Waited 15 minutes to be seated and its not even packed, when I was finally seated I was basically left to fend for myself needless to say I left.

Unless youre drunk or looking to get drunk avoid this News Cafe. Food is blend, your rice cakes are far more seasoned - I can assure you. The waiters are practically part of the furniture, they completely ignore customers and blame it on shift change, maybe improve the shift handover system? Also the music is unbearably loud and they refuse to lower the volume even with all customers expressing disapproval - who are they satisfying?Avoid!

Went during happy hour. They make delicious cocktails, great place if you want to dance. adequate service

The food is nice, priced reasonably too but its their drinks that stand out for me. From the bar to the table service, drinking here is an experience. The staff put in an effort in making sure you feel special. Id recommend their flaming Lamborghini for those wild at heart. The music is great and I like how its arranged in such a way that you choose how much of the loudness youd like to sit near(if that makes any sense😂) Id recommend you go here when youre looking for a drinking/dancing experience with friends at night...

Ordered a take away cappuccino at their kiosk on 01/29/2028 on our way out. Got a nice spider web all over my cups lid. Guess that shows how often they clean ?

With Covid 19 around why not spread the people around that you invite to stay at the Met, because now you have so many people yet you have to keep your distance, which means that there is a que waiting to eat yet you cant supple a coffee or something like that. When you get to get in the food is cold. So not to worry I cancelled my stay there tomorrow and will not be coming back. Thank you.

A bit of a disappointment compared to other news cafes. One good think. My meal, grilled chicken was awesome but my husband had the new ribeye steak and it was not worth the price asked. It was about 1cm thin and a quater of it was sinue, bone and fat. We mentioned this to the waitress, she just shugged. The place also needs to be renovated. The seats are worn and the menus are grubby., cutlery is bent. Sadly, They wont see us again

Visited again this weekend 1 Dec, and what a shocking downfall. Menu has been downsized to a few dishes of mostly bar food. Service is amateur hour. Cocktails are gone and instead you receive very uninspired, small and overpriced cocktails now with an overly complicated drinks menu. They were out of chicken livers, had to change order. They were out of noodles, had to change order. Strawberry daiquiri arrived with no alcohol and had to be taken back to be fixed at the bar. My partners food was given to another table first, because someone wanted to see what it looked like according to the waitress. Atrocious experience. Avoid.

What a dump this news Cafe, couches are disintegrating, leather worn out. Food is terrible and the music is so loud you cannot hear each other. In general a filthy place. Dont know how Emperors management allows this..

I had a good time here, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plus the food was divine, got the before 6 and they sold cocktails at a cheaper price before 6.

I was there on the 5th of January 2021..the waitress was nice but the food was horrible. The prawns was dry and washed out... The steak was also washed.. Tasted like everything was defrost in water.. Their green salad was the worst. Everything was just bad.. Waste of money..i guess its a place for groove and not food..

This is definitely a place to get your hair down. The family friendly area is very quiet, if you want to have a night out on the town, the smoking area is the place to be. They serve a wide variety of cocktails. The waitress are not the most attentive though. The smoking section has poor air circulation and they dont give mints with their bills

Its expensive with great cocktails and varied food. Today was not a good day at the News Cafe. They only had one water carafe, says the waiter, and had to keep taking it from the table to refill it and then it had to be shared and refilled before the other person could enjoy their drink. Silly but annoying.

Horrible experience. They wouldnt let our friends in because they had parcels with them. Apparently people come there with their own food so we were not welcome. I even spoke to Mike the manager. Shameful treatment of customers. Embarrassing.

This was my first visit to Newscafe in years and although the service was friendly and efficient I consider the prices of the food and drinks to be exorbitant. Perhaps the food tasted worth the price you pay, but my wife and I didnt stick around to find out.For this reason we only each had one cocktail and left to enjoy the evening further at a different venue.

No such thing as smoking and non smoking areas. Food and waitress good but no control of unruly patrons. Entire restaurant stinks of smoke and they ignore the request to close smoking area doors. Will never return or recommend Emperors Palace News cafe.

The service was great, food was delicious and drinks were amazing!!I order the Spicy Chicken Quesadilla and my boyfriend had the All American Burger.Both meals were very flavoursome and I personally loved the fact that none of the flavours overpowered the others, complimenting the dishes perfectly.The waiter who seated is was very welcoming and even got us a more private spot so we can enjoy a quiet and relaxing dinner.Just over R300 for mains and drinks for 2, not bad at all!Will definitely go back in the near future! 👌

Service is quite good. Food is not at all great, prices for what you get are rather high.Noise levels are ridiculously high, its almost like being in a club. You cannot have a conversation with the person sharing a table with you. Best way to place your order is to point at what you want on the dog eared menu.Definately would not recommend it for a peaceful relaxing dinner. Overall pretty disappointed

Great vibe, great decor, great drinks and food menus......not so great service. If you have patience and dont mind waiting longer than usual for your order then this place is for you. Seriously though, if the table service is reigned in and improved, this place is great.

Try their fully loaded chips. And then dip those into a cheese sauce. You will have a heart attack, but it is one hell of a way to go.

I love this place. The beer is cold. The ladies are beautiful. My only problem is that when ever I come here, the next morning its difficult to go to work.

Ordered a hot drink with almond milk. Without telling us they ran out of almond milk, they put low fat milk in the drink anyway and didnt tell us. When it was served we first checked with the waiter that almond milk was in it and he confirmed. When it tasted different we asked again only to find out they put low fat milk in because they had run out. My friend is lactose intolerant.The manager couldnt understand why it was a problem that low fat milk instead of almond milk was an issue. Also when the bill came they still charged us extra for the almond milk. The service as bad.

News Cafe - Mall@ Carnival... Great environment but the Food is Horrible, on top of that, one has to wait forever to get their orders... I have never tasted such horrible food, thinking about it actually upsets my tummy... If they could get a better chef and improve on their service, they honestly a great hang out place

Tonight we were disappointed:* The cocktail menu changed. No blue Curacao cocktail on the menu anymore. Replaced with overpriced items instead;* Dacquiri (not virgin) ordered had no alcohol (rectified by bar manager when returned);* Ordered livers and told theyre out of stock,* Ordered a chicken bowl and told theyre out of stock of noodles;* My food was taken to another patrons table as I was told she asked to see it (yes really!); and* Service was slow in general, with no thank you after paying since I refused to tip mediocre service.Wont be returning.

On Tuesday the 4th December 2018, the service was efficient and friendly. The breakfast was OK, not a great tasting breakfast but did the job.No problem recommending Newscafe for a good experience.
