We had Sunday lunch at Casalinga. It is recommended to make a reservation as it was quite full.Making our way on Beyers Naude Drive towards Muldersdrift, we had a pleasent 15 minute drive from Northriding taking a left turn with good signage. There is ample secure parking.Warm greeting at the entrance and shown to our table by bubbly waitor called Judge. Atmosphere was great and you could walk around and investigate what is on the property and surround.Sunday is a normal set menu at R350 per person consisting of table salad to share, great breads, starter, mains, desert and coffee or tea. However if this is too much food you could order just a main and you will be charged just for what you ordered. Customer orientated and fantastic service. No long wait for your food.Quality of food was fantastic with great flavours.There is a great play area for kids, jumping castle, trampoline, etc.Overall, great atmosphere, fantastic food and great service. Will visit the restaurant again.

The food and hospitality was excellent. The waiters went out of their way to make your required request a reality. The required sanitising and temperature checks where ahead to, to make one feel safe. Thanks to the staff that made our stay pleasant and comfortable.

Has dropped a little in food quality & service since covid reopening. Concept of food coming from organic farm onsite is something that can shoot for the stars if they can keep quality up whilst still serving such large sittings. Venue is still just magic.

It was our first visit to Casalinga. Calamari, seafood pizza and gelato was amazing. Gnocchi was quite disappointing. Overall setting and service was wonderful. Ill definitely be back.

Very poor service. Food was below par. Lamb shank was off. Pasta was tasteless. Food took too long to come. A sad indictment of restaurant that was once great.Surely the owners can fix up the potholes on their road.Overall a bad experience

This is not the Casalinga I know. Limited menu, choice if 2 red wines and served what I think was supposed to be bread - tasted aweful. They will not see me again.

Actually i went for a picnic there.There is a take away section in the delly. Not everything is available. I could not order the fish.Food was good and the open space excellent. You can picnic with your dogs.Bring everything as you would for a normsl picnic. Plates etc

I have always loved this restaurant to bits. It is my favorite in the whole world. They however need to learn who their good clients are and treat them properly. They forget on occasion to treat people with respect and reward loyalty

Ive changed my mind since my last visit. The food was mediocre, the service the same. Yes the venue and the ambiance are still special but one of Johannesburgs top restaurants Im not so sure. My pet hate, put your fork down and theyre whipping your plate away you arent given the chance to enjoy the atmosphere. They want you gone so they can go to bed.

Birthday lunch. Superb space, service and food. Will repeat as a birthday treat again this year. Line fish was expertly prepared and fresh, risotto was lush, yet light and fragrant.

Beautiful interior, great coffee and sweets, and a good wine selection. The food is always delicious. However, the service is rather confusing. Lots of waitstaff but it can take a long time for anything to be brought to the table. One experience was particularly disappointing as our waitress was rude. Otherwise, an enjoyable place with lots of green space around it. I really hope they improve their service and/or take some time to train their waitstaff, as that is the only missing piece to make this a fantastic place.

Pizza i had there an unmitigated disaster. 6 slices of salami cut in half to appear many. Soggy, blob of flour, cheese and oil. Never again

Always great food and excellent service, perfect for a romantic dinner or birthday celebration with family and friends. They have an excellent wine and whisky selection. Booking is normally essential.

Casalinga is a beautiful venue and a lovely restaurant with very friendly staff. The food is delicious, however it would be nice if they had one or two more vegetarian options as the lasagna isnt the best.
