Firstly let me say that i love the fact that there is ample off-road parking. However this needs to be highlighted by helpful signage for passing motorists and especially visitors to the town. My overall experience of Checkers is quite disappointing and many times shocking. Cashiers are slow and inefficient and till packers couldnt care less about packing groceries carefully. Whatever happened to customer service and that the customer comes first !! The store is generally grotty and needs a good cleanup. I have even found cockroaches on the shelf where the rusks and biscuits are kept. Service and advice is non-existent in the fresh food market. Staff barely know the variety of vegetables or where they are kept. Shelf packers are half asleep sitting on crates in the isles and couldnt care less about helping customers. Their knowledge of where to find products are non-existent and it becomes much easier just to navigate the isles myself. An overall disappointing, frustrating and shocking experience. Staff are far more interested in having their own group social interactions so will definitely not be going back to this shop despite the specials on products they have advertised. It just isnt worth my sanity and time !!

It always smells bad,very bad. There are alot of products that other stores have that this one doesnt. We prefer Plettenberg Bay Checkers so we rather go there.

The smell is so revolting that the health and sanitisation authorities should be alerted. I got halfway down the stairs from the parking garage and the smell was so disgusting that I turned and left. There is something seriously wrong with this store and it should be closed immediately for public health and safety.

Horrible putrid smell. Where are the health inspectors??? I wouldnt return.

Checkers Knysna is a very good shop. The shelves are properly stocked. The food they cook in house is always fresh. The daily soup is especially delicious. My only complaint is that there arent enough people at the tellers to assist the customers and the wait is generally a bit long. Otherwise an all-around good shopping experience.

Terrible smell !! Close it down, fix the smell first.

If it was up to me this shop will not even get a star you time that you advertise is to 6pm Sundays , when I ask to speak to a manager witch is never ever present noting happens . I dont stay in town and have to drive in when I got there they where closing the doors and only then putting the signs on that they doing stock take on a SUNDAY the 13/9/2020 ,the way that your security speaks to your customer is appallingI then phoned in 3 times and every time I was given the run around and guess whatI still did not speak to a managerYou would think with all the businesses closing all over the place you would do every thing to keep you customer , put a sign bigger than a a4 page up at lease a poster size a few days before handPick a pay has gotten me a as a customer I dont care if you give tock away your service is shocking my be learn from the checkers in plett

Wide variety of products on offer however staff ought to be friendlier especially cashiers and merchandisers, store could do with a thorough clean up.

The shop ok but the peolpe at the tills very unfriendly. The lady in coffee shop seem to be untrained. Gave me coffee with milk that I never asked for. She never offer us sugar we had to ask for it. Sorry for the critics but I feel you should be informed to be able to rectify it. I hope you see it as positive critisim.

Checkers stores on the whole always gives a good shopping experience especially the fast c check out till points. The day we happened to shop here, they were busy moving shelves and it was a bit chaotic but I found my way around and got what I needed

Its awesome place to do ur shopping. The cashiers and supervisors is very friendly to all there customers. I luv to shop there.

Was there after 5pm on 28/9. Veg section disgusting, staff less than interested. Stood in queue for 15min while staff checked prices of products that were unmarked, for a customer in front of me. No apology or explanation. Poor. Not how I remember this store.

Good food. A bit more expensive than comparable outlets. Parking is a challenge.

Terrible experience. Staff unfriendly, not at their posts. Had to wait several minutes before someone pitched up to help me at the butchery, had to wait exceptionally long at the till for a manager helping the customer ahead of me and then once my turn the lady excused herself so that the next cashier could clock in after she saw how long I had to wait and had already unpacked all my groceries. No one was after me she could have first helped me making me wait so long. She could have rather stopped me from unpacking all my groceries knowing what she knew. There is just no customer service. Train your staff to know how to treat people!

Oky prices, it has a relatively new setup within the shop.Freindly cashiers and management are proactive.Good for Quick shipping, but try to go to this shop earlier when it is Black Friday, this place is massively busy because of the Customer service you receive.Security is oky and can be improved.

Best grocery store in Knysna and the liquor shop has the best prices!
