This museum exhibit a lot of important information, the way the exhibition is curated is thought through and it makes sense. I think the inclusion of scan the qr code to get information about each exhibit is stunning. It was also great to have a guide, Prof Morris to inform us about the different exhibits.
Beautiful but was closed during my visit.
Nice visit. Impressive building. Building and especially gardens however need some revamping.
This is a wonderful Museum Rich in history , it has a very dedicated Curator and staff who are willing to help in any way. The quality of all of the exhibits are very good amd very well laid out. The place is much bigger once you are inside and if you are a history and war enthusiast you could easily be there for the better part of the day. The rates are very reasonable and they have an extremely old, beautiful and rare book collection which I spent some time just admiring .I will definately come here again .
Have to say when you travel Vis KIMBERLY make a stop here most interesting meuseum and alot of detail on most things youll see in this meuseum,we started around 10 the morning and only walked out that afternoon after 3.Thats now if you really into meuseums history about South Africa youll find here is the best to look at.since they describe everything in Such a layoutO yeah one more thing when you there make sure to go and visit the gallery....just ask at Reception where the photo gallery is they would be much kind to help all the staff is friendly and you can eat there to. Recommended is the Mushroom burger youll see what I mean 💯👍Enjoy !!
I admire the level of history this museum has. And informative.
The website (and map you receive when entering) displays closing time is 17:00. We were told by the ticket sales lady they are closing 15:30. We still paid full price and had 40 min to walk around.Children were running around, jumping of stairs, screaming etc etc.Staff could not care less. What a waste.
Lovely place, bursting at the seams with history but the receptionist is rude, unprofessional and combative. If you can get past her attitude, youre in for a treat.
Loved this museum. Nature, archeology, politics, local history and a bit of national amd internatiinal history thrown into the mix. Excellent dioramas.
Lovely place
Large and varied number of exhibits. Showing some wear and tear but some nice interesting pieces.
Was closed the saturday I visited.I cannot rate it due to no info.
Well layed out with some interesting info
The building is beautiful, however it is not well maintained and the grounds have been neglected. The exhibits are reasonable.
What a treasure. The museum building itself is so imposing and a testimony to the wealth of Rhodes and the mineral mining industry. It houses an incredible collection of life in and around Kimberley as well as outstanding exhibits of many aspects of SA history. It is quite unique in its coverage of Kimberley people and events. Dont miss it!
Kimberly getting old and little maintenance.
Its a museum that has a lot to offer. Both architecturally and historically. The staff are very enthusiastic and helpful. A must visit
Very enlightening and quite a surprise to find. Beautiful old building. Needs more support.
Very interesting to learn about the history of Kimberley and the firsts that was in Kimberley.
The museum is rich in history which is well presented. I enjoyed reading about the rich history of Kimberly and its former leaders.
The museum is beautiful. The gentleman at the front is kind and eager to help if youre lost in any part of the museum or would like extra information. Great, well preserved exhibits. Theres a small fee to pay but its worth it. Family and school friendly.
It is one of the most historical places in Kimberley. Good displays and great staff.
The resone why I gave a one star is that the grass has not been cut, the gardens looks terrible. Sorry to say, presentation is everything.
Very friendly staff, loved learning more about the history of Kimberley here!
Very rich history
I definitely recommend a visit to the McGregor Museum. Tge exhibition of wild animals and the sounds that fills the place is an experience I hope everyone visiting Kimberley and asking what is there to see and do, to know of. Highly educational and a maut for scholars to visit.
Well worth visiting. Impressive building. Lots of military history relating to WW I and the siege of Kimberley. Some of the exhibits are in need of repair. Museum deserves to receive more visitors.
The museum would have been a nice addition for our kids to our visit through Kimberley. History is important but the lack of card facilities was a bit to historic for me. Add to that rude employees with bad attitudes failing to adhere to the advertised closing times had us turning at the door.
Wow. Well worth the visit. Thank you Bafana for the tour filled with information and going out of your way to arrange tours of the houses. Robert was great. Full of knowledge of the past. Thank you both. Thouroly enjoyed the day
Wanted to go there when I was in kimberley on Monday , but unfortunately it was closed due to protest action. unfortunately I couldnt go on the guided tour to Rudd House 😔
Beautiful and spooky, calming but dreadfulled atmosphere of a dozen ghost of those who died there in the past, plus the nurse doll thing keeps moving from place to place, please ghost hunters film there!!
Its very interesting, very good place to visit with family.
I did not hate the place.. The place has so many potential and so many history
Super nice, with a nice walk to the art museum, its kept nice and clean

So much history contained in a single building. Definitely going back to spend more time going through everything.
Its an amazing museum with such great history and alot of history aswell
Kimberlys best kept secret!
Its is such a well kept museum you should do the effort to vissit
Displays old and outdated. Gardens outside also need attention. Was really disappointed after visit.
Definite visit required if u a history buff, exhibitions worthy of 5 stars. Major asset to Kimberley and SA history
Loads of historical displays extremely well presented. Cecil Rhodes stayed here during the siege of Kimberley.
Lots of history and interesting information!
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere with great food and great service.

Where cultural and natural history of the Northern Cape is preserved.
Awesome place! World-class art museum
Beautiful building and interesting (if somewhat dated) exhibits.
Loved it..quite enriching history
Very clean, neat and informative with friendly staff.
Very interesting and lots of information on South Africa history.
Interactive exhibits. Great for kids.
Interesting displays, although the night animals display was mostly not working (just 2 lights and no sounds). God Northern Cape history, but for what is there the admission is quite expensive.
Very beautiful place, was there for a wedding. peaceful setting
Best history ever helped me pass my exam
Just okay. Nothing amazing
The museum had its own atmosphere of being part of history it self. There is a lot to experience in Kimberley and this museum is definitely one the places to visit apart from the Big Hole.
I like the museum as its one of the few youll find a lot of info and sculptures long forgotten!
