I was transferred here for spinal fractures and a head injury from a bad fall and the care I received was amazing! My doctor, Dr.Nash, saw me twice a day and really looked after me. The nurses were also amazing and friendly, they were well trained and managed the ward very well. The hospital is also clean and recently renovated, a wonderful place to stay when you’re not well.

How unfortunate that after my car accident I was sent here. The nurses from reception seemed annoyed with the group of 10 plus people who were bought in by 2 ambulances after a pile up in the high way. Most of us could walk so we were just there for a check up as reccomended by the paramedic. Service was slow I spent 4 hours on something that could have taken an hour or 2. I paid 9 thousand for that service and no thank you it was not worth it. The hospital was not clean especially the floor with cockroaches crawling there. The service staff gossiped and discuss work politics as they pushed me along to the xray. Let me not speak about how I called Bonitas mtself because the radiology department could not get through to them to get an authorisation number for my XRay and CT scan as I had a concussion. Thank you to the wonderful lady at Bonitas who helped me get the authorisation number else the claim would have not been paid. I think Netcare Millpark can do better than the price we pay for their services.

Due to Covid-19 all non-covid patients are now attended to in some sort of container... zero privacy, some Mal-functioning equipment, and not the friendliest of nurses... the attending Doctor was top, though... all in all I expected a lot more from a private high-end health care provider...

Milpark Hospital is without a doubt the worst netcare hospital! where shall I start, the staff members at the entrance of hospital are rude & very abrupt. they choose as to who they will question on there entrance to hospital.Except for a handful of nurses in the ICU Medical 1 unit the rest are absolutely abrupt & unhelpful.some of the ICU staff members are not accommodating to the needs of the patients with regards to family members visiting & taking care of loved ones. The nurses choose who they will talk to with respect & disregard others. management doesnt respect the family members of patients when a complaint has been brought to their attention!I have much more to share but its just alot to type.I think staff members need to be addressed concerning their bad attitudes & also be reminded as to how they receive their salaries, seen as it is people like us who make it possible! Please dont go to Milpark hospital, My mum was taken to Milpark hospital by other family members & it was the worst decision everSunninghill hospital is so much more professional, from nursing staff to doctors.I do hope that Netcare will look into this matter.

Emergency admission - the nursing staff and doctors were cruel and unhelpful. I was in casualty from around 8am to 7pm. Asked for water multiple times - was only given my own drink from my bag at 8pm when I was taken to a ward. The nursing staff and doctors did not explain what was wrong, to myself or my husband who was waiting in the waiting area from the time of admission until 15:00 when a doctor finally spoke to him with no conclusive answers. The staff in casualty are noisy, laughing and joking around, and when they see you calling for help - they look at you and just turn away. Unacceptable and disgusting for a healthcare facility.

The service and lack of Care from Dr Rowji the Neurologist was poor. He never returns calls to the patients family and lacks compassion. Living in America for 12 years I remember leaving with memories of Drs in South Africa having a major level of arrogance and making snarky comments (like this is a board room).... Its shocking to see this behavior is still occurring and not being regulated. This is a hospital! You are taking care of sick and dying patients with family members who are concerned. How can you be so disconnected to NOT know or understand this. Its so sad to see how the brain drain is affecting South Africa and all the disconnected doctors remain and bully the public. Numerous tests were done on my father which were all clear and a rush was made to try do surgery of which my father refused. We then took him to another hospital to find he had a blood infection. My father passed away and we were so disappointed in how this doctor handled things.

Very disappointed by the service at Milpark Hospital. I was admitted to the Emergency Centre at 4pm and only got a bed at 12am. However, the beds were cozy and the nurses tucked me in, sheets were changed every night, room and bathrooms were clean. I am also happy to have had my procedure done at 8 that following morning. Dr Mirza was my specialist surgeon and I am very saddened by his care and attentiveness towards me. I was not comforted and explained to about how the procedure works and what they will be doing. He snapped at me to get dressed and he will see me soon in theatre. When I woke from the anesthesia I was left in a room alone. An hour or two had gone by before I was taken back to my section, like they had forgotten about me. Dr Mirza didn’t come in to check on me after the procedure and ask how I’m feeling. The next time I saw him was that following day. The nurses tried to get ahold of him to ask if I could eat and whether there will be any further procedures and no one could get ahold of him until 24 hours later. At that point, I had gone without food for almost 48 hours as I could not eat before going in for the procedure as well. I was starving and very weak. I did not have any further procedures and I could’ve eaten right after being in theatre but the doctor had failed to inform the nurses. I wasn’t given a specific diet of what I can eat either (this is vital as the reason why I was admitted was due to stomach issues). I was given the same meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner two days in a row and only on my third day did the nurse ask what I’d like to have. The nurses never helped me shower and change out of my clothes no matter how much I pleaded. I even asked for a shorter line for my drip so I could attempt to do those things for myself. That was only changed on my third day. Otherwise I was pleased with their regular visits to check your blood pressure and pulse. The nurses on the night shift were a lot more attentive to your needs and friendlier. They always asked me about my pain levels and assisted with IVs, always making sure they’re full - whereas the day shift of nurses would leave it empty. It was stressful being a youngin’ and my first time spent overnight in hospital. I’ve done a lot of tests, had x-rays and ultrasounds but never received the photographs and information. But, my big issue is with Dr Mirza and his 30 second visits to see you with his snarky attitude. He never explained my condition, what it’s caused from or gave me advice on how to manage it before being discharged.

Check in was terrible; overnight monitoring was sloppy; and in the morning there was no handover so the morning High Care nurses didnt even know I was in the lab and was so surprised to see me. When I woke up in the morning nobody knew what to do with me. The lights were off and the lab was kind of locked. They didnt know who I was or why I was there. The night staff didnt allow me to fall asleep naturally and a bunch of times the EEG nodes fell off and only after 30 minutes they came to put it back on. The actual room I was in was kind of used for storage with boxes and random equipment. It took weeks and weeks for the report and results to come back to me. Doctors the best ever.Nursing staff should not be allowed near patients. It was so bad that we are pursuing legal action against one of the nurses.

My father had a stroke and we got the ambulance to take him to Milpark hospital. If I could take that decision back I would direct him elsewhere even though its further and higher risk of travel. The nursing staff are a complete waste of time, they dont have the decency to listen or respond. They have no idea what patients they have under their control and patients get transferred out of general ward into ICU with no notification to the next of kin. My dads clothing went missing while there. And the information received about his current state from the staff differered completely to the information received from the doctors. Only 1 of the doctors treating him had the decency to talk to us and let us know what was going on. My advice is go elsewhere if you have a choice as they are just a health provider and there is no care there.

Theres a doctor by the name edgar. Has no respect for patients time. Made me wait for more than 9 hours just to get discharged and when the receptionist called him, he had the audacity to say that im being childish and should wait for as long as it takes. Thats total disregard for a patients time. I walked out of there without being discharged..My advice, look somewhere else for hospitalization. They make it seem as if they are doing us a favor. Yet they suck our medical insurances dry.

Milpark claims to have 300+ beds available, but one can wait 5 hours for a bed to be made available. The shuttle service is half functional, as we found one cart was out of service more than once, even if its for re-charging batteries. The wait takes forever, that my 90yr old father opts to walk instead of waiting for the shuttle. The wound clinic is situated far at the back of the hospital where there is no practical route to walk there. Waiting forever for the shuttle that never arrived outside the wound clinic where you get the pungent odor of refuse adjacent opposite is an unpleasant experience, when you add in the endless wait for a shuttle. So, we took a short cut past the nitrogen tanks, near the linen store, and ended up in the middle of the hospital, thus we were able to try and shorten the time wasted waiting. My father is 90, still going strong.

A life time experience to be insulted by a young disrespectful, impatient emergency Dr. Meyer on his duty. Instead of getting help he stormed into room, shouted with no regards to his profession and manner. No information were provided, rest of the staff including Meyer himself seem to be woken up from deep dream. Recommended to be avoided unless you like to be treated as equivalent to a prisoner in a private hospital. I do not care if male chavinism is still commonly practiced in ZA, please remind yourself that you are working in a private service sector where integrity to your profession shall be kept at any circumstances. A doctor is there to provide care and information to the patients in need. Perhaps theres a room to reflect why you hate the job instead of greeting your patient with unreasonable outrage and disrespect. Sorry for walking out on you.
