I have been seeing Dr. Alter for many years. Even after moving from Johannesburg to Pretoria; I still drive to get me dental treatments. e is the best!!The warmth starts with the ladies in reception to the Dr. himself.....Awww there are no emojis

Great doctor, knowledgeable, and a kind demeanour. However, I would like to note that the are extra fees outside the consultation price for a check-up. This was not discussed over the phone or at the reception desk beforehand. Infection control and a Sterile wrapped tray are additional costs. One should confirm the total fee before the visit.

We found Dr Avron Alter to be an outstanding dentist. Our young daughter unexpectedly needed quite extensive treatment and he was truly a pleasure to deal with in every way. We found him to be thoroughly professional and very caring and competent. Our little girl recently had extensive dental work done by Dr Alter under anaesthetic. We are SO impressed with Dr Alter in every way - he is knowledgeable, caring, approachable and made our dental journey a really pleasant experience.

Searched the net for a dentist and the first two I called were either on sick leave or not in until March. Found doctor Alters rooms and thought I would try them out since they have a 5 star rating on the net. Called the practice on a Friday in excruciating pain and unfortunately could not get an appointment until the following Tuesday. I bore the pain until then. When making the appointment I was asked whether i am a new client to which i answered yes. I was not aware that the doc only takes cash and if you have medical aid then you claim back from the med aid. The receptionist I spoke to also did not make me aware of this. I neglected to ask about medical aid because in previous visits to the dentist medical aid rates were charged and claims made to the medical aid were made by the dentist. I only found out when I was completing the form that the practice only takes cash or debit card and no medical aid. I was taken aback by this because I was short on cash. I carried on with the appointment and had a xray done and my tooth filed to minimise the pain and was given two options for going forward. The doc was friendly and had a great bedside manner but is very expensive. I got less than half of what i paid back from medical aid. Very expensive and not suited to some budgets thats my reason for the 3 stars.

The kindest, gentle soul I’ve had the pleasure to meet. He chatted to and made my 5yr old so comfortable during her procedure and I will always be grateful to him.We have had no post problems at all😊

Dr Alter and his team have a great work ethic!So happy that I found them early after moving to Johannesburg. I dont ever feel nervous about dental checkups, and routine cleaning.Best service you can ever find! Speaking after having tried dental services around the globe.

Dr Avron Alter and I have a 37 year history – need I say more!Not just for routine check-ups - fillings, root canals, crowns, abscess treatment, gum surgery treatment, extractions, partial dentures -Not ONCE have I experienced pain from injection insertion or procedure. For a “non up close and personal” (pre Covid-19) person, he is absolutely respectful of my personal space, while continually showing concern for my wellbeing. His gentle, professional, competence is comforting and reassuring.The best in his field

I went to see Dr. Alter after 5 days of pain and 2 different doctors. He has been so kind with me and helped me to be quiet in the most professional way but with a warm smile.I really appreciate the care that he gave me, especially because Im pregnant and the others doctors didnt help me at all.He removed my wisdom teeth, quickly and safely.Thanks so much Dr. Alter.

Been going to Dr Avron Alter for a few years by now, I always find him friendly and professional. I recently had a root canal treatment, as always he was caring and constantly checking if I’m ok. The root canal treatment was successful, and no painkillers were needed. You always receive a follow up call next day from Dr. Alter or his team checking on you if everything is ok.Everyone in the praxis from the receptionists, the nurse and the dental hygienist are super friendly, I only can highly recommend Dr. Avron Alter and his team.

Had need for an emergency treatment due to severe tooth pain at night. Managed to get an appointment with Dr Alter. He has an impeccable bedside manner. Found out I had to have a root canal after an x-ray. Did the root canal and never felt a single bar some pushing and proding. Saw x-ray afterwards and was done perfectly and filled. Would highly recommend Dr Alter.

I am a person who experiences dental work as... invasive... and thus uncomfortable. I had some reasonably serious work done on a tooth late morning. During that work, I recall 3 moments of discomfort and never any serious pain. Later in the afternoon I took half the potential dose of painkiller in the afternoon, then nothing further about by day 2 my mouth felt more than fine with no on-going discomfort or pain. I was thrilled with the outcome of this experience.

I am petrified of dentists. In Dr Alter I found a gentle, caring, compassionate and totally pain free dentist. Everyone from the receptionists, the nurse and the dental hygienist are so welcoming and friendly. Why didnt I find you years ago Dr Alter?

Two root canals at the same time, oi…............ I had a few options presented to me. I opted for Dr Alter’s opinion. (injection) A choice of music and the TV monitor set. We were on our way to a 4-hour session.I am happy that someone knew how scary it can be and was patient, kindly and very pleasant. I recommend anyone to Dr Alters room with confidence.

This dental practice is absolutely brilliant. DR Alter and his assistant Priscilla are not only professional and friendly but their work is precise and excellent. The reception staff (from booking appointments, sending appointment reminders and follow ups post treatment) are professional, flexible and accomodating of your needs. I have been to other dentists and specialists, who have asked me who conducted my root treatments as they were precisely done. I have had minimal to no pain post my treatments with no comebacks on work done over the 4 years I have been a patient. My molar fillings were done in 2014 and neither of them have given me any issues or required re-work. The quality is impeccable.I highly recommend Dr Alter for honest and professional diagnosis and treatment from simple to complex dental issues.

I was referred to Dr Alter by my dentist Dr Klotnik as a matter of Urgency. Dr Alter took the time to understand my situation, thereafter he explained what the procedure entails 1st and 2nd visit and did what he needed to do. After he completed the procedure he again explained what he did and what to expect in the following days. The Very next day i received a follow up call from Dr Alters premises asking how i was doing. I have never received a follow up call from ANY doctor in my life. Keep up the good work.

Dr Alter is a wonderful dentist. I was in excruciating pain and he saw me, as a brand new patient, on the day I asked for an appointment. He did painless root canal with excellent results. He and his assistant Priscilla are knowledgable, empathetic and efficient. I recommend them without reserve.

Always find Avron to be friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He is excellent at what he does and very methodical in his ways. Have always received the best advice from him! Would Highly recommend him to anyone, which I do :)

Dr. Alter is an absolutely amazing Dentist and is fantastic with Children. He is motivating and my 4year old is not afraid of dentists despite him fixing 5 of her teeth at once. HE is our dentist for life :-)

I recently visited Dr Alters practice with a rather nasty and painful infection. Dr Alter recommended a treatment plan for me and after only one treatment, I have already had immense relief and am on the way to recovery. I would recommended Dr Alter to anyone who is nervous about dentist visits.

After being very scared for her first Dental appointment, my 6 year old is very excited about her clean teeth. Dr Alter is very kind and gentle with the little ones and made her feel at ease. I dont mind driving from Bedfordview to have the appointments for them.Saafya is also very kind and wonderful with the litte ones, keeping her calm through the entire teeth cleaning procedure and showing her how to keep the teeth clean. I will definitely recommend them both.

Been going to Dr Alter for many years already and have always enjoyed our interactions and his manner. usually trips to the dentist are not looked forward to however the annual check up with Dr Alter is nothing to be feared.
