Such a lovely bar/ restaurant inside the village of The Big Hole. Live entertainment on weekends. The menu is affordable as well as the drinks. Jalapeno poppers is the best! It is wrapped in bacon...super yummy!

Great spot for friend and family. A nice way to complete the Big Hole experience. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. The play area is small but the kids still had great fun. 💞

Wow. Kimberley people are so.amazing..The food is divine🙌👌I got to sing on stage with TeeKay and the audience was wowed. I had to take my daughter back there again to celebrate her birthday.

I had a delicious Butter Chicken Curry here! The vibe is great, there were various bands playing live music while we dined and they could make me a Ginger Square drink / cocktail 🍸 They also have good craft beers on tap. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant/ bar when in Kimberley.

Went for lunch and supper at the Ox bar when visiting the Big Hole. There food is absolutely delicious and their prices are all very reasonable. They had Stuart Miles performing live that night which was really entertaining and gave an amazing atmosphere to the restraunt.

I had the pork belly which everybody said was a must have at the Occidental bar. The pork belly was not spiced at all. It was cooked up in water till soft and the crackling was grilled with a handful of salt. There were still some short hairs sticking out of the skin. It was dry and tasteless. Possibly the worst Ive ever had.Maybe once upon a time it was their signature dish.At least according to my guest, the spare ribs was very soft and delicious.

Normally take the eisbein but today it was dry. We were a group of about 20 and 7 people ordered eisbeins and they were all dry. Its normally succulent and juicy

Love this place when visiting on business. Food is good, music good, beer good. Some nights there is live music, other times its quiet and chilled. Set in the open air museum.

It can be costly but it has a great atmosphere, delicious filling food and friendly staff. I have been there more than once and Im definitely going to go there before the end of the year when I am home.

Extremely poor and slow service. Over an hour and a half for dinner.2 dishes cold, 1 baked under the pass and the salad was a measly thinly sliced lettuce and cucumber, not even a tomato in site.Honestly try anywhere other than here if you want an enjoyable meal.

I love the old time atmosphere and community feeling. Their prices are unjust since they are 15-25% more expensive than their counterparts, but that is the price the locals need to pay for drinking at a tourist attraction. A definite drinking spot when you are in Kkmberley.

Quaint bar and restaurant in the old village complex at the big hole. Food was tasty but not exceptional, service was adequately friendly. Access is confusing at night if you dont know the area as you must enter the big hole premises and access through a subway from the parking lot.

We had such a cool time here. Loved the live music and great food. So cool to be in a pub where the old diggers, founders and explorers went. Its as if the Occidental was placed in a time machine and transported to our time with all the advantages of our curent trending pubs. Great selection of craft beer and really flavour packed fresh produced food. Amazing that such a place is in Kimberley!

We Were stopped at the entrance to be informed no space while it was not busy at 18h00. It seems as if they dont want business. And they did not prepare when there is a night market to accommodate more customers. I am so disgusted. ☹

Fantastic.This restaurant blends in effortlessly with the historic mining town, and not only manages to take you on a small trip back in time, but also easily offers some of the best meals in town. Great steak, great burgers and great pork belly. On Sundays they also have great specials, so be sure to try it out.

The menu reads awesome but unfortunately the service and the food does not match. We waited for over an hour for our food and our order was still wrong. I wont be back.

I like the quiet atmosphere without being boring. I think the decor is late 19th century which creates a special and interesting ambiance. Try their pork belly or chicken curry. Both are delicious.
