Star Academy has been instrumental in my sons development. They have made world class ABA therapy available locally, an evidence based treatment for autism which has changed the course of our lives as a family. The founder, Ilana has a genuine passion for helping children and parents trying to navigate the world of autism and our team of therapists are absolutely remarkable, ensuring that sessions are both fun and successful. We are eternally grateful to have found her and the Star Academy and I cannot recommend them enough.

The team at Star Academy are beyond amazing!! Weve worked with them via zoom for 8 months and that quality of care is next level. Both my children have made significant gains and their team has gone beyond reasonable expectations to make that happen. We are based in Australia and the care here is extremely expensive, we were able to do a months worth of sessions every day through Star for what it costs in Australia to do 3 sessions. The supervisors and therapists give you practical advice you can actually apply and walk EVERY step of this journey holding your hand. I cannot speak more highly of their team and my experience working with them. If you want your child you thrive you wont find a better team to help you get them there!

Its been 8 months since my child joined the star Academy. Last year she could only say about 3 words (at 3 years) and hardly understood what they meant. But now she has more words and can correctly name objects. She understands instructions given. Extremely happy and always eager to go to school. My daughters hyperactivity has reduced, wants to engage with us and even try some activities, does not ham since she can now say more words and even try to sing. We were in pain last year (we did not know how we could help our child), but a call to the star Academy changed our lives. Our days are just full of smiles. I thank God that led me to Ilana. Am so full of hope that my child will thrive.

I am incredibly grateful to Ilana and all of the staff at The Star Academy for their guidance, hard work and support. Out little angel has come on in leaps and bounds in just a few months. Being able to bond with our child and watch her grow is just priceless.

The Star Academy and its team has been an essential part of our lives for 3 years. Our sons came in at 2yrs non verbal and struggling and now at 5yrs is not only verbal but functioning well in a mainstream school environment and thriving. He loves his Star team and we are greatful to every person who has been a member of his team over the last 3 years.

Star academy have been wonderful in assisting my son achieve his goals. They have helped identify and manage many of the problems he was experiencing. They are knowledgeable and helpful and you feel like you child is in the best of hands!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Where are the occupational therapists? Speech therapists? Where is the sensory integration which is so fundamental in treating ASD? Money making facility that promises results but provides no sound evidence based on healthcare. ABA can have detrimental long terms effects especially when not provided with adequate training. This facility allows BA sports science graduates to provide ABA?Many children are seen in OT and ST practices years later because of the detrimental effects. Wow just shocked.

I brought Jack to the Academy Jan2020. Theyve changed our lives. Alicia is such an unbelievable, understanding mentor. Their patience with Jack and with me and Quintin is, still, unbelievable.How, on earth, I wouldve been able to help my son, without the Stars help, I, really, dont know.I am eternally grateful for what they have and are accomplishing with Jack. My experience working at The Star Academy has been incredible thus far. As I am still a junior instructor, I have asked a number of questions to ensure that I am working to the best of my abilities. I always get a response from my fellow instructors, leads, supervisors and admin staff. I absolutely love working with these children and from the feedback groups I can see how much progress is being made within weeks. I believe that working here will definitely benefit my future goals and give me the experience that I need.

God has given us a blessing of a beautiful girl but unfortunately she was diagnosed with autism. We have ever since tried everything possible and even used all our savings to give her the best. Due to the recent pandemic my husband had lost his job which had an adverse impact on our child. We are very grateful to have found an angel like llana from Star Academy who has touched our lives in so many ways you cant imagine. The Star Academy has been such a blessing for my son. We had very little success with other therapies. My son showed incredible progress with the ABA program. Thank you to the most incredible person, Ilana, who learned me so much about autism and ABA. Thanks to Ilana I had yesterday started with ABA classes with my grandson via Zoom. My first consultation with Kirsten was excellent. Loud, clear and straight to the point, I found myself questionless. Thank you for putting my mind at ease with all the information I needed. You answered every question I had without even asking them.

When SA went into the first lockdown I was asked to remove my son from school as I was a nurse and they had fears of my son being at that school. I was disappointed but more distraught as I didnt know where to turn to. By chance I came across Star Academy and scheduled him an assessment, and he was accepted. At that point he was not toilet trained, unable to dress himself, with not the best communication skills and basically not a candidate for mainstream school obviously. From the first week I saw change in my son, he was happy and excited to be at school. He loved his tutors from day 1. He was in school from 8 to 3 every day. His tutors became friends and family as they helped him and supported me. Less than a year later we left to come back home. By that time, my son was fully toilet trained, able to dress himself and very verbal and demanding lol. He continues his sessions online and best of all he is now accepted to the American International School with absolutely no need to be in the assisted learning programme! God sends you angels when you most need them but least expect it. Avisha, Terena, Riv, Cam, Nikki and Kajal are our angels. Thank you for everything you do for us and my boy. The Star Academy hosts the most professional and compassionate staff I have ever encountered. They helped me and others financially with a considerable discount on tuition.My severely Autistic and non verbal daughter ,has been attending Star for over 10 years, during those years she had acquired many skills I did not believe possible. The staff and the founder of Star Academy Ilana, have always been attentive to my daughter’s needs and my requests, there only Agenda is the child’s best interest, they are very open minded to any therapy that would help.

The consultation with Star Academy was very informative and reassuring. I enjoyed the consultation very much and leant a lot about research performed on autism. There are so many things that can be considered to help the children with autism, such as diet and supplements that would not have possible bad side effects on the children. I would recommend a consultation with Star Academy for all parents of children with autism.

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would. I applied to work there. I passed their theory exam and was due to start training. They called me 15:30 on a Sunday afternoon, saying I need to start training the next day. When they stated training would only start on the 15th of February. After informing them, politely, that I was not able to make it for training the next day and I would not be able to continue with the employment opportunity I was told by Illana to run along now, bye-bye. I am shocked by the lack of professionalism and it makes sense why a court case was opened against them. Highly disgusted.

Our one on one session with Ilana provided us with the guidance and hope we required.Ilanas wealth of knowledge and passion regarding autism is so encouraging. She provided us with the necessary educational, biomedical information and direction we needed to  kick start your little ones journey in improving his quality of life.My husband and I felt extremely motivated and hopeful after our session  and felt we had just touched the tip of the iceberg regarding all the ways we could potentially help our son.We are so excited to join the Star Academy family amd start this journey with the team.

Had a consultation with Ilana today and it was great. She went into depth explaining dietary and ABA programs.

Star academy has been a sanctuary for progress , a safe space for a vulnerable time in both my children’s journeys and a place they cannot wait to go to daily . They individually have taken strides from the levels they started at until now , which are evident , encouraging and empowering . The path ahead remains but the steps have truly begun .

ABA has given Benjamin the tools to understand his surroundings, it has taken away a lot of his anxiety and given him confidence. I couldnt imagine our lives without The Star Academy. We will forever be grateful that our paths crossed.

When lockdown started and my daughters supervisor left at the same time, I was anxious and directionless. However, Star Academy sent Carmen Wessels to save the day. My daughters Zoom sessions have targeted so many skills in a natural all encompassing way. They have given our days structure and my daughter still gets the social contact she craves albeit over Zoom. Well done Carmen and team and Star Academy!

Absolutely terrible owner.She is very greedy for money. We went there to check out the school and the owner was absolutely rude to another parent on the phone. She then lashed out on us. She has serious psychological issues and once to prey on parents of autistic and special needs children. They are super expensive yet don’t have any recovery or success stories. They invest in google ad words and charge about R100k a year. Don’t waste your time. There are limited ABA therapists in SA and they take advantage of that!Bad!

Its an amazing place for the ABA program I cant have a words to explain how star academy gave us a changes on our boy with out any funding we were having a financial problem and its star academy who is make financial possible I really appreciate Illana and the whole team .

Very expensive school.Very greedy for money.The owner of the school claims to have cured her son, who doesn’t look recovered. She is a lawyer with outdated ABA certificates. Charging us R15k just for an assessment and then minimum R10k per month for just few hours a week.
