If youre looking for a costume for a photoshoot or a birthday party 🎉 this is the place for you.I would have given the shop a three 🌟 rating if it wasnt for Ellies. She is a gem of a lady. When she saw that I wasnt being helped, she walked up to me and said I just want to finish with this client and then Ill be with you sirI told her it was my first time at the shop, she was so happy to hear that she even gave me a tour of the whole shop. If you want client service with care, ask for Ellies when you get to Hollywood Costume.

The fact that they have every costume you can think of. That place needs alot of cleaning up and organizing. Very upside down. If Sophia wasnt working there that can find everything then I dont know what they would do. Well done Sophia!!

Best place for any occasion

Staff are helping in assisting you with the outfit of your choice. Know what you want before you get there cos there is so many outfits, it may be a bit overwhelming for choice.They alter outfits if there are any issues b4 hiring it out. They keep a deposit of R150. If clothes are not washed on return, they deduct R50 from deposit.Friendly, efficient staff and service.

There is a reason this place has been in business so many years and continue to grow they are knowledgeable and have a MASSIVE variety of anything and everything you can imagine no other place can come close i traveled from Benoni the West rand and will do it any time again if i need costume hire. may you continue to grow and be blessed with many more years. Good variety of clothes for any dress-up party imaginable. The shop assistants seem to know where to find what in the very clothes-crowded halls. Its a bit pricy, approx R150 per person and a R200 deposit (March 2018), and some clothes are more worse for the wear than others. The dressing rooms are a bit small for getting dressed in big clothes, unless you dont mind other dressers seeing you!

By far the best costume shop Ive been to. There is a great variety of costumes and youre sure to find the costume that will suit your occasion or at least the tools to make your perfect costume there.There are also costumes for every age.Costumes are arranged in eras and genres, whats really great is they have tailors right there so you can get the costume to fit you just right. I suggest you go a few days in advance just to check it out and get it altered if it needs altering.If you have your costumes washed before returning it they give you a portion of your money back, just be careful when handling costumes and make sure to wash accordingly.The one set back for me was that its a distance to drive, which makes it slightly inconvenient, regardless nice people, great costumes to buy/ rent and a good selection of makeup and accessories to tie it all together.

Their outfits were often too small for our tiny children and they were made of really poor quality materials for the price we paid. On the night of our show we had more than 10 zippers break or come right off the zip, so we were scrambling for safety pins. Also none of the hats that were meant to have draw strings actually had draw strings. I also had to sew a few of the costumes back together as the seams were coming loose... And although they have a wide variety they did not have a horse outfit which youd think would be a basic go to outfit.I would have asked for my money back if I were the principal of our school. Next year Id rather make my own costumes and know that the outfit wont fall off my children half way through their performance.

You will be able to get a costume or mix match to make a costume fit. Staff are friendly but get the feeling that they are rushed to get to the next client. They can be busy during events. Cost for rental is on par with others. Just wash the items before returning to get your full refund.

I was completely overwhelmed by all the outfits (which is a good thing) but I had NO idea on where to start looking for what. Of course, being with a 6year old and a 10 year old, did not help my situation. The staff, did assist very kindly and efficiently when we asked.

Staff is helpful but not very clued up so cant really suggest alternatives. The variety is huge but a lot of the costumes are in terrible condition yet get charged full price. Parking is in the street and is a nightmare but the car guard is fantastic.

Hollywood costumes is one of the few costume shops left that really offers everything you are looking for. There is a massive rental option with a large amount of stock in different costumes. There are also a large amount of purchasable items, and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and always eager to help.

A fantastic place with the best quality costumes and an amazingly large variety. Its the only place i go for any of my costumes 🤩
