Most disappointing, arrogant service when it comes to repairs Ive ever encountered. Discovered a gas leak from a perished hose and faulty regulator. Payed a steep callout fee upfront (even though the issue was clearly detailed before the callout so the necessary parts could have been bought with) This was followed by continuous back and forth because the current installation is allegedly no longer compliant and may require a cage. Their own inspector even stated that a cage was not entirely necessary and other arrangements could be made. Yet it seems Gas and Equipment are more interested in insisting on an exorbitant quote for hypothetical compliance which could take another two weeks instead of assisting in remedying the immediate and very high risk of a leak. Defies all logic.

They do not answer calls no matter when you call and cant give me any feedback on a heater I brought for fixing over a month ago. The one time got through, I was placed on hold for an eternity. I still dont have my heater back. Rather take your business elsewhere if you need anything gas related.

I’ve been refilling cylinders here for years and now that I need a new 19kg cylinder for a newly installed geyser, I am told that there is a shortage and they only provide if I already have an empty one. Don’t really get the logic, but perhaps other shops are willing to help.

I realised today for the first time that my two blue Cadac gas containers were changed for Easy Gas containers. I remember I always used to go and have my cilinders filled there. Last year I was told cilinders are no longer filled, I have to take the Easy Gas ones. Today I went to get gas and insisted on getting a well-maintained cilinders, because mine have always been in a good condition. I was met with rudeness and unhelpfulness. So I complained. Then I was told by Barbara that she has owned the business for 40 years and that she has NEVER filled containers. That is not my recollection. Barbara is 50 years old...

I traveled all the way to the store based on a phone call where stock availability was confirmed; all during a fuel shortage; to find out they had no stock of gas for refills at all. What a waste of time.

Staff incompetence, poor service. (Used to) Come here weekly for gas refills, then get treated poorly when their payment/bank equipment fails. Wouldnt release my property dispite presenting 3 types of Proof of Payment for the payment.

I have been using gas and equipment for many many years now and I have had the worst experience there ever on Tuesday. It took me 40 minutes to get a 9kg gas refill because the women standing outside handing out tickets has no concept of urgency, time or customer service. She shouts and berates customers for their choice of gas cylinder, as if we have a say in what they give us and then they only have 1 cashier opened and then that same lady is very confused when you go to actually get your full gas bottle, shes so lost and confused and its very frustrating. They need to sort out their processes

Gas order lady put down the phone on me for no apparent reason????? Ordered 4 x 48kg cylinders 6 months ago. previously cylinders lasted years. I wonder if the cylinders are not filled properly??????? I am going to check for a leak in my pipes????

Terrible customer service(more occasions than not i would pay for a refill only to be told after payment i have to wait almost the whole day for a refill). And when you raise your concerns politely their condescension is rather frustrating as they virtue signal as if they doing something but not really.Staff needs better training on customer service etiquette and they need to get their logistics in order. Being busy is no excuse to slack off and mistreat customers.Fortunately there is another gas place close by thats 10 times better. When they busy they explain themselves in due course and managed expectations.

These guys are the best for refilling gas cylinders large and small, spares etc. They specialise in gas appliances, have been at it for years and years. They also have small home heat-the-water units for kitchen sinks now, a great way of saving on geyser electricity without freezing your hands off in winter.

The service is so bad. Theres always so much chaos and no one cares. Im writing this review after visiting 3 times and seeing no difference/improvement. Also, the staff members Ive interacted with are right up there on the unpleasant scale. Quite frankly, Id rather drive further for better service.

Fabulous that they have gas. Not many places do. Problem: to pick up once bottles are filled. Very slow to find filled bottles as there system is ridiculous.

Didnt have the material I needed and they were over priced

Ive always had outstanding service however i recently had my 2 bottles filled and handed in my brand new CADAC 9kg heater to be serviced/mended as the gas was not being fed to the front and therefore would not ignite. I had to wait 2 weeks and then paid R 300 on collection. I didnt get my cash slip to prove i paid as my driver saud they dont return the slips my heater us stil not working!!!!!! So they did nothing but received the payment. Im livid and cold.

This review is long overdue. Im personally not one for writing reviews and don’t honestly remember when last I wrote one. I came into the Gas and Equipment store in Randburg on the 3rd January to purchase a MC 601 Rinnai remote controller for my Rinnai gas geyser. Some of the pleasant front line staff started to engage with me. A few minutes later Andre Valkenburg joined the conversation and spent some quality time educating me on gas geysers and remote controllers in a way that left me speechless. Never in my life have I experienced such exceptional service as what I did with Gas and Equipment on that day. They had no stock on the MC 601 remote controllers and Andre made a plan and gave me the deluxe high end MC 100V at a huge discount. On top of that he dispatched his staff the same day to come and review my installation and setup to make sure there were no leaks and to install the remote controller free of charge. His staff are humble, pilot and just as educational and passionate as Andre is. The Gas and Equipment team absolutely exceeded my expectations in a way I have never experienced before. Look forward to doing business with the Gas and Equipment team again in the near future.

Great and quick service!

I dealt with this company about 10 years ago & was almost reduced to tears with their inefficiency! I now have reason to deal with them again & cannot even manage to make a service appointment!!! Unfortunately they seem to have the monopoly on servicing gas stoves & fireplaces in Johannesburg. I wonder if the owner/MD has gas appliances & who does his/her maintenance. A completely frightful experience! They are only receiving 1 star because I have to do it in order to post this review.

Poor service and aggression from service staff. Lodged a query/complaint on the morning of Tuesday 9 July re 48kg canister installed on 3 June which finished on 8 July after minimal use on a small jet master fire place. Previously the tank had lasted for 2 winters. Usage patterns and fireplace havent changed. Gas and Equipment have not reverted since with a way forward on my query. This leaves me to conclude that they delivered a half empty canister.

They filled up my gas bottles quickly and efficiently, only charging me R4 to unblock a jet in my cooker plate. They have a wide stock of gas and fire related equipment.

Very rude and unprofessional staff when I called them to make an enquirer telephonically.
