This place us amazing!Great place for date night and the shows played is only but quality,The restaurant is also very good, the food was prepared quickly despite the massive rush at the time.I strongly suggest going there early is key to enjoying the meal before the show.Making a booking is a must for a group bigger then 4.

The best theater in Johannesburg and possibly the entire South Africa, beautiful, clean and welcoming from their receptions is great. The cafes, theatres and the park outside plus you can easily get to the theater will all modes of transport, buses, gautrain, taxis or call cabs, if you are in Joburg Centre you can even walk to. These are places that need to be supported a lot because they entertain people at the same time teach audience whatever the story is teaching and develop real actors at the same time. Big up to the Civic Theater

First visit and was blown away. Watched the brilliant production of West Side Story. A must-watch if you love good theatre.

What a lovely place. The Isandlwana Lecture and the performance was out of this world. This Isandlwana story should be taught to generations to come.

I visited Joburg theatre with some girl friends to see the South African stage production of the Colour purple it was my first time there. Loved everything about the experience except for the seating, not enough leg room. I felt like I was sitting on top of my neighbors and it therefore took away from the experience a bit because I constantly had to be mindful of where I put my leg and arm so that the person next to me didnt feel like I was encroaching on their space. Restaurant service was a tad slow, was a mission to get drinks and our bill.

Watched Don Quixote the ballet with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra in the pit. Awesome!!

The ballet Don Quixote was a fabulous performance. The dancers are simply amazing, and absolutely beautiful. A real professional performance with orchestra and all and well worthy of our support. It was a fun outing and we went early and had a delicious meal at Stages, the restaurant at the theater. Good service and lovely atmosphere with many theater folk also relaxing there before the performance.

Very beautiful place. The inside is world class. A attended a year end function for the City of Johannesburg libraries and saw people getting recognized for their work in their respective libraries and communities. It was inspiring and motivational.

Great pantomime. We try to go every year and take our grandchildren. The special effects are phenomenal. This years 3D effects were excellent.

We went to watch Pinocchio last week. The sets and costumes were world class, and the snide political comments were hilarious. Its a great theatre to go to. Clean space, with comfortable seats that stay down when you put them down and no inconvenient pillars. Theres enough parking. It was a great evening out.

Sinatra and Me. What a show....loved it. The Theatre complex is magnificent. Just allow time to get out of the parking. About half an hour.

Great Theatre. The only real premier theatre in Joburg. Very limited underground parking and parking is a ripoff. R20 for a couple of hours.

It really is a good place to visit. It has plenty of safe parking and in the theatre it is good seating and all round good viewing. They put on excellent shows and are very well attended.

I had so much fun watching Violet. Theater is amazing

We attended a fantastic performance of West Side Story starring Jonathan Roxmouth here. I was amazed at how versatile the stage is and how the set designer had maximized these facilities for this show. Its always a great venue to enjoy bigger South African theater productions

What a Beautiful venue and a lovely family day out

We go at least once a year for the pantomime and sometimes to other shows during the year. The phone-in box office booking facility is very friendly and efficient. Staff always friendly and helpful. Altogether a good experience

Absolutely fabulous. Went to watch a show called The Prodigal Man by Michael Lungile Themba. It was everything and more. I was taking through so many emotions. They have a restaurant called Stages. Food is cheap and tasty. The alcohol is reasonable and the service is great

The Theatre is Fabulous

Amazing place in the heart of Joburg. When youre inside, you totally forget about the really metropolitan outside and youre in another world... Stages is also an amazing restaurant that you find inside.

Good theatres are so far and few between you cant help but to show your love when you find a great one!

I love this theatre. Its a gem which is totally under utilized. Some of the best shows are on and the facilities and amenities are great.Crafters showcase their wares - such talent, always something new. Theres tons of parking in the parkade. And when you walk the staircases, escalators or use the lifts you feel like a star!

The theatre is in the heart of JHB CBD. It is better to drive in the city during the weekend as there is no traffic. The theatre is a decent size and has the necessary facilities with a decent restaurant at the entrance. The seating positions are okay with decent views. The theatre will attract customers if there are good shows.

It has a fantastic vibe and the people working there are cheerful and helpful.

Wonderful to be able to see great theater productions in Joburg. The parking arrangements are rather unorganized and ineffective. One needs to factor this into ones plans for arrival.
