We took the short but scenic drive from Knysna to Totties again today and were not disappointed. Pleasantly surprised in fact.Covid -19 precautions in place.It was a grey, overcast day but we opted to sit outside where it was sheltered.Pleasant staff.The iced coffee was rich, creamy and delicious.We both opted for the lamb curry. It was a HUGE portion (I ate an adequate sufficiency and still took some away). Served with rice. Perfectly cooked. Dessicated coconut, delicious homemade chutney and chopped tomato and onion.A cute side salad in a metal mug. Beautifully presented and very fresh and tasty.The diners behind opted for the hamburgers that also looked massive and I heard them comment that it was the best hamburger they had ever tasted.Inside were humongous home made cakes that looked very decadent and fresh. Also various pieces of antique crockery for sale.Well worth a visit.

Good food and value for money , there is alot of history! ALOT of tables to choose from with different sceneries . Great place for couples with kids . There is a huge play area . Its very vintage .

Old world charm not far from Rheenendal. Photos do not do it justice. Calm and serene environment taking you back in time, old crockery and Oumas crochet lappies on the table add to the nostalgia. I would have given it 5 stars if the waiter gave me better service. Large portions seems to be the norm.I would highly recommend

As always, another treat of a lunch out at Totties. We sat in the tranquil outdoors where the food was not only delicious but a feast for the eyes. Generous portions at very reasonable prices. Worth the wait, a lovely experience.

First time we attended the R200pp buffet. It was really full and abuzz with waiters and patrons, we were a little unsure how things worked. Waiter was also seemed new or inexperienced. Other than that , the array of dishes that were on offer were amazing. Not the normal meat and veg. I loved the brinjal rissoles, poached pear, the Moroccan flavored pumpkin, salads aplenty. The roast beef was so tender. Enjoyed everything. Even a vegetarian could have indulged themselves thoroughly.

A hidden gem in the middle of the Seven Passes Road that is a must visit for everyone passing by this area. Great quality food, fairly big portions and a truly enchanted atmosphere. Definitely recommended!!

What an amazing surprise of a place this is. Eclectic, antique feel with fantastic ambience. The veal pie was absolutely wonderful and the service was excellent. If you love to go off the beaten track youll love this restaurant. Sit back, relax, appreciate the decor and saviour home made food!

Options of healthy soup and salads, as well as indulgent warm treats, my fave was the pumpkin bake.Eating my food off the lovely vintage crockery made it even more enjoyable!Attentive and kind staff.Highly recommend for families and any travelers passing through Knysna!

I highly recommend the Sunday buffet!! The foods are original and delicious. The style is admirable and the place is well kept and staff are friendly. Live music adds to the lovely atmosphere. This will definitely be at the top of my list when visiting Knysna.

Wow, what an amazing surprise to find this gem in the middle of nowhere. Situated in the most beautiful countryside of Rheenendal. Its astonishing to see all the effort that was done to make this restaurant absolutely fabulous. The garden areas are totally beautiful and the dinning area is really something to see. Each table are unique with ample seating. There are little nooks everywhere to give you privacy and the feeling of eating in nature. The childrens playground is well looked after and enough space for lots of children. The food is what we will expect from a 5 🌟 restaurant! The only difference is that it is very affordable. They have a great variety of dishes and deserts. The staff is very professional and you will feel most welcome from the moment you entry through the gates. I highly recommend Totties! The legacy lives on! The also roast their own Arabica Coffee ☕

Love, love Totties! Stopped for breakfast and really enjoyed my omelette. Be sure to ask for their homemade bread with jam, its delicious! The staff are wonderful too and the decor rustic. Will definitely return 👌🏻

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a restaurant. We waited at the door and had to ask to be seated. The staff has an attitude which conveys the feeling of not wanting to serve you. After being seated we ordered drinks, after the 30 min wait for our four drinks, my double thick milkshake was just ice cream in a glass with flavoring poured over it, I ended up eating it with a spoon. From there on we didnt see our waiter for the next 40-50 min after which I went looking for him to inquire about the status of our food. After another 30 min wait our food was still not served. After making quite the scene and expressing my unhappiness, our food was rushed to our tables within 5 min but even then only half of the table was served. The other half received their food another 10 min later. And even after all of the above, I stayed because I was awaiting their amazing promised food. When my chicken pie arrived it was merely chicken chunks floating in a watery sauce with a piece of backed dough on top. The chicken had absolutely zero...ZERO flavor or any hint of any seasoning, it was entirely bland and tasted awful. The gravy provided, which I had hoped would improve the taste of the chicken, tasted even worse. I was unable to eat more than a few bites after which I began to feel sick. No one at our table was able to finish their food as it was close to uneatable. Neither the staff nor any manager seemed to care about the horrendous service and food we were served. The nostalgic decor is not enough to overshadow the terrible service and food and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY PERSON IN THEIR RIGHT MIND TO DRIVE OUT TO THIS RESTAURANT IN ORDER TO RUIN YOUR ENTIRE MEAL/DAY. No food but a chicken wrap on the menu. Always closed, think absolutely nothing of their employees. I will no longer be supporting this place, and hope nobody else does.

Some of the best food I have ever eaten!! It is country style food home made in a great farm kitchen. The portions are very generous and for the price its a steal.

Beautiful place with a pond fill of huge koi. The best value and quality food in Knysna. I wish there was one in Cape Town.

We intended on going out for a quick family brunch and wanted to try Totties.We arrived at 11:45 and hovered around the entrance until someone eventually helped us. We were seated and waited patiently to be helped but eventually had to call for someone to take our order. A waitress came to us in a panic, gave me her note book and said please write down your order as we are short staffed and I will come get it from you. At this point we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant. 12pm hit and there was an influx of people, I quickly took everyones drinks, meals and dessert orders and waited for the waitress to come back. We waited 1 hour before our drinks came and were only served once we went to the kitchen to find out where they were. An hour and 40minites before we got out food and by that time majority of the restaurant had eaten. Once the tables started to clear we were left still waiting for our dessert and eventually left withouth having it - quick brunch turned into a 3 hour wait.Appalling service, the food was not worth the wait.

Really quiet and nice place away from the noise and crowds. Quite slow and chilled but that is what you expect in this area :) Beware of portion sizes - they are large!

We visited Totties on Sunday looking so forward to it. We took friends with us for their first visit. We arrived at 12.15 and waited for service when we finally had to call a waitress she took our order after waiting till 2.15 and having to ask 3 times we eventually got our lunch. The food was up to their normal standard good. But the service was really bad. I asked for a take home of what I could not finish and never got that. Really need to make sure your staff is up to standard as we love your venue and support it with our car and bike clubs

One of the hidden gems of South Africa. Ample seating inside and outside with spectacular garden views. The decor is classy yet rustic. The food is amazing and they make a burger to die for!

Had an exceptional meal at Totties today. The food was authentic South African, without being stuck in the past. Absolutely delicious and I never thought I would say this about a buffet! The venue is interesting, welcoming and tranquil. The service was friendly and the owner was charming and took time with all she met. Highly recommended!

This place brings back so many childhood memories! The food and atmosphere makes you reminisce about your grandmothers house and food! We loved the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The wait for the food may be a bit long for someone that wants to just pop in and pop out, but it is worth adding extra time into your travel plans to spend here for a lunch. The food is made fresh and the serving sizes are generous. They have quite a large variety of vegetarian options as well. We will definitely be back in future!

We went there for the Sunday buffet.Lovely setting, and the staff are so friendly.I found the menu cheap. Will definitely be back in the future.If you eat of the menu, then you have to try the Bacon Chicken and Pineapple sandwich. Its a doorstopper.....

Great family buffet venue. This is an old farm house (ca. 1926) thats remained in the family of Florence van Rheenen and has been converted into a homely restaurant. The food is delicious traditional South African fare. Just like grandmas kitchen!

Historic, chic, family orientated and very relaxed, this farm kitchen serves amazing homemade bakes and great food. There is an outdoor play area with a jungle gym and trees to climb. Good service and clean, friendly staff make it the only choice in this area.

Amazing place, old school feel, vintage look. The doylies took me back to when my late grandmother was still alive. Food is worth the price, value for money. I would travel to the place from here in Cape Town any day if I could.

Always nice to stop here. They have a great menu, staff is friendly and if you do not have a big appetite, I suggest sharing your meal. We had the chicken pie and stuffed aubergine/pepper vegetarian dish. We opted for those to dishes as we were pecky but not ravenous. It is more than enough to satify a very hungry person.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with my family at Totties, which is a cosy restaurant tastefully decorated in a retro eclectic style. My sister and I are vegetarians and we were spoit for choice with the many different dishes. My brother in law said the meat dishes were outstanding too. Ill certainly return on my next trip to South Africa.

Just finished Christmas lunch what a pleasure the food was really great. A very big variety so much i couldnt even get to my dessert. The owner as busy as she was even made time to come to each table and wish all her customers a very merry Christmas. Definitely will visit totties for many more meals when we in the area again

From the road it doesnt look like much inside its a great place for a Sunday lunch buffet. Food was good and a fair variety. Worth a visit just to see the quaintness of the structure! Live music on Sundays and a very quaint koi pond. Kiddies playground around the back. Prices are fair and credit cards are accepted.

Very slow service. Had to ask 3 times to come clean up on table where waitress messed milkshake... Rustic look is not kept or maintained in good order - looks very run down. Very disappointed in our overall experience.

About 80% of the dishes on the menu were not available. We waited more than 2 hours for our food which was less than mediocre but by that time hunger was the best chef. The restaurant was not full so there wasnt really a reason for this disaster. Really a huge disappointment. 🙁
