You just have to see it to understand how incredible it is!!• They have a steam room and enough space for lay down and relax• They also have outdoor showers ( very private)• The food is exceptional, I don’t know how to describe it perfectly…but it’s the best meal I’ve ever had as far as l can remember ( sorry mom)

The spa was an amazing experience. It has a very relaxed ambience and beautiful scenery. The staff were professional, punctual and friendly. The amenities were clean and I left feeling entirely de-stressed and fresh. My only objection is the lack of guidance when you book a spa package. There is no staff member to tell you to proceed to the next location or advise you on what will happen next, so you sort of wander around looking for a staff member or just keep going to reception to ask what you should be doing next and where to go. Other than that, highly recommended 👌

Stunning spa. The hydro pool in the gardens is sublime and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are a little dark, but the treatments coupled with the sounds of the water features put you into a dream-like trance. Highly recommend.

Tried without success to organize a conference at this establishment. Honestly I have never been ignored like this before when trying to give business to a hotel. They are simply not interested in giving service, ignore your emails, totally unhelpful when trying to organize a site visit. Really Fairlawns you don’t deserve my company’s money!

Extremely poor customer service at the breakfast restaurant. The two ladies sitting at reception need to be sent for customer experience courses as they do not know how to speak to people, very entitled and because of this experience, FairLawns will never see me nor my family again

I had a good stay at the Fairlawns Hotel, it was my birthday weekend and we booked at hotel for 2 nights and then enjoyed the beautiful spa which made up for the hotel. As a 5* establishment the hotel service lacked that sparkle and wow impact. Breakfast at the restaurant was disappointing more from an ambiance perspective, tables not made and tables not cleared of used utensils and dishes, breakfast also took forever to come. Staff not helpful and we where seldom greeted or assisted when asked for help.The setting of the hotel is beautiful however the experience was very much lacking from a delight and wow factor.Rooms are beautiful, however allot of black ants. The turn down service was not available for some reason though.The Spa was stunning and really made up for the experience as a whole.Attention to detail and the little delights can make this establishment differentiated from the other 5* establishments in Joburg.

One of the things I like about 5-star establishments is that they take their customer feedback very seriously. The second time dining at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel was very special. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcoming atmosphere from the front desk up until we got to the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, he took the time to explain the dishes that took our interest. He would regularly check on us to make sure everything was okay so there was no need to look for him or wave at other waiters. This allowed us to really enjoy the ambiance, classic decor, and soft music playing in the background. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very soothing and great for intimate conversations. We both ordered oxtail because we had heard good reviews about it & it surpassed our expectations ( would 10/10 recommend it) the meat was tender and falling off the bone. I do not eat dairy and the waiter made an arrangement to serve the dish I wanted minus the dairy. I also took the liberty to check on the other patrons and they seemed very pleased with the service, the waiters were very attentive to their tables. I would like to thank Thobela for making our time at the restaurant extra special and for offering to take us photos, they came out really nice. We had the best time at dinner and we will definitely be back soon.

Beautiful and serene, the spa was an absolute treat. The manager of the spa went above and beyond to make our day memorable. Dinner at the hotel was superb, and so was lunch at the spa. The restaurant quality is of a high standard and will definitely be back!

Visiting Fairlawns is always a treat, from the time you enter it’s like you’ve left the hustle of Joburg behind.The spa is always clean and the staff courteous and professional. Their treatments are great and the food from the restaurant is out of this world.Their newly built pool by the spa is also a great spot to relax and enjoy the time away from the daily routine.

Dont know why this google rating is so overstated if we simply enquired about your Stay over and Spa package/s.Suggestion: Owner and Senior Management should go under cover Boss to really see whats going on at your front desk/reception.

The atmosphere, decor, and service is great. Food at the Amuse-bouche was just okay, expected a bit more flavour and experience for the price.The floor in Amuse-Bouche was filthy with dirt, crumbs, and food. Very dissapointed by that. We also asked for the aircon to be turned off as it was blowing 30°c air directly onto us and was very uncomfortable. The aicon was not turned off. Would not go back to Amuse-Bouche.We also went to the Spa, the spa is fantastic. Very professional, and very clean. Would 100% recommend.Other than the pre-stated issues, the rest was really well done!

Set beautifully and the building is a French Provincial styled beauty although a tad smaller than expected, its stunning and homely. The gardens are sprawling and well maintained. The staff is attentive, although they seemed to struggle under pressure - nothing some pressure training wont fix. It was an overall pleasant visit. If you like quite, serene, french setting, this is for you. Thanks

I would suggest the restuarant consider digital menus because of Covid 19 safety protocols. The digital menus will allow them to change them frequently unlike reprinting physical menus.We asked to move tables after the table closer to the fire place was vacant, we had to ask for the table to be sanitised.

We went for breakfast to Fairlawns. The setting was beautiful and the staff were extremely accomodating. Whilst they have two options viz. a full breakfast which includes a continental and cooked hot breakfast and section option og continentsk only. They charges for one full breakfast because i wanted a cooked breakfast and my wife wanted continental. The breakfast really delicious and the portions were perfect

Beautiful spa and hotel but didnt leave satisfied. My mom and I booked the Enjoy Togetherness package and during my head massage I could feel the therapist was only massaging with one hand and would sometimes stop. Afterwards my mom said she saw the therapist was on her phone for most of my head massage. Im really disappointed as the spa is quite expensive and at that price I really expected more. They never gave us the bottle of bubbly included in the package and tried to charge for it. Luckily I noticed it was charged on the bill and asked them to take it off. There was also confusion about our lunch. Overall staff was pleasant but it felt like they were just trying to rush and get us out of the door again. Also floors were quite dirty in the manicure and pedicure area. Otherwise it was a good but average experience. I wont be back or recommend the spa which is sad because it is such a nice setting.

New home away from home, discovered.

This is a beautiful venue serving good food and with excellent service!However, sadly, it is not at all disability friendly. There is no disabled parking, the ramp to the entrance is quite steep and there are a number of steps- even in the cloakroom! No disabled toilet either.This could all be improved without too much difficulty and Id encourage the management to look at making their venue more accessible.

Stunningly beautiful. As soon as I walked into the Spa area I felt a sense of calmness. The hour long massage was wonderful, but it went by so quickly. Afterwards we spent some time relaxing in the warm indoor pool which looks out into a lush garden full of trees and Buddha statues. I could have stayed there all afternoon. I highly recommend this Spa for a pampering and luxurious visit you wont forget in a hurry.

Very beautiful space. Ladies were receptive and warm. We were late on arrival and no accommodation/provisions were made for us. I wish they had expressed the importance of time otherwise I wouldnt have taken it for granted. But otherwise a wonderful spot.

Yesterday was my 60th birthday and my two daughters booked a Spa treatment for us. Something special. Our plan was to have the treatment, swim in the pools, and have a relaxing lunch on the terrace. We were travelling from Pretoria for this with ample time to spare but found ourselves stuck in the middle of a 4 or more car pileup accident on the N1S. Most of the time standing dead still. When we realised this is not a quick fix accident we phoned the Spa to explain the situation. Both the numbers we had phoned kept disconnecting on every occasion. We eventuly sent an email hoping they would get it. Eventually we got thru to the hotel who would pass on the message as the Spas telephone lines had been struck by lightening. Needless to say we were late for our appointment. Hotel staff very friendly but walking into the Spa was another world. There was no welcoming, no friendly gestures. We felt like we were a total inconveniece. I have been to plenty of Spas and each one has there ways but we were always welcomed with a drink or a snack. The goodies were on the table but never once were we offered a thing. We were then seated and filled in the necessary forms, which i dont believe any of them are read. Because if they had read them they would have seen its a birthday. Never once were we asked if its a special occasion that mother and daughters are doing this together. There was a lot of talking between the therapists and then we were taken into the rooms to get done. We were told then that there is not enough time for a 60 min treatment cause we late. They have other people after us which I understand. We can have 30 min treatment instead. There was no negotiating on this that maybe we could have it done a little later when there was an opening. I mean coming from Pretoria, been stuck in traffic for an hour for a 30 min treatment. We could have done it closer and would have been less stressful. My 30 min massage was good a therapist friendly. Once back at reception not a sole offered us anything to drink or enquire if we enjoyed our massage. We were left standing around as if we did not exist. There was only one other couple waiting after us and thats all i saw in the time we were there. I did not see any more people using the Spar or pool area. I got more the impression it was not busy but rather too much trouble to try and accommodate us and make it a memorable occassion, cause nobody actually cared. I am not used to this treatment and diffinately not from a 5 star Spa. We had to ask were the pools were and this also became an issue. We were pointed in a direction and then to find the pools ourselves. Barman was standing in bar but does not come to pool with drinks menu. We have to call him. All the staff seemed to be lethargic and uninterested and unhelpful. Venue absolutely stunning but never have I had such poor and unfriendly service at any other Spas I have visited. We ended up packing up and enjoying some delicious food elsewhere. This Spa will definitely not be on my go to again list. Highly disappointed and sorry that my daughters were put thru this as they really wanted it special for me.

The place is absolutely beautiful. Service as reception was great. Made a reservation and stated it was my annivesary I was celebrating and still repeated that to the waiter... not even a note on a piece of papaer to say happy anniversary to us.The waiter was the worst, just geeting us water was a hustle, onother waiter who was awsome in all ways had to get us our wine but unfortunately he had to know off. As a result of that service my hubby and I had to have dessert at another restaurant to end our night on a high note.

Ive had the pleasure of two visits. Once for high tea with friends and then for a work conference. What a lovely setting, with attentive staff and excellent amenities. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend Fairlawns.

Had 2 spa services. The massage was perfect and the foot treatment put me to sleep. The Spa garden was amazing. Never seen anything like it. Love the pools, the water fountains, and the peace and quite. We were initially booked for one night, but once we saw the hotel we knew we had to stay for another. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The room we stayed in was massive, very nicely decorated and clean. The gardens and scenery in the hotel grounds were beautiful. The environment allowed us to have a proper relaxing weekend in the heart of the city. The restaurant and spa were also superb. The hotel is slightly pricey, but definitely worth it! Would definitely recommend it.

I had the most lovely opportunity to enjoy my birthday at the spa facilities and I was most impressed. From a friendly, sweet staff to an expert massage. This place sets the tone from the moment you drive in. If you are looking for a getaway from the hustle of Johannesburg this is definitely a place to stop by, enjoy and treat yourself. The care for the customers is also exceptional. I have not experienced their hotel facilities but I am sure it is just as amazing.

We had high tea for my Mas birthday. It was beautiful and I had some of the best scones Ive ever tasted. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the different teas and just a generally lovely person. We had a peaceful afternoon and then walked around the hotel. Hard to believe its tucked away in a residential area.

This place is beautiful. The decor is on point and whats better is that when youre in the garden you dont feel as though youre right in the middle of Sandton. The food served for lunch was amazing! Super tasty with great variety. We were here for a conference for 2 days and Ill honestly say this place is top notch. Would love to stay in their rooms but I simply cant afford to do so.

Amazing spa experience

This place really is a gem. The staff are friendly and very attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. The rooms never disappoint with attention to detail in every aspect.

The rooms here are massive and very comfortable. The facilities include a conference venue and that is well equipped and very comfortable indeed. The place has a very good level of service as well so quite good. It has its benefits but is a boutique hotel, and as such would not have all the facilities that you would.find in a 5 start hotel like.24 hour room service. But I very much enjoyed the stay.

It was fine dining at its best. Delicious, beautiful food that actually fills you up. I would definitely go there again!

We could not believe that this amazing boutique hotel would be located just few minutes away from our home.We had a function here, my wife and I... and we were so amazed... location is exceptionally quiet, lots of garden space... and a SPA...Very friendly personnel and very accommodating.We have plans to go and spend a full weekend here... super relaxing...A must.

Had the most incredible spa experience in winter. First class service. Get there early so that you could have the all inclusive scrumptious breakfast and walk in the garden. You could also have lunch and a swim in they sparkling pool after your massage. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and the staff is professional.

Great conference room and beautiful gardens with a pool that looked very inviting, especially with the playful flamingo floating on it.The snacks area was lacking in space, but it could have easily been set up somewhere more accommodating for the number of people attending.The decor ranges from classic to contemporary and the staff seemed friendly.
