Saturdays and Sundays were especially special under the trees, having breakfast or lunch or had an evening Pizza. Covid has affected the place and has a more empty feelings. Sundays is a rush close at 16h00, whilst most shops are closed and restaurants or coffee shops are limited. Salvation Cafe has survived. Wonderful place to sit outside. The service is as bad as it has always been. The food is overpriced and overrated. Parking guards are as a nuisance as always. Miss the personal touch of the personal service of L8, which has been replaced to different place. The burger and chips and espresso came from Salvation Cafe. Cold chips and an average burger for R128. Not served in a usual appetizing way and the buns were not fresh. They still dont get espresso great. Bean there is still there but operate limited hours. Vovo Telo is long gone. New bar with lovely outdoor seating and occasional live band. The bookstore is next to Bean There and has been a long survivor. From time to time there are new niche shops open. The big lounge has closed. It creates a big gap. Stanley 44 is worth to visit, but there is a lack of cohesion, different opening and closing times and it seems the owners just dont want to bring a nice vibe back.

A really beautiful chill out space. Has a beautiful vibe any day of the week. The home of handcrafted furniture and artisan works. This spaces hosts handmade chocolate deli, Bean There coffee, Mr Vinyl, Salvation Cafe and Deli. There is a beautiful gallery, bookstore, bag store and also homes the Petagonia suppliers for South Africa. It’s a beautiful hang out spot for more mature crowds a bit intimate. There is a lot of parking outside.

Love the vibe of this place. Beautiful up market boutiques. I got myself a gorgeous genuine leather handbag from Rowdy. Worth checking out and grab a bite at Salvation Cafe

Has amazing coffee places and eateries, the atmosphere is relaxing, clothing stores from formal to casual and theres a plant store which was my best part, second only to the rich audio library and art store, and theres a vinyl store for music lovers

Amazing place with a vibe. Different restaurants offer different foods and there are also a few places to do some shopping. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to have a fun, relaxed time.

Contemporary vibe type of space, art studios, vibey restaurants and clothing stores

Have not sat down here as yet but I love the artsy vibe they have going on. Its refreshing to find a little nook within the city that allows for creativity. They even have a little art gallery there which Im dying to visit soon as I can and sit down for a meal at a restaurant. Not forgetting the beautiful boutiques they have in the space. You would not be disappointed if you like a quiet but vibey place.

Beautiful apartments, very ordely with no noise and tight security. Only setback is the lack of two bedrooms flats.

We stumbled across this small shopping area when looking for our weekend coffee adventure and had a lovely day tasting hot chocolate from chocoloza and buying a gift of handmade treats, browsing the unique stores with handmade items and doing a coffee tasting at BeanThere.

I love the atmosphere, different shops to visit. Its a trendy place that attracts both young and old crowd.

Wonderfully party with the arty....A few scattered bespoke galleries, though the prices tend toward the more high-end commercial—matching luxury boutiques and independent-designer stores. A sprinkling of vacant shops evidences the C19 impact. That truly saddened me. Go and support our locals.

Amazing place to hangout, have a lunch at salvation and buy the most beautiful towels. You just always feels on holiday and overwhelmed by the nature in the city. I Love it. Can’t wait to back.

An absolute must to visit. Excellent food at Salvation Cafe, pick up vinyl that you have been searching for, invest in a print and get the best coffee beans for the week

Great place for refreshing and vibing with the feel of the outdoors

Hipster valley, but its quite nice. I even got fancy coffee. You can find beer (even non crafty) at the cinema.

Live music was fantastic jazz band playing. Feels very Soho New York or like London cosmopolitan vibe. Interesting shops, places to eat and wines

Found myself just browsing like a tourist here! Such warm, green and meticulous spaces. The prices are also for tourists but a good coffee at the Salvation Cafe . The bonsai shop looks so cool, it was closed unfortunately.

Visited Peachy for their event with Plug In Theatre. Was a very enjoyable and entertaining evening! Will definitely go again for their flamingo cocktail. Food was delicious, though too expensive for the portion size.

This is such a lovely, quaint entertainment and shopping area. It never disappoints. The crowd is eclectic and easy going. I always enjoy my visits there.

Absolutely loved this place. Its like a city within a city. The vibe was very chilled and there are tons of shops available to purchase from. Clothes, food, art, dog accessories, books, you name it. My favourite was the art gallery💜

Beautiful spot with unusual stores and nice restaurants. Sadly some stores have had to close, hopefully theyll be able to come back soon.

44 Stanley is a wonderful location but it has been badly hurt due to COVID. Hoping the retail outlets, restaurants and boutiques come through the pandemic. Certainly a visit

A place for good food nice designer and hand crafted shoes

Beautiful, tranquil and youll find everything from clothes to furniture, all locally produced. Yes, its expensive, but if you cant afford a R1750 pair of beautiful, art deco but everyday material pair of earings, Im sure you can afford a cup of coffee for R25.Some of us buy flowers, to get the same feeling walking into a flat that someone else gets walking into a mansion. Youre welcome in this space if you love the beautiful things that life has to offer, no matter the might of your pocket.Its one of my favourite places in JHB, and while I have to save up the whole year for a pair of earrings, I pop in anytime I have enough to get even if its just a cup of coffee.

Hidden away behind busy joburg streets and apartment blocks, but its worth finding for all its restaurants, coffee bars and hipster stores

It’s cool like Cape Town but gritty the way only Joburg can be.Great space for food and some shopping that offers more than any tired mall or shopping centre that we now seem to have way too many of.Always fin to browse and sip and taste!

I liked the chocolate shop, nice chocolate beverages available. There are also places that offer cooked meals and a couple clothing shops. Nice cozy place.

If we were not on Barista training I don’t think we would appreciate all that goes into the coffee served at Bean there. Absolutely a must experience and take time to chat to the baristas to learn more about their business.

An old favourite destination, with stacks of venues ...But it has been hard hit by the CoVid nonsense ...Some memories can now only be played back in the mind ... The places are no more ...There is an abundance of new enthusiasm ... Best wishes to all those keeping the place alive ...Both old and new ...Still worth a visit ... But expect some different options ...

Lovely little cluster of small stores and restaurants. Even found a great reading spot with little day beds at a restaurant. Also has this lovely record store if thats your thing. Worth popping in.

Ive always loved the joburgness of this place yet still feeling slightly removed and secret whilst in joburg. Theres enough variety to keep a person happy and the addition of The Bioscope has made me quite chuffed.

Good shops. Very interesting and modern with artsy pleuple. There is a venue restaurant. Parking is good. Good food and coffee. Wonderful looking chocolate shop and bonsai shop. Nice atmosphere. Well worth a visit

As always a very cool and trendy vibe to be had at 44 Stanley. Great variety of shops and restaurants. It truly is a great place to go and spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon there with friends.

Really enjoyed 44 Stanley, great vibe. The food was fantastic @Vovotelo. My only concern was how close the tables were to each other, a bit more distance between the tables would have been nice.

I had brunch with friends at Stanley Cafe. I had the Royal Benedict. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS😍 The flapjacks were soft & fluffy, the fruit tasted freshly picked and everything on the benedict was wonderfully fresh. An amazing meal overall.

The Bioscope, Chocoloza and Salvation Cafe, amongst many other boutique stores, are nestled here.

Exceptional ambious! Friendly customer service, really cool spot for creatives, loved the chips and sauce offering, just wish more variety sauce for wings like barbecue could be on list... Nonetheless an amazing beautiful spot. secret location kind of vibes

The place is nice and quiet.

Lovely spot with plenty of trees and nooks with interesting stores. The chocolate shop is a must visit and sitting outside for a coffee and great food at Vovo Telo is wonderful.

Always lovely to stroll around. However sad to see the closure of a few shops/restaurants in the past months. Salvation Cafe always a favorite.

A must see place in Johannesburg. Its like a hidden treasure! You have to go to the Beer Yard (newly renovated), Mr Vinyl and Bean There! And these are just a few of the great places there.
