Absolutely Beautiful venue. Attended a wedding weekend there and I was pretty happy with most things. Only things was not having coffee in the main house but that was a minor blip on an otherwise brilliant experience. Accommodation, restaurant, reception hall, chapel and all the grounds were great. Definitely will be back. Thanks guys.

The view is absolutely breathtaking and it was lovely to see the horses! Their food is delicious, only thing I would say is that they don’t have much variety in their menu. Their service was slow as well. Otherwise it is a lovely place to eat out.

Its a nice day out when you go here. Seating in the fresh air can be in high demand on weekends so reservations may be required. A reservation is definitely required if one wants seating in view of a screen for a sports event - like a Springbok rugby match. But the best seats, it must be said, are outside overlooking the grounds on sunny day. The food was good and the beer and gin tastings offer the chance for most palates to find something to savour.

Lovely venue with a lot of places to eat under the trees (and some shaded/enclosed areas).Food is average with a small amount of options on the menu.Roads leading there can be a bit nasty with potholes and trucks - single lanes, so limited passing

Amazing scenery , lovely to see the beautiful gardens and well looked after horses . It was a very relaxing atmosphere and the food was great too . We had a wonderful time . We attended the gin tasting, it was a bit of a raw gin experience . I recommend using the correct mixers for each gin to chase accordingly and not using only tonic water as a mix ...The beet was amazing and quite interesting.Other than that everything was perfect from start to finish . Would definitely recommend The Black Horse Brewery to everyone ...Nice work guys

Beautiful views and tasteful venues. Great food and quick service at the restaurant. Would recommend trying the gin tasting afterwards... but be warned its strong (our favourite was the Mulberry Sours). Lovely weekend outing!

One of the best breweries around Magaliesberg, located nearly 60 km away from Sandton, this place is very well organized and the view is amazing. Horses on the farm, walk way to the farm and the stay is always amazing at Black Horse Brewery and Distillery. Food is tasty and reasonable. Staff is kind and always happy to assist. Make sure to do the booking of the couch area if you have a group bigger than 7-8 persons. Also there is a wedding venue which is amazing and also decorations can make it more stunning.There are also some dishes for people who are vegetarian and can choose between pizzas, burgers, fries etc. Wine tasting is also on the other side of the place and that cozy place gives you some nice vibes to taste wine at Black Horse Brewery. Price range is also very reasonable and a good place for Year End functions as there is more than enough space for around 200-300 persons. There are some nice places to visit and hike and also some 4x4 trails if you are an enthusiast about these activities. Some nearby camping sites are also amazing so one can either choose to stay at BlackHorse Brewery or can choose to book a campsite nearby and visit this place if you don’t want to do the day visit to this place.

Staff members, food, beer and atmosphere thats worth the journey there. Highly recommend for making it your wedding venue on one of the most important days of your life. Guarentee that you can sit back and relax and be sure to know that everything is taken care of for you. Highly recommend ♡

We were fortunate enough to share in a gorgeous wedding ceremony at Black Horse Brewery & Distillery. The entire estate is breathtakingly beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are spotless, the grounds are pristine, the gardens tranquil and manicured, the chapel where the wedding ceremony took place was elegantly and tastefully decorated, and the reception area, where do I begin! The fireplaces were life-saving on the cold autumn nights. Food that was served were top-class (we had beef fillet on creamy mash with roast veggies and a jus), and a choc brownie with vanilla ice-cream and a choc-chip cookie. All in all, a splendid experience. The next morning we were back for breakfast, and although we waited some time for our food, it was worth the wait. Can clearly see why it’s such a popular venue. They’re having a Father’s Day tasting and lunch event, book your tickets now!

Good Covid-19 controls in place. Good food and awesome outside seating. The beer tasting paddle is a must as well as a walk in the gardens.

What an amazing place! Simply breathtaking views, food and drinks to perfection, fun for kids and relaxing for adults, stunning wedding venue...too much to mention in words! This is truly a place that deserves a visit!!! I would go back there every weekend if I could!!! Views were so stunning, I didnt get to capture as much as I would have loved to, but undoubtedly when I am there again!

Great place to hang out with friends and family but their menu is not kids friendly and it is limited. I went their for fathers day but found their fathers day combo finished and they didnt have steak! The food wasnt delicious but the service was ok.

What a great place to have lunch. Food was ok. The setting is awesome and well worth the drive. Our table was booked and ready when we arrived. Service a little slow but ok. Craft beer and a full bar includes canned sparkling wine. After lunch able to walk in the gardens and check.out brewery and the horses.There was a garden wedding in progress which looked an awesome place to get married. There appears to be accommodation for these purposes.

What a lovely place to have lunch just outside of Magaliesburg. Beautifully kept grounds and terraced gardens. Various options to sit and enjoy a meal, inside and outside. Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Horses on the property. Accommodation options. A trampoline and play area for kids. Lots of pathways to explore. A tasting room. So much more. We did not get the chance to see it all. Will be back, for sure.

Very nice hang out spot for weekends, only complaint place is full...but thats a good thing because its a nice place to go.I recommend booking a table with 15 of your favorite friends in advance. Place is extremely child friendly. Definitely worth the 60km drive from central JHB

I love the vibe. Food. Their beers. Accommodation you feel at home. More healthy food like salads, veggies are needed.

What a place! The natural beauty, combined with the amazing food makes Black Horse one of the jewels in the area. The gardens are pristine, so we took a lovely walk after we had an AMAZING cheeseburger. The place was buzzing with people, so I suppose the service had to suffer a bit...but the quality of the food makes up for that.

Beautiful setting in the Country side, combined with great food is a recipe for a day of relaxation with friends. Everything creates the mood for a wonderful time spent. If you plan to spend an hour or two you will end up with 3-4 hours spent at this fantastic venue with the added bonus of a brewery and Gin distillery.

This is a very pretty venue. Unfortunately due to the amount of people arriving without reservations (they dont take bookings) they seem to get overwhelmed and treat you like a number. Our food took 1 hour to arrive and was not up to standard. The menu is also limited.

After phoning to make a reservation for a birthday they said they cannot make a reservation for us, but we are welcome to pull through and just grab a table. We get there on the day.... There are no tables available!!!!! I do not reccomend this place to anyone wanting to share a special occasion with loved ones as they just do not go the extra mile to even make a reservation.... horrible place

Black Horse does not answer their telephone, I have phoned everyday this week, multiple times! They also do not response to emails. So i am not sure how we are suppose to make reservations. This is very disappointing for a lovely (as i know it) place like yours. Better to find alternatives options in the area.

Wow Wow Wow!! Absolutely wow! What an amazing restaurant & wedding / conference venue!! Yes it is totally in the middle of nowhere and guaranteed to be quite a distance away from where ever you are, but trust me it is absolutely worth it.We took a chance going there with less than the highest of hopes, but from the first second we got there we were completely blown away - even the parking lot is beautiful!! Lol.When you walk in you are greeted by the warmest and single most helpful restaurant hostess I have ever encountered, then we were led through the entire venue to choose where we would most like to sit. It was a rather chilly day so we chose the cosiest spot in the world inside in a quiet private little nook by the entrance of the beer tasting bar right by a beautiful fireplace and window seat.The menu is a bit simple due to covid restrictions etc but that definately doesnt mean to say that it is lacking in any way. Every single thing on the menu looks amazing and is super reasonably priced. The food we ordered was amazing, as was the beer tasting tray we ordered. There are also gun and wine tasting bars aswell.Afterwards we took a walk around the entire property and it just blew us away. Everything is just beautiful, well maintained and totally manicured to perfection. The place was super busy despite being in the middle of nowhere and the vibe was amazing.If you ever have an afternoon with no plans and feel like having one of the best meals in the best restaurants in the country then treat yourself and go for it :)

Great place to visit. Very green and beautiful, though menu is limited and parking can be tough if any wedding is planned. Visited on Valentine day, was very busy as a wedding was going on.

Amazing wood fired pizza in the café area, good beer, tried the Golden Draught and the IPA. Great service and the grounds remain exceptionally beautiful. Vegetarian / Vegan friendly.

The restaurant is a bit short staffed at the moment. Its a Brewery but they didnt efficiently change beer taps when the one beer casket was empty. Some waitresses werent properly trained/informed about beers being finished and general food and drink insights.Our burgers were dry and the breakfast burger didnt have any garnish on it. It was an ok experience but I expected more from such an established Brewery - better service and food. But it might just be circumstances.

What an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. Hygiene is top notch and every staff member was wear a mask. We spent 5 wonderful hours there with our family and had such an experience with the gin and wine tastings, breakfast and lunch and a very good live band. Ill recommend this place to anyone looking to relax.

Ordered by the same waitress twice for 2 drinks after 40 min from being there asked her again and the order was still not given to the bar. We left immediately. To many customers for service. Beautiful surroundings.

Great place, awesome views and lovely food. For a gin and craft beer place there was only 2 beers available and literally only 1 gin. A little disappointed. The staff were good (sometimes slow) but found things on our bill that we didnt even have.

Really great place. Their beers are really good an tasty and they have proper good food. I enjoyed the way everything came in disposable containers. Food comes in boxes and beer in plastic glasses. The gin tasting is amazing. They have a great selection of craft gins. Bit far from Pretoria where I live, but it was worth the travel.

Extremely disappointed with the restaurant and the establishment as a whole. Our margarita pizza was unevenly cooked (some slices were still half cooked dough), the berry beer (under the beer section) is actually a cider (which they dont explain to you - and it tastes like a cordial juice), the tasting section closes when they feel like it so you arent able to plan your activities for the time there (we wanted to do the tasting at 3pm but they were already closed). I lost count at how many times I heard about the establishments operational issues where the beer tasting operates differently from the restaurant and then the brewery tours cant be relied upon. Its just a mess! Thats besides the part where I was told upon entry that my table number is X and my guests had already arrived, only to find the same race group at said table, but they were not my friends... safe to say I wont be back. I sincerely hope the discussion I had with their manager filters to those who have the authority to make changes. The last time I visited was over 3 years ago and we had such a memorable experience, but as it stands, I wouldnt recommend this place to a friend.

Wine tasting, gin tasting, ribs, eisbein, views and views. This family owned restaurant was a great treat ! It’s a drive out into the country side but its worth it after the experience we had. Our pictures say it all !
