Absolutely shocking. Staff say that my boyfriend (who I live with!) may not spot me because of social distancing. So by all means, come and have half a workout. Machines that are blocked off do not make sense. I understand if they are right next to each other but surely they should skip one in between then? And if a machine is all alone then why block it off? And machines that are more than 2m apart? Hate this club for its lack of common sense! Virgin, do better!

This gym puts on a very bad name for Richard Branson as it is probably the worse virgin active Ive been to. These are just some things that irritate me about the balfour gym.1. It needs its own parking lot because the car guards hassle you on a daily basis2. Theres been a few times when I havent been able to get into the gym because the staff are elsewhere3. When I signed up, I was told that there is free wifi that I can always and is uncapped but has never worked and they blame it on a cyber attack that happened in March. ITS OCTOBER NOW and the other gyms Ive gone to have fixed their internet by setting up the smoothie bar with wifi or using a the wifi of the sports grounds4. The machines are close to ancient and are always broken. They dont even follow the virgin active theme as virgins have a red theme and all those machines arent. The spacing also makes no sense as random machines That are distanced from others are blocked off. Similarly, if one of their old machines break, instead of switching it with a working machine, they rather just leave a sign saying its not working.l and never fix it.I would not recommend this gym to anyone

Staff members have good communication skills always eager to assist and very welcoming. They even greet with my name😊Their class instructors to be specific Buntu, Swazi and Zake are the best best best.Swazi was once my personal trainer, she pushed me to my limits and training with her was really therapeutic ❤️I recommend Virgin Active Balfour to Everyone ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Equipment in the gym must be 20+ years old. Urgently needs upgrading. Other virgin active gyms have much newer, much safer equipment. This gym also closes earlier than other virgin active gyms for some reason.

I will not recommend it to anyone... they doubled my monthly installment without my approval... they ripping people off ... vitality is a scam guys ....if you not going to the gym they double your monthly installment if feel they have to consultant with the member prior to them jumping to increase installment .... scam

I have been called that I missed payment in February 2021, 7 months later seriously that for me was crab for such a big organization.

Its not as spacious as Id like but it gets the job done

Ive generally had a good experience at this club but of late since they implemented the COVID19 measures it has become particularly frustrating, dont misunderstand me I fully support and accept the need for the measures, what doesnt make sense is the total lack of logic and the arbitrariness of which machines have been decommissioned. They seem to just want to be seen to be compliant (malicious compliance), so no matter the spacing of machines, every other machine is closed, in some cases even when there is only one of the particular machine available, often critical to your training.

They got very small treadmills, so small not even suitable for home use. There equipments are outdated,back exercise equipment nonexistent.The only reason I am still a member is because the proximity. I wont recommend it to anyone.

I have been going to this Gym for a year now and I am very happy with everything on offer.The gym is always clean and presentable. I never have to wait for equipment no matter what time I go. However the treadmills are always full. It doesnt bother me because I dont run much at all.Speaking of the equipment, it is very modern and always works 100%. The machines are clearly labeled with instructions and in variety of languages. There is an online booking system to allow you to book classes such as spinning and yoga which happen a various times during the day and week.Overall it is always a good experience at this gym.

Unlike planet fitness you cant bring a friend or kid along on occasion but need to pay R250. Cant take my kid along every couple of month. Oh, and also no try-outs . Do yourself a favour and find a club thats no completely full of it. Its really not like there is anything super special about this club and unless it really is the closest by far, go with a PF who are clearly more accomodating and customer oriented.

Friendly reception staff. Good range of equipment, and there are hardly ever queues. Mens bathrooms are always stinky. The instore Kaui is pretty quick with smoothie orders. The Kids Zone is really nice, and has great carers working.

This is an excellent gym offering. Balfour Park has an indoor swimming pool, a steam room, a spinning studio, plenty of classes to choose from (including pilates, yoga, pound, and many cardio classes), a circuit, a weights section, and every weight machine you can think of. There is also a 360 degree boxing bag. The staff are also very friendly and there is an option to sign your child up for the kids club allowing you to work out knowing your child is well looked after. The onsite Kauai is also ideal for powering up before or after a workout.

Probably the worst Gym, never clean, nor available equipment theres also a chance that the equipment is broken like the rowing machines or cable machines... People seldomly put the weights back let alone in the right place and there isnt a large selection to start off with.
