An absolutely massive Checkers with everything from groceries, garden and outdoor products, sports gear and even a gift wrapping station. Clean and neat Isles. A very welcome feature was to see almost all the checkout counters occupied, no queues over lunch time.

I had a very terrible experience at this checkers. I went to the kiosk to withdraw money, I was told to go to the tills. I then queued at the tills, the till lady Philisiwe then told me she doesnt have the amount im requesting and that i should go queue at another till and mayb i might be lucky. Philisiwe was very rude, did not want to assist me at all and when i asked her to call her supervisor, she told me to go look for her myself. I left Philisiwe, looked until i found the supervisor MrsTwala who then assisted me. Very disappointed at the disrespectful and threatening nature of Philisiwe. I will be not be shopping here again

Absolute surprise to find a party shop inside the Checkers.

Omg I just love this shop, they are super friendly and they literally, and I mean literally, have everything that you can think off. Staff is friendly as well which makes the experience so much better.

I had the worst experience ever, as I left Checkers earlier today. A female security guard verbally attacked my mom and I for using a trolley, then proceeded to grabbing hold of it and aggressively shaking it with the intent of forcing me to let it go. The sh!t part about this is that my 2 toddler boys were inside the trolly.I have never been this disgusted in humanity in my life. We speak out against so many things, but what about one womans aggression towards undeserving children? A k@k story about a trolly, to customers who have supported the store for nearly three decades?That woman should thank her gods that my first instincts were to protect my sons and not to get physical with her the way she did with my boys.

I am a regular here for two years and most times I struggle to draw cash. Also, if you are white, be warned that you will not be treated courteously by the black ladies behind the tills. The manager really needs to call these ladies in and ask them to treat the whites with the same respect as their own people.

I do my grocery shopping here. I love that the store is big and has a wide variety. Just be cautious with your belongings though, especially month end when its busy

Loved shopping at Checkers but recently experienced problems with the chicken from the butchery. Unfortunately without a till slip you will have to throw the chicken away.

I always get the best service in this place. Even though cashiers may be grumpy now and then,overall Id say its a good store to do my shopping at. I do wish they can have parking rebate like Woolworths does in Eastgate especially considering that one does spend quite a lot of time shopping. Pleasant shop with great service everall

I love the staff here they always make my day with smiles and greetings they will go a long way for and every experience I have from till ladies to cigarette counter to the ice cream to the pancake stand and the security I have a lot of love and respect for them. I hope other shoppers can learn to appreciate these people more. Take care everyone.

Very nice place.It gets very busy but they manage it very well. The managers needs to be congratulated. Sometimes there one cashier that arent up to the work and that, I suggest, needs to be addressed. But its not often it happens.Otherwise its a good place to go for shopping

One of the best grocery stores around. Huge selection of products from fresh vegetables to gardening equipment. With many specials and quality items its a great place to get the highest value for your money. The high number of paypoints means paying is not a drag, one can complete the process within 10 minutes on average.When it comes to cleanliness, it is one of the best Checkers in town. The Isle arrangement is not the best but it shouldnt be too confusing for first timers. Conveniently located an entrance to the mall it makes getting in and out quick as long as you find parking nearby.Ordering furniture from the furniture and appliances department is the biggest fail in this store. The process is cumbersome and getting your goods delivered will mean another wait. Luckily they have couches to relax on while they process the purchase but having your own means of getting any heavy items (fridge/couch) home is highly preferable.Overall, great place quick and long shopping and the only extended waiting time one can experience is during Black Friday or when buying stuff you only buy once.

No price labeling on the shelves. No trolleys at the entrance its a mess of a store. Rather go to checkers edenvale I have never been disappointed there, month end or not.

CheckersHyper Eastgate is selling rotten skinless chicken breast, bought the chicken this past Sunday 15/10/2019, defrost it on Monday 16/10/2019, the smell was HORRENDOUS to say the least! i was always warned NEVER to buy meat or chicken from CheckersHyper, and i had to experience it myself to believe! never and never again will i buy from CheckersHyper!

Big store. Good value and good range of stock. Frienly staff if you make the effort. Layout is highly illogical though.

I got mugged right inside the store 13/03/2019. They didn’t want me to view the cctv footage. A part of me tells me the stuff is also involved because they seemed unbothered. The managers were acting like it’s new knowing it happens over and over again. Checkers hyper Eastgate is not safe at all.

Check your slips people, these 3 for 100 and 4 for 75 deals are lies. I have 4 things that are on my receipt that where supposedly deals, some they actually charged me double the price. Cant trust them so frustrating that a person has to double check!

I bought cooked food at eastgate on Sunday it was 50% off and now Im sick and this is not the first time I experience this 2months ago I bought checkers brand bacon and when I cooked it, it was smelling sour and bad. Also this Sunday I went by the fridge to take chicken breast they were all smelling badly honestly Im starting to dislike checkers at Eastgate cause as we speak Im really sick.
