My friend and I booked the Deluxe Facial Ritual and we were fortunate enough to get Save and Sarah as therapists at the spa.Probably one of the best treatments I have ever had. Massages were perfect and value for money with regards to this package is incredible. The service at both the reception and the restaurant was some of the best.Would highly recommend.Well done management and team of the spa.

Maintenance of the lodge has declined substantially since we were last here 4 years ago. Weeds growing in-between the paved areas. Cigarette butts left in the jacuzzi. Food was also not up to standard, instead of fresh pineapple, a large bowl of tinned pineapple was served at breakfast. The room was clean and the amenities provided were adequate, but again there were weeds around the outside shower and mould growing on the inside shower. Needs a lot more love and attention to warrant the 4- star rating

5 star prices, but 2 star service. Another hotel that suffers from being staffed by government employees. Reinforced my belief that self-catering is better

This place is my favourite staycation location. Whether its just a mid week break or a romantic dinner- I am always happy anf satisfied after a visit to Kloofzicht. Decided to go for breakfast yesterday and we ended up watching the rugby there as well. A great day out with a hearty buffet breakfast, mimosas flowing and nut platters in the bar. Kloofzicht is a short drive from Johannesburg & Pretoria.The grounds are lush and well maintained. The dams are large and dotted across the grounds.The rooms are large, semi detached thatch units with a small viewing deck to enjoy sundowners on.There is no mini bar and room service is by arrangement only.The day-spa was surprisingly nice.The treatments / packages are well priced and the therapists were excellent.Spa was better than average.Not bad for a couple’s weekend away. More “activities” on-site would be nice.Not much besides restaurant, room and spa.

Attended a wedding over the weekend. Firstly, struggled to reserve a room for the night for almost a week. I needed to phone back around 4 times over a time period of a week to confirm a booking. Upon attendance, we received a room in which the electricity box keeps tripping and making Sparks. The reception came to assist to light the fire but no light in the room could be switched of, no warm water and the cold tap on the bath didn’t work at all. Lots of calls later and a cold shower, we were moved from one room to another at 12 in the evening. The second room the door didn’t work to go out on the patio, the shower didn’t work and the bath kept leaking water. Only one rusk between two people, no body lotion in both rooms. We spoke to people numerous times. No refund offered and no apology received. Don’t waste hour monies to go there!

Beautiful, tranquil setting, adequate rooms, very friendly staff. Food was ok. Major issue was wi-fi. No signal in the rooms and terrible in the hotel centre. Very limited TV channels. If you good with all of that then this will work for you.

After our first year wedding anniversary celebration at Glenburn, Kloofzicht came highly rated as the next stay on our list. The executive suite was comfortable, beautifully situated and tranquil as could be.We found staff to be courteous and sensitive to our needs. The dining hall was wonderful for buffet breakfasts and fine dining dinners. However if the fine dining is not your style, Clearwater Mall is a mere 12minutes away to grab a quick meal or stock up on additional supplies.The grounds are well kept, pool was wonderful and as for the dams and wiers, again really clean and well maintained. In terms of on site activities, I found the hiking trail manageable, wildlife that we managed to see often throughout our stay roam freely included springbok, wildebeest, warthog and a plethora of bird species.Rooms are well equipped and cleaned to a good standard, outside shower a wonderful bonus and robes and slippers to compliment our stay. We would have liked a bigger menu option variety regarding dinner and the outside patio furniture in our suite could use a touch of love.All in all, a great stay for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary, big thanks to staff and management.

Having stayed here a few times in the past for corporate events I was just so shocked at how the room interiors have deteriorated. Shabby scratched furniture, dirty carpet. Deck furniture faded, uncomfortable and dirty. You can hear the people in the adjoining room talking. TV snowy. Aircon rattles, no wifi … the list goes on. The only reason for 2 stars is good fishing, great restaurant staff. Raise your game Kloofsicht. You used to be THE BEST … many other cheaper places in the Cradle that offer way better value for money … VERY sad state of affairs

We have been at Kloofzicht twice before in 2018, and it is beautiful and for sure one of our most special and memorable places. The service and rooms are excellent. We are visiting for the 3rd time at the end of May and we are looking forward to it very much.

This was one of the most amazing surprises to find. Where do I start? The staff greeted us with a smile, helped us getting around and with information. Someone always checks up on you to see that youve been helped. The room was spacious, clean with great amenities. The breakfast buffet was incredible. Rarely do you find buffets that stock a lot of food and it all tastes great. The only bad thing that happened which Im sure was a glitch based on the perfection of every other aspect was that out card didnt open our boom gate even after we got it programmed twice. But like I said, its probably was just a once off thing because everything else was just perfect.

Amazing food, wonderful staff that is friendly and courteous. The scenery is enough to make one pack up and move there permanently. Will definitely be returning for the spa and a longer stay.

Theres much more to enjoy at kloofzicht lodge and Spa. Fly fishing, hiking, helicopter rides, hot air balloon rides. Book to avoid disappointment.

My Husband and I had our wedding at Kloofzicht on Sunday 20th June...from the very first viewing before even selecting this venue as our preferred location to checking out the day after our wedding was the most unforgettable experience for both of us and each of our guests. Nikita, Chantell, Rodney, Jimmy, James, Thembeka and each and every other staff member that assisted us on our wedding day and thereafter were absolutely amazing in every way. Every little detail was on point, we had no complaints about a single item and Nikita literally took all our stress onto her own shoulders and delivered on every promise made. Chantell transformed our venue into such a magical one. My husband and I were extremely happy with the service offered by everyone and we are truly grateful and thankful to Kloofzicht and your staff. You really have such a beautiful place with extraordinary people representing you...Thank you so much for everything!

We had the most amazing weekend stay at Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa. The scenery and room was stunning, service was excellent and, the food at the restaurant was absolutely amazing.

Visited the spa for a full body massage and lunch with a friend. The massage therapist was friendly, professional and well skilled. The massage was heavenly. Facilities include a pool and jacuzzi. It was clean and well maintained. The landscape was breathtaking. The lunch was ok. Noodles was a bit sweet and the caprese sandwich that I had was passable. Cambert slices were a bit too thick. Confit linefish salad was delicious. I would recommend the spa facilities.

The price does not justify the the facilities or service.Rooms is neat and clean. However definitely not 5 star. Staff had no idea of our package. Nothing in the minibar. Only 2 bottles of water - we are 3 people. No information was shared on facilities, spa etc.I would pay half the price for this lodge. And emphasize that is not worth a 5 star rating.

Happy until I stared making comparisons to previous lodge/spa holidays.The spa staff was fantastic. They knew who I was and were very quick to make me feel welcome. The treatments were fantastic and the facilities were clean. The change rooms could use some maintenance and I would have appreciated receiving a robe more suited to my size and stature.My welcome at the hotel was pleasant. Although no attention was paid to the Covid-19 forms upon arrival which was concerning. My room was not ready which frustrated me as what is the point of providing a check-in time if you are not going to be ready.The room was nice although half heartedly cleaned which was disappointing especially during these times. The bath was amazing, the shower was pathetic with the water spraying in 20 different directions. The aircon sounded like a tractor but I had no choice as the fireplace refused to ignite correctly and it was chilly.The restaurants were a complete let down. My first lunch required 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge my existence followed by a further 15 minutes of me waiting for my cocktail. Sadly it was not worth the wait and probably one of the worst cocktails I have had in a while. The most attention the staff paid me was when I left and they came running after me to pay the bill.Sadly the poor restaurant experience continued at dinner where yet again I felt awkward being asked if I wanted a table for two. Despite my booking being for myself as a single independent man. I ordered another cocktail but this one had enough booze for three people. Although the food was fantastic the ambience was a let down with no music, and an overly loud group of guests which were quite clearly disturbing the rest. I honestly couldnt wait to eat my food and leave.Another disappointing issue was the fact that although my package included the spa, accommodation and all meals - I was constantly presented with a bill which I had to politely explain away as I am not paying twice.For the price I paid for this potentially beautiful and blissful experience I was very much disappointed. I was constantly thinking to myself - I shouldve just gone to the Indaba Hotel and Mowana Spa. Silly me for trying something new...

We recently had a family spoil with a night and sap at your report.The staff, food and views are spectacular; however, we were left very disappointed with the rooms.We were staying in room 27 and.*the rooms were not ready at 14.00 at check in time* the bathroom floor had a small river, I assume this was from the cleaning that was done from the turn over of guets from the night before however I never wanted to take my shoes off while in the room* the bath did not hold water but instead steadly seeped out until we had a puddle left*once I found a plug to charge my phone next to the bed , a necessity for I am sure majority of guests look for, it was behind the cabinet which clearly not been cleaned in months*in order to reach the plug I had to move the side table which promtply moved reveling that the table is broken with only the top moving*the towls seem to have had better days and not , what one would expect from a 5 star lodge.My parents were in room 28 and while I have not unpacked their room in any order as above I know they did not receive the lovely geture of valentines day bed make up, of feathers and sweets which had been done so nicley in the other rooms in which our party of guests were staying.

We would rate a 3 but because of the front desks managers attitude we will now rate a 1.We were here a year ago for our wedding night and were blown away by the place and that is why my hubby brought me back here this weekend for my birthday.Upon check in we noticed urine on the toilet seat...I wondered how can you miss something like that and clearly the place was not cleaned properly, so I inspected closer and the bathroom was not properly wiped down. We called the front desk and someone came to clean again...when we came back it was 90% better. These are covid times...you cant take things like this lightly.I was very uneasy and actually sanitized the room myself to protect my family.When checking out I mentioned to the manager our experience....she said that I should of called her to come and inspect herself and insinuated that I was lying. The room was not 5* standard cleaning standards, not even mentioning the other issues we had.....but the way the manager addressed the situation was sooo unprofessional and left our image of Kloofzicht absolutely tainted, a simple Im sorry is all it could have taken to avoid a bad review. The staff was lovely, but the manager was not professional and let her team down.There were many reasons why this place is not 5*... wifi does not work, you dont get taken to your room, no bottled water.... its a 4*, or actually I have had better 4* experiences.

Excellent accomodation! The place is a bit pricey, but totally worth it. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you try out their restaurant as well, cause their food is sublime! Rooms were very clean and they have a fantastic view of the mountainside. Would definitely come back for another visit.

We had an amazing breakfast buffet here today. We booked last minute and were treated well from the start. The staff are so friendly and professional. The lodge has a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view of mountains and dams, and the food was wonderful. Value for money, and a lovely spread of cold and hot food. A lovely treat! Best danish pastries Ive had in ages! You can also take a long walk through the grounds, beautiful.

I loved everything about this place!!

The spa treatments were spectacular. From the booking, the receptionist, the therapist, all outstanding! I wish Id stayed overnight to enjoy the cocktails without holding back.

Good; we stayed here recently for a weekend away in a Superior Suite. (We hadnt realised) the thermostat wasnt working when we arrived and it was in winter. After dinner we called and requested more blankets and had an early night, and I woke up at 3am shivering. I have never slept in a room so cold in my life. The next morning I took it up with management ready to cut our trip short and check out. They offered us a Deluxe Suite, and gave us a little surprise to make up for it. Credit to the manager who checked on us consistently to make sure we were alright. Overall the food was great, even though the desserts could have been better. Im sure we would have enjoyed it a bit more had it not been for the freezing first night.

First night into a 16th birthday party. Booked the Royal Suite. What a super amazing experience from the word go. Super friendly staff, jacuzzi, swimming pool, chef to braai, giraffe at your doorstep ... loved it. Cecelia is your contact person for personal touch and detail.

Its an amazing place of serenity. A Great escape from the bustling city. The air is rejuvenating and something about this place makes you feel closer to nature. The dam is soothing and the quiet is awakening. The wildlife, hills and natural surroundings make for great views.

Beautiful lodge and spa situated in the Cradle of Humankind. Fly fishing lessons and game drives form part of the wide variety of activities available at Kloofzicht. Spa facilities makes for a comfortable and relaxing stay and staff are knowledgeable and very professional.

We had a great stay at the Lodge. We also enjoyed excellent service from the restaurant manager, Mr. Jimmy Nkhoma at Oevermeer Bistro.

Kloofzichts petty pay for everything upfront attitude is incredibly off putting and completely ruined my experience. Whats the point to visiting a such a beautiful place when youre treated like a criminal the whole time youre there?Want to order food at the Bistro? You have to pay upfront before we put your order in. Want to get a drink at the bar? Pay upfront before we give you your drinks. Want to a glass of water? Sure, no wait, pay up front now! Only after a room service attendant arrived at our room after 21:00 in the evening with a card machine and I complained to the umpteenth time about their petty off-putting policy was informed that I could have spend a food and drinks tab at check-in.Why was I never given this option? I asked twice to see a manager to express my frustration with this incredibly off putting policy and the poor communication from staff but they never made arrangements to see me. I suppose they want to read about it here like everybody else.

We had to make a booking to eat overmeer bistro, and we decided to have pizza it but then discovered that you get a ready made base which is very not very nice, and its not the cheapest pizza.

Kloofzicht is set nicely in the cradle of humankind in Johannesburg. It has fly fishing and other activities like archery. Great chalets and function venues for corporate functions and weddings. The food is excellent and the menu selection and service is great.

Recently visited Kloofzicht for our annual breakaway at work. It is indeed a 5 star, from the outside to the inside & to the food. I loved every minute of my stay, definitely bringing my family when I can & comes highly recommended to people who love style and class with an opportunity to connect with nature. I also had the opportunity to use the Spa, steam room & jacuzzi. The staff is very friendly and ready to assist at any time you may need assistance. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are very clean. Killer views from all angles of the place. Unfortunately Wi-Fi is not available in the rooms, I strongly suggest they do something about that.

Beautiful, scenic lodge - we were there for the weekend and took long walks and plenty pictures. Wife really enjoyed the spa. The staff was warm and friendly from security, reception, restaurant and the spa. We got a nice big room facing one of the fly fishing lakes, which meant the room does get really cold in winter.

We arranged a 80th birthday celebration for my dad. The buffet was mediocre. When the guests only comment on the vegetable and not anything else ... worst if all no fuss was made of my dad and the staff didnt even bother to wish him or offerspecial llittle candle. The manager was not attentive and we were so disappointed

Great view and relaxed vibe

Its absolutely beautiful for accommodation and the spa. Only reason Im giving it a three star is because the wedding venue is very underwhelming. Its got so much potential to be an incredible wedding venue but the roof of the outside ceremony area is covered in cobwebs and the chairs are cheap looking plastic chairs with material covers. The reception area is not much better even though it could have an insanely beautiful view its all closed in and stuffy. Its not very modern either which somehow doesnt fit with how gorgeous the rest of the place is. I think a wedding venue revamp is in order. It could be one of the best. The price it offers now for weddings is not worth what is on offer however if it was revamped it would be totally worth it.
