The lifestyle Centre in Ballito is awesome. A must to try is most definitely Beira Alta Portuguese restaurant..Upon arrival always greeted by friendly staff. The layout and ambiance is great. Really enjoy their trinchado and overall experience.Food presentation had been consistently good and have enjoyed my visits each time ..

Generous portions of well priced food, cooked to perfection. Waiters and management are very friendly and facilities were impeccably clean. Ourselves waiter Richard was an absolute machine, but super helpful. The restaurant has an awesome vibe which culminates in a relaxed family ambience. The chicken and prawn combo is the specialty and its well worth it

Lovely evening with superb pawns, calamari and chicken dishes. However the espetada was not great. The meat was laced with sinew and unpleasant to eat. Management graciously offered a replacement meal and would discuss with the meat supplier. The ice-cream and Belgian chocolate sauce did much to sweeten the experience. Thank you.

Fresh rolls, butter and sauce was the highlight of our meal. The rest of our food wasnt traditional portuguese food but i suppose different works for some. I say again the sauces were very nice the boys enjoyed the chicken strips with the sauce.

I loved the ambiance, the service was a bit slow as the restaurant was full to its capacity.I had the chicken with prawns, Omg the sauce was mouth watering. Beira Alta must consider opening a restaurant in JHB.

The starters were excellent and my Boyfriend loved his mains. I wouldnt recommend the prego roll mains. Very small hot dog size prego they give you 2. Id prefer to have a authentic prego bun with steak and garnish, cheese and fried egg. The sauce was very bland. Nandos make a really good one. The Dom Pedros are absolutely delicious.

Belated revue...the food was delicious, the service superb..I had the sole in lemon butter sauce with baby potatoes and your veg stir-fry.It was so good i can still taste it. My partner had the pork chops,,ditto,,.I give you 10 stars for offering my ridgeback (Vikeli) a sanitized bowl of water, but he always travels with his own...... AGAIN thanks we will be back when next in the area.

Enjoyed a wonderful family lunch in celebration of my Dads 60th birthday. Our server was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Regrettably I cannot recall his name but he had a lovely demeanor about him. The setting is very fresh and oceanic. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the chicken and prawn stir fried veggies which was absolutely delicious. The calamari starter was cooked to absolute perfection with juicy and tender calamari tubes and heads in a lemon sauce. My mum was vegetarian for the day and enjoyed her veg pasta. Whilst the vegetarian options are few and limited she did enjoy the pasta and the portion was very generous. It was a really great family meal at a lovely restaurant. However I did find it odd that no managers came around to check if we were okay and that our meals were to our satisfaction. Most other restaurants do as a matter of customer service. Just something I noticed but in no way can our meals be faulted. A little on the pricy side but great for a special occasion or treat.

Probably the best restaurant that I have been to. Consistent service and food is always a high standard. Very neat and clean, even the toilets. Presentation of the venue is appeasing. Menu is vast and caters for most people, lacks a kids menu but there are many meals suitable for kids. Hot and not enhances the flavours. Always been an enjoyable experience at this venue. Keep it up.

Great food and great service. Their seafood was absolutely delicious, everything cooked to perfection! The chocolate brownie dessert is soft and gooey and by far the best dessert Ive had in a while. The wait staff is warm and welcoming and even though the restaurant was busy, our food arrived quickly. This restaurant is a must when visiting Ballito!

From joburg always went to the one in monte casino went to biera alta a few nights ago in the lifestyle centre the food was absolutely awesome hats off to the chef,havent tasted this quality of food since the start of biera at monte

In light of Covid19 & its restrictive measures,we adventured to Brita Alta.We were welcomed at the door, screened & proceeded to our table.There were ample of social distancing & sanitiser on our table.Our waiter Richard,took extremely good care of us ,while wearing his mask throughout our dining.Richard was professional,knowledgeable & kind.He advised us meal choices & about Covid 19 protocols/measures that are enforced by BA & Lifestyle Centre.Our meals came through quickly & was beautifully presented .The meals were delicious,served hot & rather generous portions.(go there hungry).Although there is new management ,the standards of quality,excellence & affordability have been met & maintained.We have frequented BA many many times over the years & they have never disappointed.Highly recommended.Well done to Richard & management.

This restaurant is a must. The full chicken comes in a tasty sauce and good price as well. The Salads are very good and the prawn dishes are very tasty. Great friendly staff.

My current favorite eating venue...if you havent tried it, i highly recommend if you enjoy Portuguese cuisine.

Great food, loved the calamari and chicken livers

This has been one of my favorite places to eat at over the years. Never been disappointed until today. I took two of my clients here for brunch this morning and the food was nowhere near its known standards. Chips were old and burnt. Food lacked the quality that the place normally maintains. On the contrary, the service was excellent.

If youre looking for delicious spicy portuguese style prawns - this place is a must! 👌

On a friendly recommendation, I booked a table at Beira Alta. Drove about 30kms to get to the centre where the restaurant is. We had a warm welcome at the door and we were shown to our table. After some perusing through the menu, drinks order was placed and the drinks (daiquiri and mojito) were brought to the table in a good time. For mains, we ordered Dina’s Prawn and Calamari. One with chips and the other with potatoes. The chips was excellent, wow! Prawns were ok, calamari tubes were “chewy”. Wasn’t the “wow factor” what I was looking for. Waiter was good though.

We were recommended this Eatery and it was worth it in every sense. The atmosphere was buzzing and busy and had to wait a while before we sat down to absolutely delicious spicy hot prawns and chicken curry, worth every cent. Definitely a place visit if you wish to enjoy hearty spicy fish dishes. The staff were attentive and professional. Good on you guys.

Food and service great but they allowed a single male customer to sit near us and smoke, asked the waiter and he said it was non-smoking, but they let this guy carry on smoking, eventually us and another table moved. Not acceptable!

Decent food but decor could use a revamp and a freshened menu. Hopefully post Covid they can work on that when the feet come back.

Went there on 16 April 2021 with family, for a dinner reservation.We got seated at a table at the back and then forgotten about.After about 15minutes I got up and searched for the maitre D to arrange a waiter for us.After he gave us the menus, he disappeared.Again I had to leave the table and look for him.The maitre D tracked down our waiter to come take our order.The drinks came and then the meals came one by one. So we had to all sit there and keep talking until everyones meal arrived, so we could all start eating together. This took almost 20 minutes.I ordered a steak and requested medium. It arrived medium rare. And it was slathered in a horrible sweet tasting sauce.Who puts a sweet sauce on a steak? It tasted like pumpkin, which was not even mentioned on the menu and felt like my order had been messed up.After our meals were delivered, the waiter seemed to have left the country. A third time I had to try and find him as we required further service.I found him at the register with another waiter. They were eating leftover cake from somebodys meal.Perhaps Im mistaken but arent waiters not supposed to be eating whilst on active duty with tables they have to attend?Then when I wanted to settle the bill, he just dropped off the bill and disappeared. Did not ask me how I would be making payment. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I left the table a fourth time and eventually asked another waiter to assist me with settling.Over the years Id heard many accounts of how great Beira Alta was. Emphasis on was.If it was ever good, its now a shadow of its former self.Terrible experience, mediocre food, incompetent staff.

We always have good experiences here. Food, atmosphere, service from Nicholas was 5*. My only disappointment is that what used to be a 1kg portion of Prawns is now called a full portion so I assume its less than a kg for the same price.. Nonetheless, overall, lovely Sunday afternoon lunch.

Friendly service with nothing to complain about. Safe with sanitising and temperature readings at the door. Outside seating area which is great in these Covid times. Steak was prepared to perfection, tender and tasty!

Back to 5 from 3. Appreciate the manager talking the time to address the issues and took the feedback to heart and aimed to improve. Food still tastes great and service is top draw from starters to desserts. Even though its not the cheapest this service alone has won us back.

The ambiance and layout of the restaurant is great. Service is awesome. BUT, the food is terrible. We had the prawn and chicken curry, and the port steak and they were both bland, and lacked flavour. I was really unimpressed.
