The staff was kind from the doorman to the waitress. Their menu has a selection of food to choose from and their is always a special on meals which is a nice bonus.I had a chicken pasta and I must say Id give it a straight 8

If youre expecting good ambience, a nice setting and an overall good experience, stay clear of this place.Its poorly run. The staff arent well trained at all. Tables and baby high chairs arent sanitized before being seated. The general cleanliness of the place is below average.Staff leave alot to be desired. Seems like theyre picked at random off the street and told to work without being trained.That said, the food is good and the drinks are affordable. Although, you might question the conditions in which the food is prepared given the poor hygiene of the place and staff.

Absolutely outstanding service, our waitress was so accommodating and very clear with the specials offered. The food was good, the cocktails amazing but the brandy and coke and beer specials were the highlight.

This has become our local. We have supper there at least twice a week. The staff are friendly and very welcoming, service is very great and the Restaurant has a lovely ambiance. Food is delicious and the portions are large. They have a different special every night and this results in a really inexpensive meal. This is a must for anyone who likes to dine out o lot.

Ive always been a fan of this particular Dros because the service is usually quick and friendly and the food always fresh and made with a homely touch.You dont find many restaurants with both these ticks.Today though, the staff were a bit lax but Ill put it down to the weather.Area wise it is pretty spacious - there is an upstairs and downstairs section - however the downstairs is quite dimly lit which some people may mistake for dingy.Theres a cool outside section with a jungle gym to keep bigger kids occupied. There is an indoor play area for younger kids but it is quite empty and not really inviting.It would be great to add a bit of brightness and fun toys or activities in there to keep young minds intrigued.Otherwise a nice atmosphere.

Went there for my birthday on Sunday. Service was good and the food was excellent. Just watch the barman with the double whiskeys as he is skimming and only giving you a tot and a bit.

A great location for budget friendly specials, everyday of the week has a different special. We went for half price burger Monday - not a huge variety but ok for the price. Service is good, but the background music needed a work over. But, beer is cold and well priced.

The best service Ive hard in my life. Such friendly and welcoming people. I love the earthy look of the place. The food and wine is to die for. You cannot coming to Jozi and not go there, you will be totally missing out. Definitely coming with bae next time.

Great restaurant, very homely environment. Well priced foods and drink. However it can feel quite empty during the day but then again its a pandemic so thats a plus.

My buddy and I ate at the Dros on Saturday. We both had the special 200gm steak. They even changed the sauce for me. The steaks were Bleu. Perfection. Delicious. Normally have had great meals here but the calamari special was way over cooked. Such a pity.

Havent been there since the lockdown, it was a firm favourite with the Thursday calamari special. Today I was disappointed with the calamari and on asking the waitress why they had changed from strips to tubes she told me it was because I ordered grilled instead of fried. A big difference in taste but my own fault as she did tell me but I didnt realise. Will be back but wont make that mistake again. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Decent enough place for a bit to eat. The prices are more on the expensive side compared to other eateries of a similar kind. Our waiter was a trainee but was friendly and keen to assist. The kids play area needs a proper revamp, not the safest or cleanest to let the little ones play.

I ordered a R500 meal with a tip from The Dros Stoneridge through Uber Eats for my fiances birthday. A lady driver accepted the order (her name was something along the lines of Tshiphinda), her profile said she was both an uber driver and an ubereats delivery person and had completed over 3k trips. Her profile picture is a selfie with a prominent poster of Jesus behind her. She arrived at the restaurant and parked quite far away, i watched on the app as she sat there for about 5 mins and I presumed she was waiting for the restaurant to wrap up. Suddenly the app said another driver was on his way to collect the order and her profile disappeared. The order was reassigned to about 4 different drivers after that so I called the restaurant and the manager confirmed that the first driver, a lady, had collected the order 30mins ago and he now had 4 other drivers waiting at the store for the same order. I contacted Ubereats support as this experience not only wasted the time and money of 4 other drivers but it completely ruined my fiances birthday. Yes the money was refunded but my worry is that she operates in the area and no responsibility was taken by ubereats to ensure something would be done to stop her from doing this in the future. By the time the manager had confirmed what happened, curfew was in place and it was not possible to order from somewhere else. Despite multiple emails and chats on the support part of the app no reassurance or accountability has been taken by uber to follow up with the driver who essentially stole on purpose and is still operating under their umbrella. There is no way to report or flag her. In these times uber is facing such bad press with how much they pay their drivers and now there is No way to report a driver that is a thief. I can never order from the Dros again in good faith because this same woman might collect and repeat the theft with no repercussions

This was a good staple place in the Vale but somehow its getting more and more quiet. The food is still good but not great. Maybe the Dros hey day is over. The one thing that does not help this franchise is the service. The waiters are definitely under trained. Not that they are rude or anything just ....something is not right. Its a pity.

Props to the chef and Eve serving myself and my colleague. I loved my sirloin, kudos.

We went to watch the rugby. It was busy so understandable that orders took a while to be delivered. I appreciated the waiter coming back with feedback on our order. Food was above average.

A nice place to chill, eat and watch soccer. Their services is very good, the food comes out quick. However, I didnt enjoy the steak and prawns and Salad. I have had better steak, prawn and Salad at a much cheaper price elsewhere. The restaurant does have enough parking space. They also have smoking area which is a good thing for smokers.

Food is good, and the fact that they have a pensioners menu is an added bonus.

This is a great place for a chilled breakfast,lunch or dinner, no need to dress up just go relax and enjoy some good food. Definite value for money, I have never been disappointed with my food and the waiters and waitresses always greet you with a smile. Try the breakfasts they amazing, or their combo meals or eisbein.
