjoy 😉

Marvelous restaurant with best wines and fish.

Had one of the worst experiences. The waitress was inattentive. No utensils. Drinks coming late. Starters came late. An hour later, still no mains. It was a shame because the sushi we ordered was delicious. Eventually left without eating mains. Dont see myself going back there unfortunately.

The aesthetic is cool but there is no Ambiance, you have to borrow vibes from next door. The food wasnt great, very different menu to Sandton. Things arent up to scratch with the Codfather brand in that sense

Wasnt our best experience. A bit overcrowded, with very little waiter attention. Food wasnt spectacular, and booze prices are quite steep.

Really nice vibes, chilled restaurant, helpful and friendly stuff bt the cocktail mixer/bartender needs to get his mixing right and be consistent.

We had a delicious dinner - the best sushi as a starter and my husband and I shared a platter. There was so much that we ended up taking some home for lunch the next day. They have an impressive wine list for my husband, the wine lover, and a list of new and innovative cocktails for me. Would recommend for anyone wanting a special meal out.

Usually have a good experience with Codfather but was disappointed this evening. Took over an hour after ordering for the food arrive. The tuna steak was poorly seasoned and the seafood tagliatelle was cold

The fried calamari starter was fine. We had to wait over an hour for our main meals. I ordered the truffle Sole which should be light and delicate. There was no truffle flavor and the fish was so dry and burnt.My husband ordered the prawn curry which was watery and a tiny portion. He had to get a steers burger afterwards.Also had to tell a waiter twice to wear his mask and not wear it under his chin. Saw a bartender who was making a cocktail not wearing his mask and sipping on a can of lemonade.

Mr Busi was nothing short of exceptional, he is accomaccomadative, friendly and efficient. Great service ,keep up the great professional work

Terrible service , terrible food very slow . Food comes cold .The lady that served us had a terrible attitude. Waiters are very selective with customers if they feel or think you have money then they give you energy if they think you dont then its slow service. We tiped her even though it was terrible .Restaurants should not treat any customers like that . Always provide great service no matter financial ground at the end of the day all they want is for customers to pay. Takes forever to get food . Horrible experience I guess they assumed I couldnt afford being there lol

Had an amazing evening @thecodefatherwaterfall, the staff was very friendly and the food amazing, the sushi chef is an artist. Definitely the new place to frequent if you need some good sushi and a lovely ambiance.

Very bland food, took forever to arrive, had to go get something else to eat afterwards because of the small portion. Not sure why its getting such high ratings - something smells fishy here.In response to the response - it was about an hour ago (11/06/2021) that my wife and I were there. Ordered the truffle sole (dry as hell), and the prawn curry (bland as hell). Yes, I know, Im not complaining about any smell, I hope its clear that I was using that as a metaphor 😅.

Absolutely amazing experince last night at the codfater after being dissapointed by the potato shed.Staff were very friendly.Ambiance was perfect.food was Spectaculer.Fillet with mixed veggies is a winner.Tuna looked pretty great aswell.10/10 reccomend this to the potato shed , which i was anadvocate for.

The staff are friendly, when you got to see them. The food was mediocre and over priced. Not one dish arrived as ordered and the hour and a half wait was not worth it. The acoustics are shocking and an overall poor performance. We wont be going back.

I had such a fabulous experience at the new Codfather polofields. The ambience is fantastic, decor simply gorgeous, the fish counter is such an eye catcher, wine experience was excellent with variety to choose from (local and international). My food was not only instagramable, their combination of flavour hits the back of your throat and lives asking for more! To seal of the night, had my first ever encounter with the deep fried cheese cake omg unbelievable! Thank you so much to the team for such a great service, Ive longed for this in a long time😁😊😊.
