My little was admitted on Monday night into the Paeds Ward 9, discharged today. I honestly can say, what excellent excellent service. From the Admissions, the Cleaners, Housekeeping Staff, the Nursing staff, I really honestly and truly cant complain. Thank you for making our stay pleasant and completely stress free.

Unfortunately i cannot give 0 stars. Very unprofessional, unhelpful, useless. I have been admitted to Arwyp couple of times before and no problems. Same can not be said when my 9 year old child was admitted to ward 9. Pediatric ward. No one attends to alarms going of all night. No one cares about the mothers staying with there kids. Absolutely disgusted. Kids vomiting not attended to.

NO STARS!! The service here is shocking to say the least! I would like to express my dissatisfaction in detail but it would take a few pages. In summary, there are hundreds of staff in the wards (definitely not understaffed) but no-one does anything and there is no communication whatsoever. Staff do not tend to the patients and they are left to their own devices. Drs/Specialists have to come looking for their patients because they are late for theatre! The hospital gowns/pants and bedding is threadbare and torn. It does not help having a lovely ground floor reception, coffee shop and a great Admissions department with the latest technology and absolutely horrendous or no service! I am surprised people still go there. They will never see us again even if it is the last hospital on earth.

On the 25th May I took my son to casualty at 9pm and we got back home at 12:30am because of the poor service when opening the file. Casualty staff take their time to assist and when they ultimately do you have to wait for the blood results and by the time you get to the prescription and are allowed to go home its the next day. I wouldnt recommend ARWYP to anyone, they need to work on service and professionalism.

Terrible experience on the 18th April 2021. My nephew was very sick having breathing issues and he is 1 year and a month old. They were lazy and unprofessional. They couldnt admit the child yet the medical aid allows the allows the child to admitted. They sent us away. Then we went to Sunward Park. There we were helped then we got a referral letter back to Arwyp. When got there the stuff continued to be rude and unprofessional. They dont even show humanity and apologize for their mistakes.

Day staff thank you..... Sister Queen, Thato and Raquel....They helped me up until I came back from the theater and I found horrible sisters.... Monsters at night.... Wow when I was in pain, calling for help one sister came a short sister, and I told her to please help I was in pain.... The feedback I got from her was that they havent received a script from the Dr yet and she does that while walking away. A few minutes later I tried to call for help via other patients because when I checked my bell it was far, I had to ask the other patient to call the nurse for me because she was the one concerned about the my pain. There comes a nurse short nurse again not wanting to hear what I was saying, the short n dark nurse said I told the other nurses mam they will attend to you.... I pleaded with her to atleast listen to me, because I needed toilet and I was very pressed, I could hear them talking on the passage and giggling while short one was busy discharging other patients not wanting to know my struggle. After a few minutes Nozi comes with a horrible attitude and says mmmm... I said sister can you help me please Ive been calling for help n no one is willing to help me, she said wat do u want.... I told her I was in pain, if the Doctor hasnt sent the script cant they calling him coz I was dying with pain, I also asked her to help me to the toilet because Ive been pressed and its causing much pain.... She said In Zulu that you see how big you are I cant carry you otherwise if you fall I will not take responsibility because you yourself know that you are dizzy. I told her cant she give me a potty or something to help myself, she pushed the trolley my that had food, to the other side. I cried because of pain and that ladys treatment.... She brings the bed pad and puts it on the bed, she showed me with her eyes, and said in Zulu still there you go... I said sesi, I really dont have strength please help me, she said like I Said I wont carry you, then I held the side of the bed with one arm trying to lift myself up.... I tried until I felt like I was in then she left,😭😭..... While I was still asking them help me with painkillers, I overhear the other nurse saying Ah Dr is not picking up.... Maybe hes busy n we cant give anything before the Dr gives an order..... Nozi then brought something I can use to vomit in as I asked for it..... The other lady that was helping the kitchen lady ran with ice n told me eat this mama when you feel like vomiting.... Thank you for your help..... The vomit kept on coming, as I was vomiting because apparently I was forcing since I was making noise, the sister for medication comes and says Dr said we must not give you anything, they gave you too much in theater, then she walks and says why are you forcing that vomit, do you want to vomit your intestines as well her name is: Aluwane.... 😳😳😳😳😥 I said God Im paying for this services for such rubbish.... She would come n give me medication without explaining until I asked.... If I was okay to walk the same night I would have gone home. I had to call my husband to come and pick me up at 6am because I couldnt stand those people 😭😡....Arwyp Medical Center I dont know where you got those night nurses but trust me if they are doing this for money, they dont deserve to be there and to serve people.. later when I was looking for food, it was nowhere to be found, because Nozi decided to push my table to an empty bed. The lady that helps the one thats working in the kitchen said we took the food thinking its for the other patient.... I ordered that before thats what I wanted to eat, then Nosi calls or went to the kitchen to find me some left overs that looked like they were from someones plate... I didnt eat I just waited for the morning tea to ask for rusks.....

They are all such nice and friendly people and really treated us amazing. The were all so helpful and nothing was an issue or to much for them. I have just experienced the most harrowing time trying to admit my husband who had broken his bones in a bike accident. We arrived at 4pm and admission took very long. When it became apparent that our medical aid was suspended I was told I need to pay in full (90k) to which I had to agree to as I had no choice it being Sunday and Discovery only available on Tuesday. I then said I would need to use their computer to do an EFT to which they said ok. I then signed enough surety documents to buy a house and waited for the invoice. 2 hours later it came at 170k. Horrified I asked the supervisor how this nearly doubled and she very flippantly said that it was only an estimate. With my husband in so much pain I needed to get this done so I asked which computer I could use to make the payment to be told oh, no we dont have internet at allOnce again I got someone to help me out to make the payment but realised that the daily limit for payments was R150000,00. I beseeched them to please accept the 150k as the operation would not take place before Tuesday and by then I would have resolved the medical aid. I was met with a shrug so again made a plan, only to be told afterwards by the supervisor Ayanda that I must pay the shortfall on Tuesday. By then we had already mailed both POPs. On looking at the quote I noticed a prosthesis for 50k which surely could have been removed until it was decided exactly what was to be done. The surly attitude of the admission nurses is only enhanced by the very arrogant Ayanda. We nearly left as this was beyond frustrating but under the circumstances needed their help. Eventually 2 and a half hours since arriving he was taken to the ward.I realise our medical sector is under immense pressure due to Covid but the lack of empathy toward a man in such pain and myself reeling from shock is not acceptable.

Due to all the paper work and God knows what other reasons she was admitted at 10pm last night. She is a 1 year old and so her bones are fragile, meaning that some complications occurred within the bones of her foot and therefore she needs to go in surgery. The doctor stated that she isnt aloud to eat until they begin with the surgery at 10am.It is now almost 2pm and the doctor still hasnt shown up and keeps delaying the surgery. My niece is very hungry, out of energy and frustrated. This hospitals inconsistency is taking a toll on my nieces health which is pretty ironic seeing how this center is built for treating and improving ones health.Im very disappointed.

Had one of the best Neurosurgery wards on 4th floor with dedicated theaters and ICU. Staff are dependent on mood as to how friendly they want to be. Must admit though, from the humble stages of 1998 to today, the board have increased space occupation, wards have all been well reconstructed to an almost semi-private environment compared to before when it was 6 per room with no tv. Outside has been remodeled a few times to keep with the trends. Today, one of the best in Gauteng itself. First ISO hospital accreditation in Africa and have done on of the successful 16hr non-stop surgery (tag team surgery) to separate conjoined twins from the head. Just need to beef up security on the outer section of the building. More space coming I have heard ;) Been in and out of this hospital and theatres well over 23 times over my life span to date.

After 3 days it was to late ICU Dr gave the awful news it was shocking. The nurses say he called out to my mother all night on 2nd night. We were not informed even by a simple call, to find out the next day. He was dying. My father had to wait almost 8 hours for his op. as an elderly man. On a visit I observed how the ICU nurse treated him and hurting him. As the day s went on they added more and instruments and more and more drugs to no avail his soul was gone, I could see this. I expressed to Dr and Matron he is dying! The undertaker said they have never seen so many holes and blood on a deceased and had to clean him for burial . This traumatised me on hearing this. My poor father,it was hell before dying.ICU waiting room was like a play ground and very noisy. No control . I will not return to this hospital ever. There was no respect for the ICU patience. A patient next to my father sat waiting for a glass water in ICU. I assisted him and he was a stranger to me. No compassion. Poor show. Arwyp.
