The atmosphere embodies the Thai experience. Although the therapist are not Thai, they are well trained. Im still confused on whether I received aromatherapy (which I requested) or deep tissue, but nonetheless it was well received. The massage was probably one of the best Ive had, (value for money). The facilities are well kept, overall good experience will definitely return.

One of the best Thai spa’s I have been to. The ladies there know exactly what they are doing and the setup of the place is just beautiful and calm. When you are around you should give them a try.

If you’re looking for a massage and you’re in the area then I wouldn’t say don’t pop in.The massage (Aroma) was done well. Though I’m guessing the oil used was baby oil, I was expecting something a little more fragrant.Room was absolutely freezing cold, it didn’t make for a pleasant experience.Facilities are clean and the overall atmosphere is relaxing and interesting.Staff members are helpful but seem uninterested in being there, so that energy is a bit off putting.They put out tea and cookies after the massage which is a nice touch. Absolutely loved the tea.

The spa is absolutely amazing. The decor really does a lot to make you feel like youve escaped the fast paced jhb life and entered into serene, original Thai surroundings. I honestly received the best massage I have ever had, be prepared for firm pressure, effective bends and stretches and a thorough kneading out of knots and tension in various stress areas. I would go back in a heart beat👌

Was always a tried nd true favourite.Food had no flavour, no coriander or lime or garlic.Teeny Tiny portions of duck on a pile of stir fry with little to no sauce No problem charging higher prices for less food and quality though.place is basically empty when it used to be busy. After 13 years as a customer wont be back. I couldnt bring myself to eat leftovers, just a rip off.

This is one of the best Thai massages in Joburg Ive been experienced. The lady is good at what shes doing. My husband and I both satisfied with one hour traditional thai and one hour neck and shoulder massage. Will come back soon :)

I found it strange that the restaurant is attached to the spa but I do have to say I received the best massage I have ever had in my life. Ask for Kung. She was amazing. Worked all the knots out of my back and legs, and unlike other places she didn’t seem to be caught up with the time. She went over time in order to fix me right up and didn’t charge extra. Fantastic experience with and excellent and knowledgable practitioner.

Spontaneously decided to kill 15 minutes before going to see James Morrison live at Teatro at Monte casino, mom and I popped into Kai Thai spa and restaurant.We where ushered upstairs to a private massage area which over looked the restaurant. After relaxing on the recliner seats our masseuses walked in and attended to our treatments Zanele promptly started massaging my mother Neck and shoulders and Zama began with my foot massage. Both treatment where a little longer than the 15 minutes which was to our advantage.My mother was “ooing and aahing” in ecstasy, and I was in complete bliss. My mother has been suffering with a shoulder injury for some time now and had been in great agony, her masseuse manipulated her shoulder to such an extent, zanele elevated the majority of her pain.Midway through our massages our cocktails had arrived, that we had previously ordered on arrival of booking the treatments, and oh my golly gosh how tasty these delights where. Me opting for a pina colada which was thick and creamy, maybe one of the tastiest I’ve experienced, and I like my cocktails, mom chose a shaken margarita which was tangy to the taste with a dash of sour.Definitely recommend swinging past for quick treatment.

I was greatly disappointed. If I go for a Thai massage I expect an authentic Thai massage done by a Thai Lady. This was not an authentic Thai massage. It was not done by a Thai Lady. You can feel it when they massage you. Thai ladies have that something special in their hands. If you are going to offer Thai massages get the right masseuses to do the massages. I will not go back. It was not comfortable it hurt. It was hard and punchy, not flowing through as I am use to.

Sadly had the most terrible experience. Dirty towels were used. Staff were rude and uncaring in what was supposed to be a calm and environment where one trusts things will be done well and hygiene would be taken into account. I am shocked that the sheets and towels were not changed or cleaned in between clients. Towel I put my forehead on was dirty with a sticky brown patch in the centre. Appalling for this establishment especially as it is in Montecasino which we hold in high regard.

Usually I see a specific massage therapist who is good here. Today I did not have such luck and was seen by a reckless and seemingly untrained individual, apparently by the name of Goofy ...and was she. She was rough and rude.Otherwise the spa is a no frills, no luxury, just massage and go experience, for which it is satisfactory.

Excellent facilities, very neat and well kept. They have plenty of therapists and almost always have space for a booking. The therapists are really good and always accommodating. Thinking about my last visit and writing this review makes me want to go in tomorrow for a shoulder, neck and head.... Which I highly recommend.

Restaurant is quite outdated, chipped and old cutlery, service was disgusting. Waiters do not know the menu or how the food is prepared. Cocktails and drinks were watered down. Complained to the bravo manager on duty who advised that he couldnt assist neither could he replace the meals. Stay away!!

The food is very tasty and great for someone that likes spicy food, but if it disturbs you to see staff rising from the couches from a nap when a customer is walking around blindly looking to see if this restaurant is actually open, this place is not for you. It would really benefit from having a manager on site.

Very aggressive massage. Masseuse was robotic and had long nails. I left with scratch marks all over my body and a stiff neck. I wouldnt go back... The setting is beautiful though

Overall I was hugely impressed!...I was worried at first that a spa/restaurant is a strange combination... but the spa operates separately and has its own entrance, the entrance seems small and tight at fist but once inside and up 2 flights of stairs an amazing, spacious, brilliantly authentic thai spa awaits!The therapists were professional and mindful of our requests, the facilities are great and decor is wonderulI honestly underestimated Kai Thai spa aand was amazed at my experience, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our couples package and will be back!

This was the worst experience ever. Drive an hour to get there.. staff are totally useless and rude. Waited an hour and the waiter didnt order my food . Wasted over an hour and recieved no food. Sat through while the other two people at my table ate and not once did anyone attempt to resol e tne sutuation.I will never again go there and recommend that no one ever goes there...Didnt even apologies.... cannot believe that Monti Casino allow such a pathetic restaurant to operate in the casino.At first I thought that I was the only one with an issue but the noticed atleast 6 different tables camplain and even some people walk out.With a variety available at Monti...I suggest choose another resturant to eat at.
