I purchased a lovely wall clock from Bertrand at his business called Time Machine on Thesen Island in Knysna.Wonderful service and I can recommend his business.
They fixed a very old clock for my wife. Changed from plugging it into the wall in to battery operated. Just incredible service.
I have a Rolex bubble back from 1946, over the years the axis of the selfwinding rotor had broken. On a visit to Knysna, I discovered the Time Machine store more by accident. There I talked to Bertrand, a nice, very competent old school watchmaker. One feels immediately that he loves his job. I asked him to repair the watch because I had full confidence in him from the first moment. The repair took 6 weeks and he sent me the watch to Cape Town. My bubble back looks like new. The glass has been replaced and the watch is in perfect condition again. If someone has a broken watch that is close to his heart, he is at the right place at Bertrand. I can recommend Time Machine 100%.
Decent workmanship- but after a year of owing me a fair amount of money and keeping a number of my clocks- I have had to seek legal assistance.Be VERY careful when doing business with this shop. Make sure you have written confirmation when asking them to sell ANY of your clocks/watches and a repayment plan if they sell your clock.I am sure there is a proverb about not being wooed by a snake with an accent.*Edit to post*I have since taken them to court and only received money after the sherif went in to remove goods to the value of what was owed to me.
Great experience
Great shop and lots of knowledge
