Still a good place, but was looking a but shabby around the edges. No sure how safe it would be alone.

Decent park but I worry about safety/security

This park as massive, but its also entirely dead.Fences are broken at several places.There are squatters living beside the river in the thick bushes.There is a storm water or sewage river running through site and it smells horrific.The fountain in the park is beyond destroyed.The solar house isnt maintained.The ponds are nice to look at, but very filthy for ponds.There are big lawns so theres plenty of space for kites, riding a bike, playing ball sports or bringing your own braai.The entrance guard booth is very inquisitive as to why someone visits the PUBLIC park, which is in a tiny amount good for safety, but mostly intimidating to some would-be visitors.

Used to be amazing even for a casual walk, its closed now. Construction is commencing if Im not mistaken

Its a family friendly place.

Cool place, enough space for everybody, security control is always there. Dont stress with people who are staying there the are using strong rules, you do wrong they move you out.

Place is good, there are a few informal settlement houses. There is a thouroufare in the park, making it unsafe

Its a good place to go for a run or a walk.

Its a nice closed off park. When I was younger, my father used to take me there to ride my little motor bike. But these days it seems no vehicles are allowed past a certain point. Which does make it better for children and pets to run around all they want.

Had to take my son for a youth festival hosted here. The directions on google does not get u there. The address on google maps say Katherine street and Grayston drive. But this address will not take you to the location of the park. It was cumbersome to find the venue. Also squatters are located at the periphery of the park making it seem unsafe for youth to walk about unsupervised. Luckily the event organizers had ample security throughout the park for this festival. Picking up kids after the festival proved to be a task as there is one lane going in and one coming out. It looked like a good space but who is going to visit a park that has squatters close by. We only visited for the purpose of this event. I would not use the venue for taking my family on a picnic or a day out here. Looked rather shady with people from the squatters sitting around aimlessly.

If you stretch your imagination this park is or will be in the next few years Johannesburgs version of Central Park. This is due to the huge amount of development in the area. Surrounded by upmarket / expensive commercial and some residential developments. This is the address of The SA Stock Exchange (JSE) & the SA Cannabis Exchange (SACANNX) / (SACANEX) besides many other leading organizations including the HQ: for finance & industry. This is Sandton CBD The wealthiest real estate in Africa. Not to forget a short walk to SA Underground; only 15 minutes to the airport. Full of shopping centers, hotels and restaurants. Hopefully this last bit of nature / green space will not be destroyed by development.

The last remains of Sandton farmland, a scenic green stretch next to a busy highway. Unfortunately local squatters appear to be occupying land illegally. They can be distracting and have polluted the local ecosystem to a very high extent - burning plastic and throwing rubbish in the nearby river.
